Modernised light apartment in converted granary. Small village in Pennines.
Internet access. Drive parking. Beautiful scenery.
Close to High Force waterfall, Bowes Museum and only 30 miles to historic Durham City. Good walks and on the Pennine Way - famous long walk in England. Local shops. Cosy pubs. Dogs welcome. Non smokers preferred. Steps up to flat on 3rd floor - no lift. Bath. No shower.
The apartment below me in the Granary is also on airbnb and this would mean that friends eg two couples could stay in the building at the same time.
I also have a small extra bedroom that can be used for one extra guest at a cost of £10 a night
Buses daily except Sunday and Bank Holiday. Mostly hourly.
Lesley's apartment below me in the Granary is also on airbnb and this would mean that friends eg two couples could stay in the building at the same time.
keep clean and tidy
Jane contacted us before our visit with helpful and clear directions to The Granary and information about the Bowes Museum, which she knew we were planning to visit. She made sure we had a parking space and was so welcoming we soon felt like friends. By complete coincidence some old friends of ours had recently stayed in Jane's home too. Jane is kind, energetic and easy to talk to. The Granary is handy for all the amenities and walks around Middleton-in-Teesdale, yet tucked away from the main street, with views of the beautiful landscape which surrounds it. We had a comfortable and peaceful night's sleep. We plan to return before too long. Thank you for your warm hospitalty, Jane.
Jane was very friendly and totally reliable; she waited for us to arrive and welcomed us into her lovely, light, airy flat. It's in the converted loft space - 49 steps to climb. The facilities are all excellent. Towels, breakfast, map, helpful info etc all provided. Few minutes easy walk to shops, restaurants, pubs. Lovely walks within minutes of the flat.
This was our first experience of airbnb, and one we will want to repeat in the near future. Jane was very welcoming, and everything was better than we could have hoped for. Her flat is perfectly placed for exploring Teesdale and the surrounding area. Middleton itself has good pubs and restaurants, and there are lots of good walks in the area.Highly recommended.
We had a really lovely stay at the old Granary. We felt very much at home mainly due to Jane, our host's generosity to share her home with us. We had interesting conversations and got useful recommendations from Jane on 2 excellent walks. Jane's zest for life is contagious. The accommodation was very comfortable and well located. We were allowed to play from a wide variety of CDs and Dvds, very useful on one very rainy night.
Well that was good fun! Nice place, modern and airy. Comfy bed. Tons of books.
Jane was cheerful/friendly and very interesting to talk to but at the same time allows you plenty of space. Many thanks
Jane was very helpful and sent all details well in advance
The apartment was even better than what we were expecting and was comfortable and warm.
Helpful information was left out and extras such as cake &cereal were a nice touch.
We had an accident that broke a wine glass and spilt wine but this was taken in good grace
We loved being at Jane's. She was very welcoming and easy to be around. Her apartment is lovely with great views and an extremely comfortable bed. Jane also provided me with a lem sip as I had a cold. Also after a day's walking it was great to soak in the bath. ThanksJane.
