The Space

We offer a small scale boutique B&B service with two beautiful comfortable bedrooms decorated in a mix of contemporary and period furniture, one of which has an open working fireplace.

As a couple of foodies, and serve hearty homemade gourmet breakfasts each morning in the dining room with our own homemade breads, scones, seasonal chutneys and jams. We provide good quality coffee and tea, our eggs are always free-range and our herbs are all locally grown. See below for a sample breakfast menu. Everything is prepared fresh using Irish seasonal produce as much as possible.

Our house is a stone's throw away (or 10 minute walk) to O'Connell St, and about 25 minute walk to Dublin's center and Temple Bar area. It's about 15 minutes cab ride to the airport. We have lots of knowledge about local history and of what's on in the entertainment and arts scene.

This bedroom is the upstairs room and is an oasis of calm. It's beautiful, bright and overlooking the garden below. The bed is super comfortable, and all bed linen and towels are of course provided.

We also have for your convenience ..
* the loan of a mobile phone with Irish SIM card
* a hair dryer
* European adapters should you want them
* an iPod / iPhone / iTouch dock for music

  • We were welcomed on arrival with fresh coffee and home made scones and jam! On entering our room there was fresh flowers and soft classical music was playing. I have to say Kevin and Garvan really know how to add a bespoke experience to their B&B!

Garavan is a great cook and the breakfast is amazing! Everything is home made and thoughtfully presented.

If your looking for a place to stay in Dublin which is calming, offers great food, hosts who have a wide range of local knowledge of where to go, "Two rooms in Dublin" has it all, I would recommend Kevin & Garvan to anyone going to Dublin.

  • For my first time in Ireland and in AirBnB, I think I was rather lucky to start my trip at Garvan and Kevin's. Our stay was perfect! They are fabulous hosts and Fred, their sweet dog is a love!
We arrived very late and we were so warmly welcome with tea and homemade cookies... Kevin and Garvan were really attentive to us and make us fell at home. They recommend us a lot of great things to do, but, unfortunately, even in 4 days, we haven't had enough time to try everything! So, for sure, we will come back...
The room was so sweet, well-decorated, every detail perfect, and the breakfast... I can't find the words to say how wonderful they are!
So, You'll understand that I strongly recommend Garvan and Kevin's place!

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Kevin and Garvan's! A beautiful place in north Dublin. It's very convenient from the airport and about a 15 minute walk to downtown. The homemade breakfast is incredible. In and of itself, we'd give that five stars if we could. Kevin and Garvan are wonderful hosts. And then there's Fred the schnauzer. Quite possibly the coolest dog ever. We wanted to steal him. We would definitely stay here if we come back to Dublin!

  • I had a great experience staying with Garvan and Kevin. They were friendly, hospitable, and considerate. My favorite part of the stay was the delicious breakfasts Garvan prepared in the mornings. The bedroom I stayed in was beautifully decorated, tranquil and sunny.

  • I just completed my second stay in Dublin with the wonderful Kevin, Garvan and Fred, the awesome schnauzer. Hard to believe but I think this trip was even better - I had forgotten how comfortable their home is, how welcoming they all are (especially Fred, LOVE that up close greeting every time he sees me!) and most of all, how amazing the breakfasts! Garvan is a master of all things kitchen and I cannot recommend these guys enough. I love the BnB experience in Ireland but these wonderful hosts have raised the genre to a whole new level!

  • Our stay with Kevin and Garvan was our first Airbnb experience and I must say it was an amazing one!!! They are a super sweet couple willing to go the extra mile for their guests. Their warm welcome, their hearty home cooking and their attention to all the right details really made Juan and me feel at home.

P.S. Kevin and Garvan have great taste, not only in decorating, but also when it comes down to choosing all the right local spots. So make sure to ask them some of their local faves. We really enjoyed living like locals in Dublin for two days. Thanks again!

  • This was our first of several Airbnb stays in our extended travels, and I can say without hesitation that what Kevin and Garvin offer is superior on all counts: communication, accommodation, location, hospitality. While many folks are simply letting out the spare bedroom, Kevin and Garvan approach this as a real B&B, and they do not disappoint. We also appreciated whatever time we could get to spend with them, since they are interesting, well-traveled, informative and just downright pleasant to be with.

  • I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone, even a Dubliner who would like to spoil themselves :) Kevin and Garvan are the perfect hosts, and their home is exquisitely appointed. Delicious doesn't begin to describe their famous breakfasts! Thank you very much for a lovely weekend :)
