Wake up to the view of the ocean!
My cozy and warm apartment, located on a great shopping street, sleeps four (I have a queen- and a king-size bed and a queen-size air mattress), includes a private parking space and is only 10-15 min by bus/train from Copenhagen city center.
The TV has approx 30 digital channels. I have a DVD player and a selection of DVDs, including some interesting Danish movies with subtitles in English.
NB: See my guidebook on recommendations for sightseeing, eating out and much more - in Copenhagen, Hellerup and north of Hellerup.
My apartment is located on the coastline north of Copenhagen center. The neighborhood, which holds most embassies in Denmark, is quiet, very safe, and perfectly situated: close to Copenhagen city center - 10-15 minutes by train or 15-20 minutes by bus or bicycle - and yet close to beaches, forests and parks.
My apartment is 70 m2, has sloping walls and light wooden floors. No level floors - it's an old apartment building! My decorating style is mostly Scandinavian design from the 1940s through the 1960s, with an Asian and African touch due to my travels and living abroad. It might sound strange but it works ☺.
The apartment consists of a living room; a kitchen; a toilet; a room with a shower cabin, washing machine, freezer and wardrobe; and two bedrooms: the smallest has a single bed that opens into a double, and the slightly larger has a queen-size bed for two people.
A two-person air mattress can be put up in the living room as well.
I am convinced that you will have everything you need here to make your stay very comfortable.
The amenities that I offer include
Queen size bed (140x200cm)
Single bed that opens into a double (80/160x200)
Air mattress as-comfortable-as-they-come (153x210)
Winter & summer down duvets and down pillows
Bed linen and towels
Toiletries incl. blow dryer
Cable TV (incl a few Swedish, German, Norwegian, British and American channels), DVD player
Stove and oven
Blender, juicer, toaster, Italian coffee makers
Iron & ironing board
Turntable with great music selection :-)
Candles provided for my numerous candle-holders, so you can ‘hygge’ (cozy up) as the Danes☺.
An ample selection of books, including LOTS of cooking books, primarily in Danish but also a great deal in English, as well as Italian, Swedish and even a few in French & German.
To put the Breakfast in BnB (even though I won’t be serving it), I provide coffee & tea, Danish rye bread (a must), homemade marmalade, fresh fruit, eggs, yoghurt & muesli. The rest will be added according to your preferences ☺.
In the courtyard behind the building there's a private parking space; a locked-off space for bicycles; and a seating area for barbequing/enjoying the sun.
Interaction with Guests
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I will be available to you before arrival on phone or email, will be present on arrival and can easily come by during your stay.
Whenever it's possible I like to come and see my guests off and hear about your stay.
I am happy to help you with sightseeing suggestions, dinner reservations for popular restaurants and the like.
I speak Danish, English, Italian, ‘Scandinavian’ (Danish mixed with Swedish or Norwegian) and some French. I understand written Spanish and German and some spoken.
I have lived in my apartment for ten years, so I know the area very well. I grew up in a suburb to Copenhagen and have lived several years in Østerbro and Nørrebro (neighborhoods in Copenhagen) so I am very familiar with Copenhagen at a large.
As mentioned above, my apartment is located in a quiet and very safe neighborhood. I love that I have good shopping, coffee bars, gelaterie, bakeries, restaurants etc. right outside my doorstep, and beaches (my local beach is tiny but very close, and there are two very popular beaches further up the coast), parks and a forest close by. You won’t find this combination elsewhere in Copenhagen.
Under the guidebook section, I have pinned cafes, bakeries, restaurants, takeaways and museums, and will add more interesting places along the way, such as must-see sightseeing, more restaurants, castles, parks and beaches. If you have any specific sightseeing interests let me know and I will add those.
Getting to my apartment from the airport or the central train station by train, metro or bus is easy. From the airport it takes approximately 40 minutes from door to door; from Copenhagen central station around 20. I will of course guide you on the best way to get here depending on your mode of transportation.
Going to downtown Copenhagen is very easy - you can either hop on a bus 20 meters from my doorstep; walk five minutes to the train station; or do as the natives: ride a bike, come rain or shine (or snow!), and in 15-20 minutes you will be in the center of Copenhagen, depending on how fast you are:-).
Other Things to Note
Note that I live on the fifth floor with no elevator (and we don't include the ground floor in Denmark, so that's five flights of stairs). Just consider it a workout, that's what I do:-). The view is most definitely worth the climb.
If you want to book my place for a longer period of time, feel free to ask. In that case, the deposit will be higher, as well as the cleaning fee.
There is no smoking in the apartment nor on the staircases - smokers will have to go outside to smoke.
There are no pets allowed in the apartment building.
It's a quiet condominium, so I will encourage guests not to be too loud - especially after 10pm:-).
The washing machine should be used 9am - 9pm only.
The apartment was just perfect. Beautiful ocean view, well furnished absolutely clean. It is situated about 15 minutes from city center in quiet neighborhood with possibilities to shop, eat, have a coffee, buy pastry, walk along the seaside. The bus stop is just in the front of the door, the train station is about 10 minutes walk.
Eva Maria is very welcoming host, ready to help. We appreciated supplies for breakfast, that were prepared for us.
I have been to many airbnb accommodations and this one was far way the best one! Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our stay at Eva Marie's place.
The appartment is lovely, tastfully decorated, and was spotless clean when we arrived.
Eva Marie is a gracious host, extremely friendly, helpful and considerate.
The appartment is located in a great area - very close to the sea, great shops, cafes etc.
Only point to mention is that the appartment is on the 5 th floor snd there is no lift, so be prepared for a daily exersize.
This was our first Airbnb experience and it was a very good one! It sets the bar high for a future destination.
That was my first experience with Airb&b and I think Eva Marie is kind of an "ideal host". She wrote us one week before our arrival date to ask about our special needs and breakfast preferences and to share informations on how to get there. But there was not much to change about breakfast, that included fresh organic homegrown fruits and handmade danish brød. Eva was so helpful and easy to be reached by message or phone. The place is very cosy, quiet, bright and organized, with nice sea-view, pretty much as described. There is a "guidebook" with plenty of informations about the apartment, its neighborhood (Helerup), Copenhagen and around. The apartment is well located as well. Helerup is a charming place with many nice stores, markets, some parks, by the sea and about 15 minutes from central Copenhagen by train. Well everything was better than expected and made me want to try airb&b again and again, although I didn't manage to find nothing so close to perfection like Eva Marie's place.
The host Eva Maria made us feel very welcome. She kept in touch with us through email before we arrived and had breakfast, chocolates, and wine waiting for us when we arrived! She was full of information about the city, and provided us with Danish cell phones to use during our trip. She especially went out of her way to make baby Nora feel welcome by babyproofing her house and providing us with a crib. The neighborhood was quiet and convenient to the train station, and the view from her apartment was lovely. It was a real pleasure to meet Eva and stay at her apartment!
We really enjoyed the stay in the cozy and very clean appartment. Since it was in preparation for a longer period in Kopenhagen, it gave us the perfect "feel at home " experience. We loved it and the special care and assistance Eva Marie gave. She's a perfect host! We hope to come back.
Our stay at Eva Maries's beautiful and stylish apartment was as promised: Eva Marie made us feel comfortable and at home from the start (see breakfast references, music and movie collection, guidebooks, a binder in which she had collected all kinds of tips for our stay, cute little stickers explaining how things work in her apartment etc.)! She actually did go that extra mile as a host and was always quick in her responses. Her apartment is an example of Danish design and taste (and made us rethink our own apartments' styles :)) and her neighborhood - expecially the proximity to the beach - was ideal. The bus drive into town (about 20 min) didn't bother us at all. Quite the opposite, it gave us a chance to get out of the immediate city and experience other, less touristy sides of Copenhagen.
All in all, we absolutely agree with the other feedback writers: We completely recommend staying at Eva Marie's apartment to anyone wanting to spend some exciting, but also relaxing days in Copenhagen!
I am 36 years old Danish woman, enjoying living in Denmark but also perpetually curious about the world, other cultures and meeting new people. As an airbnb host, I really enjoy that I get to experience a bit of this at my own doorstep!
When hosting guests, I always take pride in making the stay as comfortable and cozy ('hyggeligt' in Danish) as possible. I enjoy helping out as much as I can with tips and recommendations on what to do and what to see in Copenhagen and nearby destinations. I’ve been toying with the idea of my own BnB for a while, so what better way to try it out than here.
Five things I couldn't live without:
The ocean and forests - being close to the ocean and being able to take walks on the beach and in the woods;
My Italian stove-top coffee makers :-);
When I travel, I love to go to places where I can either enjoy great food combined with cozy side-streets, interesting museums and laid-back cafes, or back-to-basics hiking destinations, with the odd chalet offering a hearty meal for the famished outdoorsy tree-hugging trekkers.
