A six and a half block walk to the Convention Center, Rainey Street entertainment district & East 6th Street entertainment district. A prime location for the vacationer who wants to walk to everything cool Austin has to offer!

I'm very passionate about entertaining friends and family and hosting guests. My degree is in Architecture, however, I don't get to use it in my professional life. Revisioning this turn-of-the-century home was a dream come true. The remodel was to the highest possible standard, and completed with the thought, "where would I want to stay?"

Interaction with Guests
I personally check-in guests, and give a brief overview of the amenities in the house, plus close by spots for coffee, groceries, dining and entertainment. I enjoy giving my guests an insider view on the neighborhood hot spots, convenient trailer eateries, and the best bars restaurants and bars nearby. Just knowing who has the best happy hour, or where to rent a bike and/or paddle board can enhance my guests overall experience.
The neighborhood has so much to offer, and I really recommend that my guests enjoy it on foot or by renting a bicycle. We are steps away from the art galleries and cool spots on East Cesar Chavez, like Cenote Coffee Shop, Bufalina Pizza & the Weatherup Cocktail Lounge. Additionally, the property is walking distance to both the Rainey Street Entertainment District & E. 6th Street. We are 4 blocks from the shores of Lady Bird Lake & the hike and bike trail that cuts through downtown, and will take you to Butler Park, Zilker Park, Barton Springs & to see the famous bats fly out at dusk from the Congress Street bridge. You can rent a canoe or paddle board along the shoreline, or a party boat for the most amazing night time views of downtown from Lady Bird Lake. For the business traveler we are 7 blocks to the Austin Convention Center.
There is a bus stop 1/2 block from the property which takes guests straight into downtown. However, you might wait longer for the bus than walking into downtown. The metro rail system is 4 blocks away. My favorite special treat is hiring a pedi-cab downtown to bike me home open air. It can be the perfect end to an evening out, plus we are one of the only residential neighborhoods where the pedi-cabs will take you right to your doorstep.
Other Things to Note
I love walking to Lady Bird Lake and renting a paddleboard, kayak or canoe only a few blocks from the house at The Alta Cafe & Austin Rowing Club Boathouse. Half a block from the house are fantastic art galleries on Cesar Chavez and Cafes and Coffee shops nearby at the Rainey Street District & the East 6th Street Entertainment District. I often walk downtown to listen to music, eat & drink. Or more often take a $5 cab ride (save my feet) and then bar hop throughout downtown and walk back home at the end of my night. Being the closest residential neighborhood to downtown, the pedi-cabs will deliver you after a night out open-air to your doorstep.
RENTAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1.CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 3 P.M. CST AND CHECK-OUT IS 12:00 P.M. CST. NO CHECK-IN AFTER 10PM CST, please be certain your arrival occurs well in advance of this timeframe. Self check-in is not allowed. Owner will be present for check-in to provide access to the property, provide an overview of the house amenities and review the check-out procedure & requirements. A secondary guest in the party or other family member with a valid ID and cell phone number may check-in for the primary paying guest, and should be arranged in advance with the owner. No early check-in or late check-out without owners’ permission at least 48 hours prior to the check-in date. Check-out 1-hour late will incur a $50 additional charge. Check-out 1-2 hours late will incur a $100 additional charge. Check-out 2-hours late will incur an additional nightly rental fee, and eviction from the property.
2.This is a NON SMOKING home. Smoking is permitted outside only in locations where ashtrays are provided. All cigarette & cigar butts must be fully extinguished and renter agrees to empty all ashtrays into the trash prior to check-out.
3.No Pets are permitted, in the home or on the grounds at any time.
4.No outdoor grilling, fires, camping or camping equipment is allowed on the premise.
5.No outdoor music is allowed on the property, at any time.
6.Indoor furniture may not, at any time, be moved outside.
(URL HIDDEN) may not entertain additional people in the home or on the courtyard & greater premise without owner’s prior written permission, and ‘sleep over’ of such guests is absolutely prohibited.
8.SECURITY DEPOSIT- A damage & security deposit of $185 is required. This must be received at the time of booking the reservation. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within 48 hours of departure provided the following provisions are met:
a.No damage is done to home or its contents.
b.No items are missing from inside the home or surrounding premise.
c.All debris, rubbish and discards are placed located in outside trash bin and recycle bin on the courtyard
d.All soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned.
e.All doors and windows are locked upon departure
f.No linens, towels, blankets, bedspreads or pillows are lost, permanently stained or damaged.
g.No early check-in or late check-out without prior written permission from the owner provided at least 48 hours prior to the check-in date (see para. 1)
h.The renter is not evicted by the owner or the local law enforcement.
i.No rules or regulations have been broken by renter.
j.USE OF THE COURTYARD AFTER 10pm IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
k.Excessive noise disturbances from renter have not been reported by neighbors, owner
or other renters in the adjacent bungalow.
l.No food and/or drink stains are found on walls, ceilings or on the furniture
9.PAYMENT – Dates including ACL, SXSW or FORMULA 1, require an advance payment equal to 50% of the total cost quoted to secure the reservation. The advance payment will be applied toward the rent. The advance payment is not a damage deposit. The BALANCE OF RENT AND/OR SECURITY DEPOSIT is due sixty (60) days before your arrival date.
10.CANCELLATIONS –Cancellations must be made 30 days prior to your check-in date for a full refund. WE SRONGLY SUGGEST TRIP INSURANCE. Here are a few companies that provide trip insurance: InsureMyTrip: (URL HIDDEN) , Skymed (URL HIDDEN) , Travel Guard (URL HIDDEN) or Travel Protect (URL HIDDEN)
11.MONTHLY RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS - Monthly renters must cancel one hundred twenty (120) days prior to check-in. Monthly renters who make a change that results in a shortened stay must be made at least ninety (90) days prior to check-in.
12.MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of overnight guests for this home is limited to Two (2) persons overnight, including any/all children (excluding infants). Additional occupants may result in removal from the property by owner and forfeiture of all paid funds. If reasonable suspicion exists that this rule or any others are being violated, owner may make a site visit to the property and under no circumstances will be denied entry into the building.
13.OUTDOOR SHARED SPACES- The property contains a main house and back bungalow with a shared courtyard between the two buildings. The courtyard dining table & chairs, plus additional lounging furniture located in the courtyard are shared in common by all guests/renters. The main house has three exclusive-use exterior spaces: the front porch, side cocktail deck & screened porch. USE OF THE SCREENED PORCH AND COURTYARD AFTER 10pm IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. The back bungalow has one exclusive-use exterior space: the front patio located at the door front of the bungalow. Renters should respect each other’s privacy and right to peacefully enjoy the property. When other renters are in adjacent units the noise level on the courtyard and main house screened porch should be respectful. Any noise complaints from other renters or surrounding neighbors could result in forfeiture of the security deposit and/or eviction from the property (see para. 8j)
16.INCLUSIVE FEES - Rates include a one-time linen and towel setup, toilet paper and tissues, soaps and shampoos, coffee and creamer, sodas and snacks, plus the use of all pantry goods available.
17.NO DAILY MAID SERVICE - While linens and bath towels are included in the home, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate and is not provided. Rentals for a two-week period or longer will include one weekly maid service.
18.TOWELS, BLANKETS & LINENS - We strongly suggest you BRING BEACH TOWELS. Many of our renters visit nearby lakes and rivers for boat rentals, tubing, paddle boarding & kayaking. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken outside the home, off the property, or used in the yard or screened porch. Renters are prohibited from allowing their guests to sleep on the screened porch furniture overnight. Linens and bed pillows are not allowed on the screened porch.
18.RATE CHANGES - Rates subject to change without notice.
19.FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS - Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and if discovered prior to the reservation, the party will not be permitted to check-in.
20.WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS - Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance.
(URL HIDDEN) agrees to pay by credit card or other means acceptable to owner, any additional charges for violations of these rules and regulations or other damages that are in excess of the security deposit.
By Signing Below, I agree to all terms and conditions of this agreement. I agree to provide copies of these rules and regulations to all guests in my party who will be staying at or visiting the property. I take full responsibility for my actions and the actions of all other guests and visitors relating to the property and their compliance of these rules and regulations. GUESTS USING AN ONLINE BOOKING PLATFORM ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A PHYSICAL SIGNATURE ON THIS FORM, AND INSTEAD ACKNOWLEDGE THROUGH THEIR BOOKING THAT THEY HAVE CLICKED TO AGREE TO ALL TERMS CONTAINED THEREIN.
I love entertaining friends and family and hosting guests. I have a degree in Architecture but do not get the opportunity in my professional life to use it. Through property investments and renovations I get to utilize my design skills and attention to detail. I love remodeling properties and seeing spaces change. When traveling I like to splurge on luxury or historically interesting spaces. My hotel or residence, while out of town, must be relaxing and pampering. Traveling for me is all about experiencing the local culture and flavor, especially regional cafes & bars.
