Antonella was there to meet us and had kept in touch during the day before our arrival but her English is minimal and our Italian same. The house is a long way out in the country. We arrived very tired after a long drive. We had booked the apartment as shown in the listing. When we arrived we had to accept a double bedroom with a bathroom in the hall. No problem there. BUT there was no kitchen to cook our evening meal so we had to cook it outside, in the yard, on our little single burner gas cooker. Mosquitoes nearly ate us alive while we did it. We expected a refrigerator as shown in the listing (as we carry food with us) but had to use one in a cellar under the house. (Lucky for getting that). I had sent her an email to check we were in the apartment. Antonella claimed she had told us about the change but her message only said that she did not use the kitchen in the apartment so we assumed it was for our sole use only. If all the info on the listing shows an apartment, if the confirmation of the booking only shows the same apartment and calls it 'your bright, spacious apartment' then we naturally expected an apartment. We think she had booked someone else in there who was staying several days instead of giving it to us as we had only booked one day. We agree she is very helpful. but Antonella needs to have 2 separate listings! We were VERY unhappy. We were still charged E35 for a E20 back-packer accommodation. I can only assume all the positive reviews are from people who were in the apartment. Unfortunately we were NOT!

Dear Ms. Julie, the latest reviews that you see, are of his own accommodation, oddly everyone understood my poor English. Thank tips of his exquisite, it was a pleasure to host it, so I hope to see you again.

Antonella is very kind and responsible host. She was waiting for us and each day contacted us through whats up asking whether there is something we need. Appartment looks exactly as you can see on pictures. It is very comfortable and there is everything you need to feel convenient. Highly recommended for people who like vacation in small cities.

I came to Antonella's place because I needed a place to work and to fix our dinner and to sleep. What I got was that and a very welcoming, smiling host. The apartment is as described in the photos and text. You find here all you need - kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, even a separate room for having your food if you like. Thank you Antonella.

Our two week stay in this clean and comfortable apartment was fabulous! We felt right at home and Antonella was the perfect host. The setting was private with plenty of room for our family, including a back yard with a hammock and laundry facilities. There was also a public bus which took us to Mirandola and nearby towns three times a day. The local residents were very courteous, friendly and welcomed us at every moment. My children made many friends with kids their own age, played soccer games at night, and we all spent many nights enjoying gelato at midnight with Antonella. San Martino Spino is a small village with a big heart, this apartment was as comfortable as my own home and our host was always generous, kind and very helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. We were sad to leave this lovely stay...thank you so much Antonella!

Antonella is a wonderful and sweet woman! She is full of laughter and is very thoughtful. We shared the apartment with Antonella and one other woman. We all had such a great time together....eating dinner, drinking wine, laughing. The kitchen has pans, coffee makers, dishes and utensils and a fridge. Everything you need to cook meals. We always look for kitchens we can use and cook because we travel so much we prefer to cook. The bedroom was a good size and the bed was comfortable. It got pretty cold out and Antonella gave us a space heater that works VERY WELL. We had a private bathroom that was next to our room. It was very functional. The location is a quiet town and has a pizza place and small market. We enjoy quiet country apartments versus cities. Antonella owns the gelatto shop and shared her ice cream with us. Yum! This is more of a private room with full access to the house. Even with that, it is wonderful and is recommended. The value is excellent and the home is very comfortable.

Antonella was a wonderful host and we really enjoyed our stay in her apartment. It is a great base from which to explore the area and more than reasonably priced - it is exceptional value for a very modest cost and definitely worth more than the money that we paid. [Antonella, you should raise your tariff a little! :)] Everything worked, the apartment was spotlessly clean and the bed was firm and very comfortable. Antonella couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, her friend Laura was on hand to assist with English translations and Antonella's little dog Giorgio provided a cheerful welcome every time we returned from a big day out. San Martino offered all of the amenities that we needed for a week's stay, with everything one could require. Thank you, Antonella - we had a lovely time staying with you!
