You enter one of two Glass elevators with wonderful views as they transport you high up in the sky. Unit 3102 (high 02 units = the best views) You immediately experience magnificent views of the horizon of blue ocean, the entire view of Ala Moana Beach Park and all the beauty beyond. Great location. Close to everything but not in the middle of the most touristy area. Busses stop on the road the apartment is so you can use them as an alternative to renting a car. Walking distance from all the shops and restaurants of Waikiki. Apartment was like promised. Kurt was very attentive to our needs and responsive if we had a question. We liked the busy beaches of Waikiki but found that toward Ala Moana shopping center, within less than 1 mile there are beaches that are great and have no people. Ala Moana Center within walking distance. Good experience.
My husband and I stayed here for over a month. Everything was just as described. The bed was quite large and as the singles were pulled together it is probably the size of a queen bed. Very comfy! We did a fair amount of cooking in our room without any problems although the fridge is quite small. Kurt was wonderful and quick to respond. Although we never met him it feels like we did as we emailed many times. Kurt is truly the best host ever! Thanks Kurt for everything! Your kindness has been very much appreciated! The view is awesome! You will not be disappointed! For the price and the view we would not hesitate to stay here again! Paradise!
We arranged an early check-in time with Kurt and requested to have an iron and ironing board available when we arrived to prepare for an event and he accommodated us; everything described on his condo rental was accurate except that you cannot describe how nice a host can be - he provided us with exceptional customer services to ensure that we had an enjoyable stay there. The view from the condo was exceptional and the location was central to walking to the beaches, shopping and restaurants (take this from a person that was born and raised in Honolulu and knows that city). Be sure to check the cabinets as there are boogie boards, beach chairs and mats that you can use; we almost missed them.
While one elevator was not operable during our stay Kurt was nice to acknowledge that and made some other arrangements with us; the other elevator was being tested for operation as we left so this might not be an issue in the future.
We did not meet Kurt personally but communication with him through emails that were prompt and courteous.

I lived the magical island experience for the whole October 2014 month. It was a very good experience overall. I chose this studio mainly for the location and for the cost. It was really worth every penny.
As a bonus, you get a wonderfull view. As a minus, there were problems with the elevators.
Kurt is a Superhost for a good reason–he is on top of his stuff! I communicated with him for months prior to staying at the Magical Island Experience and he was incredibly responsive during the whole process. He gave detailed information for getting to the room, checking in, checking out and even graciously let me check in early and check out late. The room is well stocked with cooking and cleaning supplies, bus schedules and beach gear. The views are gorgeous, the place is clean, and the price is right. I'd stay here again without hesitation.
Overall great experience with a great view and can't beat the location! Walking distance to the mall and Waikiki area. The owner was wry responsive to all questions and concerns.
The only negative experience was that one elevator was broken for the whole week we were there. Only one elevator for that building was very inefficient! We waited for the elevator for over 10min and there were tons of people waiting to get on. Plus having to stop at every single floor was very frustrating. We decided that it was going to be faster for us to climb 31 flights of stairs with our luggage the first day...we were definitely sweating our butts off! The positive was that the owner was very understanding and provided us with a free mealie him...that was very nice of the owner even tho it was a building issue...not an issue with the room. It was a little frustrating the rest of the week since we had to allot 15-20min from leaving the room to getting down to the lobby due to only having one elevator. But outside of this issue everything else was a positive experience =)
The elevator issue is also the only reason why the unit $99/ night and not $125 plus 13.75 % tax which would come to about $140 +. I guess that would be a $200 savings over 5 night minimum. Its a bargain for the guests that stay there when both elevators are working well which is most of the time and you can check this by reading all the reviews collectively.
Magical Island is fantastic and so are the views, Kurt is very nice and helpful.
