Rachel was prompt in communications and really helpful with suggestions about the fabulous neighborhood. We arrived earlier than we planned but Rachel was fine about us dropping our bags off. The apartment is right in the middle of the LES -- near Seward Park Library and a hop away from a great comedy story, United Citizens Brigade, and loads of excellent restaurants -- even for picky vegans! There's even a coffee shop -- Ost -- next door! We walked everywhere, took the subway and buses everywhere. It was such a pleasure to come back to Rachel's flat and relax. We had extremely muggy weather, but the air conditioner worked well. We'd definitely come back here -- this is an absolute gem of a place.

Even lovelier than we thought it would be! Great location, a lot of space (especially for NY), and it really felt like home at the end of each work day on our business trip. It was very convenient for subway travel and a lot of great restaurants are nearby.

If you Like the L.E.S, this is a perfect cozy corner to enjoy. Rachel's apartment is a welcoming, confortable, affordable and convenient place to stay and feel like home. It is walkable and you will find from Bakeries, groceries stores and Pizzas to a CVS. Dry Cleaner and Public Transportation in less than the perimeter of a block. Rachel's home/apartment is a place you will enjoy.

The host was very willing to accommodate us for anything we needed(the only time we contacted her was for an additional heater). The was two total that kept the apartment very warm. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, the bathroom was nice but no shower door.. a bit different but it worked, and everything worked. As females we felt very secure with all the locks ( 4 doors to walk through before you got into the actual apartment ) and the host lived upstairs. There's a cvs , grocery, bakery, cafe , corner store, a carry-out, bank, chicken spot, and nail salon. A lot of stores were conveniently located near the apartment. It's a few minute away from Chinatown ( it's walking distance if you don't mind about a 20-30 minute walk). The intersection next to the apartment also has a great view of the One World Trade Center. We were close to Brooklyn bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge Pier and didn't take us long (as long as traffic was moving) to get to areas like soho, times, square , and Hell's Kitchen area. I would say it's a pretty good location to be I. If you plan to stay in lower manhattan . There is also a patio in the back that would be good for use in the summer. And lots of food natural lighting in the house too :)

Our stay at Rachel's was great. The apartment is comfortable (excellent beds), clean and cozy. The photos, while accurate, don't really do the place justice. One bedroom is quite large. Rachel met us, showed us around and was welcoming and friendly. She lives in the building and, although we had no reason to contact her during our stay, is available if needed. The neighborhood is just right for us, since our daughter lives very close-by. Also, there are lots of good restaurants, bars and shops. Seward Park is about a ten-minute walk away. I would definitely book this apartment again and highly recommend it.
