The room in my home is in a quiet neighborhood. Walk to the Shops at the Old Mill, easy access to Mt Bachelor, walk to the Deschutes River trail and restaurants. View of the Cascades, easy parking, wi-fi, full kitchen access. Addt'l room available.
My home is clean and quiet. There is a second bedroom which can be reserved with the main bedroom for $25. It has a trundle bed so accommodates 2 persons. It is NOT rented separately. The bathroom is in the hall just outside the bedroom door, and is for the exclusive use of the guest. I'm seldom home so you will have lots of privacy.
Guests have access to all portions of the home except the master bedroom. Since I live here, it is fully stocked with all spices, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and whatever else you could desire in a kitchen. There is a gas grill on the patio, lawn furniture to enjoy the sun in the summer, a water feature to soothe your soul, a fire pit, a horseshoe pit, and a large grass area. I have 2 bikes, and a canoe. 2 kayaks may be available but I use them alot so please ask if they're available when you are visiting.
Interaction with Guests
I am happy to socialize with guests but prefer to stay out of the guests way unless requested for information. I don't want to make the guests feel like I'm in their space however I'm always good for conversation and to give recommendations for activities in the area.
I live in a neighborhood that is close to a lot of what Bend has to offer. You can walk to the river, access to Mt. Bachelor is a minute away, the Shops at the Old Mill are within walking distance. I'm on a half acre, close to town, yet within 5 minutes of downtown. There are 3 public parks within a 2-5 minute walk from my home. The Deschutes River is less than 5 minutes away.
There is bus service 2 blocks from my home on Brookswood. This is about a 5 minute walk. Access to the parkway (Hwy 97) is a 2 minute drive. I have the convenience of easy access but without the noise and bustle of living on a busy street.
Other Things to Note
Although I live in the home I am gone so much of the day, whether it is a weekday or weekends, you would have the home pretty much to yourself. If you book over the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend you will have the house to yourself completely. I do have a well behaved dog and a cat. My dog goes everywhere with me and is not a problem for guests. My cat won't be seen as she doesn't like people. I'm just mentioning both for anyone with allergies.
No smoking. Pets need to be pre-approved. You are welcome to use the kitchen. Parties with other people coming to the house would need to be discussed and pre-approved. No loud noise after midnight. I'm pretty flexible. Standard rules of respect would be expected.
The only disconcerting thing about staying here was knowing that Robin was not my real family, even though my experience here was as if we were.
Mahalo, Robin, for making your home ours. Kalalea and I enjoyed it immensely!
Very nice place to stay and very close to everything Bend. We had a great time on our trip and our host was very nice and helpful through the booking all the way up to our departure.
Robin was a great host and the room was exactly as advertised. It was only a few minutes drive to a lot of local brewpubs. Easy and short enough drive to Bachelor as well.
Robin was a very friendly and ingratiating host and her house was a very good jumping off point for our stay in Bend.
I really enjoyed staying at Robin's house. I truly felt like I was at home. The location is great -- a short walk to the Old Mill and river trails. I hope to return soon!
Robin is such a wonderful Airbnb host. She preemptively informed me of an impending winter storm prior to us leaving to go on our trip, saving us the potential danger of traveling in serious snow, and she refunded our money without question. We will definitely stay with her next time the weather is better.
Our stay at Robin's exceed our expectations. Her home was warm and comfortable, and she offered wonderful hospitality! The neighborhood is convenient to the Old Mill district and the river, and is great for walking. Her dog, Tika, was a sweetheart and gave my standoffish dog the space he needed. I would definitely recommend a stay a Robin's house!
I moved to Bend in 1999 after spending 27 years in Hawaii and growing up in Incline Village, North Lake Tahoe. I love the mountains, lakes and rivers and most anyplace in the great outdoors. I'm familiar with most any outdoor adventure that you'd like to try while in Bend and can recommend hiking trails, kayak lakes and rivers, mountain biking trails, brewpubs to quench your thirst, great restaurants, and most any other activity, whether it be backpacking, local theater or a quiet park to enjoy the sunshine. (I have a canoe and bikes for your use in the summer.)
I have a beautiful, well behaved German Shepherd. She has no territorial, possessive or protective aspects to her. She goes everywhere with me and greets everyone with respect. She comes with references if anyone is concerned.
I'm very easy going. I'm gone during the day when I'm not working, always on the go. I hike, backpack, ski, x-country ski, showshoe and most any other outdoor sport that brings people to this beautiful part of the Northwest.
My house is user friendly. I have a woodstove, which keeps it toasty warm in winter. It also has electric forced air heat and the bedroom has an additional space heater if like your area really warm.
I finally got A/C this summer as most people don't like to be told to go jump in the river if they're too hot. The bedroom and living room both have portable air conditioners to keep things cooled off.
I try to be honest with what I have to offer. I have a clean home in a very convenient area. My home is on a half acre right in town. You can look out the window and see what the weather is in the mountains, watch the mountains turn pink in the morning sunrise and watch the gorgeous sunsets. You can enjoy all that Bend has to offer from my doorstep. Come stay with me!
**Please take note that this is a mountain town, can get extreme snow and weather conditions and the county does not always clear the streets the way we would like in the winter. I keep my driveway clear in the winter but the road to the driveway, even though short, can be difficult with extreme snowfall. Check the weather report prior to travel.
