About this listing
Located at the end of a beautiful hilly street 5-10 minutes from every cool area in Nashville. 3 bedrooms (1 queen bed, 2 full and 2 queen air mattresses, and plenty of couches and floor) and 2 bathrooms. We are pet, band, party and family friendly.
We lovingly call our house "the mansion" because it's the biggest house we've ever owned! Even with a 2400 sq. foot, open floor plan, it feels cozy and sweet... probably because of all the good times that have gone on here :). It was built in 1979 and has never had a big renovation, so it is not fancy, but it is immaculately clean and it has everything that counts: lots of big windows, two-story high ceilings and a great layout for small groups and big ones.
We have 3 real beds, 2 air mattresses, and 1 regular and 1 L shaped couch, which is how we calculate the beds and capacity. We also have a pack and play for babies or toddlers and plenty of space for your own air mattresses and sleeping bags if you wish.
Pets are welcome, with a $75 pet fee!
Downstairs we have a master suite with private walk-in closet and bathroom. There is a full-size bed and a comfy couch in this room as well as a desk to work on. Upstairs we have 2 smaller bedrooms that share a bathroom. One has a queen bed and one has a full bed. Both rooms also have closets with room to hang your clothes. The bedroom with the queen bed has a 37" HD TV hooked up to an Apple TV (no cable). There are only 2 bathrooms in the house and neither is accessible without first going through a bedroom! In between the upstairs bedrooms is a linen closet fully stocked with extra sheets and blankets for guests who would need to sleep on the floor or couch. Upstairs there is a loft with a pool table, ready to play, with all the necessary accessories as well as plenty of room for our heavy-duty, super comfy queen air mattress. Downstairs the living room has a brand new sectional couch that is great for sleeping on. There is also a cute, red fireplace and a stereo hooked up to an Apple Airplay devise. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and appliances ready to use, including a washer/dryer. We especially love the gray, concrete countertops - my husband poured them for me for my birthday!! The dining room has a big, solid wood table that's great for big groups to eat together, but if you're a couple or one person, the bar is a great place to eat too. We have a small back patio with a gas grill and wrought iron patio set that is accessible from the living room and the master suite. There is a spot open in our basement-level parking garage if you'd like to use it. We have never had any issues with parking on the street out front, but the covered option is available and convenient during the rainier seasons!
Interaction with Guests
When we are in Nashville we live in this house, so if you are a guest, we will be in Austin, TX at our other residence. My house manager Sarah is available 24/7 for questions over the phone (best reached through text or email). My neighbor, Brian, will be in town if you have any immediate questions or concerns. If you need any further assistance and cannot reach them, please feel free to call me, I will help you out long distance as best I can!
We love our neighborhood because it is centrally located but also has a secluded feel. Our house is at the end of a hilly, tree-lined, no-outlet street right off of Murfreesboro Road. All the lots have huge front yards and all the houses are quaint and old. We are 1.1 miles from the intersection of 3 of the major highways in Nashville and a 10-15 minute drive from downtown, music row, 5-points (East Nashville), Opryland and the Vanderbilt/Belmont area. Basically, it's easy and fast to get everywhere. We also happen to have the best Mexican food in Nashville at the end of our street. Be sure to go to Lopez Tacos Y Mariscos and order the chicken.
There is a bus stop that is under a mile walk from our house, but I definitely recommend renting a car, if possible. In general, getting around in Nashville without a car is a big chore, unless you are in the college areas and you have a bike! A cab ride into the city is about $10-$15, and Lyft and Uber are also available in the area.
Other Things to Note
We love our house and it is very clean and comfortable, but it is not a luxurious resort! We have chosen a rate that is less than a 1 star hotel because we want our guests to be happy and expect well-loved house with an un-renovated feel and old furniture. This is definitely a place to stay if you want to spend your funds on an experience instead of accommodations!
We require that all of our guests sign a Release of Liability form to ensure that if accident or injury occurs during your stay we will not be liable. Our house is perfectly safe and insured, we are just taking the extra-cautious step of protecting our family in this vacation-rental venture! :)
Pets are allowed, smoking is not! Check in is always at 4pm and check out is at 11a, unless we specifically discuss a different arrangement! We only ask that you love and enjoy our sweet home as much as we do and leave the place as you found it!
