About this listing
Cozy 1970s vintage trailer designed within a beautiful outdoor oasis that looks like a real bar/Mexican cantina. The detached kitchen and 1.5 baths are shared with 2 other tenants. The Glamper is best for single occupants - couples will be considered for short stays only.
The space is a vintage 1972, cozy trailer (canned ham style). The inside is limited on floor space, but not on bed. It has a queen-size bed which makes it a great place to sleep, relax, and chill. Due to space I only rent the trailer to single occupants and occasionally couples for short stays. If you enjoy camping, outdoor living, Mexico art/style, then you will appreciate this property. It is much nicer than a hostel or camping, and it is set up with a private entrance for you to come and go anytime. The shared kitchen area is outdoors and includes a BBQ with burner, toaster oven, hot plate, microwave, fridge, french press, tea kettle, and dishes/utensils. The 1.5 baths are also shared with other guests, and are detached and accessed from the outdoor common area. The common areas are shared with 2 other full time residents in adjacent rooms. There is WiFi throughout the property. If you are looking for a unique place to stay, at an affordable price, then this is it!
Shared open air kitchen which includes a microwave, toaster oven, BBQ, hot plate, hot and cold filtered water, French press and all the necessary cooking/eating supplies. Shared full bath and additional use of the open roof shower. Private detached camper with a very comfortable bed!
Interaction with Guests
You will interact with other tenants in the kitchen/patio area. It all depends on everyone's schedule. It's quite common to rarely see other tenants or see them more often. But it's also likely that you could come back and a few people are cooking and enjoying some drinks and good conversation and you will be greeted openly and invited to join if you like. Guests are expected to be courteous of full time tenants, as our full time tenants to Airbnb guest. Friends or guests are permitted with approval from host/owner. I also live on property in the front house and am available if you have any questions or need anything.
The trailer is located in the back of the house and is adjacent to the alley and neighboring homes, so urban sounds are common, but night time is relatively quite for the city. The place is a little oasis in an urban area. There is a gas station on the street corner, 2 taco shops, 1 clothing/shoe store, subway, pizza hut, and liquor stores less than a block from the house. A bit further (5-10 min walk) there are gourmet/upscale restaurants and nice pubs in Kensington. There is also a nearby pub (Soda Bar) that have live bands every night and is within walking distance. The nearest grocery store (Vons) is about a 20 minute walk. But a new local produce/organic market is coming soon to nearby Kensington and will be an easy walk to get to.
The bus stop is on the corner and is a main hub to get all over San Diego. Cabs and ride shares are also available and can range from $10-$20 depending on where you are going. There are electric Car-2-Go at the nearby gas stations which are a fun, affordable, and green way to get around San Diego.
Other Things to Note
The City requires a 10.5% TOT Tax and 0.55% TMD tax for stays that are less than 31 days which Airbnb will add to the final transaction.
Quite hours are between 10 pm and 7 am, may go later in the evening with owners permission, but please be respectful of other guest and fulltime residents. Additional guests/parties are allowed with owners/hosts permission. There is no outdoor storage of luggage/vehicles, and no drugs, or no pets allowed. It is the guests responsibility to secure their personal belongings. The host is not responsible for any lost or missing items.
This is the side entrance (along the right side of the main house). You can come and go freely from this entrance.
