This airbnb is a beautiful renovated house from 1746, in the centre of Den Bosch, with its wonderful canals and 350 restaurants, bars and cafés nearby. Den Bosch is 1 hour by direct train from Amsterdam (Schiphol) Airport. The comfortable house, has 2 guest bedrooms: one queensize and one with 2 single beds or queensize bed. with a newly renovated bathroom. The kitchen has an 18th century exposed wall and is fully equipped. Also courtyard for alfresco dining.

The space
This space is in the centre of medieval, fortified 's Hertogenbosch, also known as Den Bosch (meaning Duke's forest), with its beautiful canals that actually go underneath the city itself. Den Bosch is home of one of the greatest renaissance painters Jeronymus Bosch. A fantastic provincial city in the south of the Netherlands. This airbnb is just off Vughterstraat, with a 8 min walk to the train station. The airbnb is a house from 1746; originally 3 houses, now made into 1. The street of this airbnb is a quaint original narrow street just accessible for bikes and pedestrians and also leads to a beautiful walled inner city garden and playground: a hidden gem just outside the front door. Street parking is on Vughterstraat itself and surroundings. The house has been completely renovated under supervision of famous interior designer Aart van Rooij from Dutchaart, with a great eye for beauty inspired by his time in London, Sydney and Amsterdam. The space has both original artworks from the owner as also original aboriginal artworks from Australia. This airbnb has floor heating throughout all of the downstairs area and at one of the bathrooms as well.

Where you’ll be

's-Hertogenbosch, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands

The airbnb is just off Vughterstraat, one of the most prestigious shopping streets in Den Bosch. Very close to lots of restaurants, bars and cafés. The Snellestraat, another street just off Vughterstraat, is another highlight: this street is packed with trendy, high-end boutiques and lovely restaurants. The airbnb is a 4 min walk to the “Uilenburg”, an authentic part of Den Bosch and also one of the starting points for getting onto a “Binnendieze” canal tour. “De Parade” is one of the most beautiful squares of Den Bosch, next to the “St Jan’s cathedral”. Surrounded by restaurants and bars it is a perfect location for drinks and snacks and to try the local cake “De Bossche Bol”: a massive chocolate profiterole, absolutely my favourite cake and a must to try!

I am a systemic consultant as also a visual artist living in both Australia and Holland. My family consists of my husband Nick, son Tom, daughter Emily. We all like to travel between (native) country Holland and Australia. We believe we are a creative family: Nick and Tom sing regularly in the Sydney philharmonia choir in the Opera House; Emily is a creative organiser and planner of lots of events and I love art. In the airbnb you can find a few original pieces of my artworks. My other passion is dancing: especially Ceroc, West Coast Swing and Cuban Salsa, which I do regularly and I even perform and participate in competitions. Apart from these creative passions, you can ask Nick anytime about anything to do with innovation and (plant based) food and ask me anytime about tips and help with career transition. That is us.
