I spent 6 nights in Delphine's flat and my whole stay was very pleasant: the flat is very lovely, cosy and spacious and Delphine is very welcoming and friendly. She really made me feel at "home".
The flat is on the fifth floor which makes it very bright, on a quiet street. The location is amazing too - in a trendy, lively & laid back area of Paris, full of great restaurants and bars, and it's walking distance from Montmartre, the Opera area and more. I would definitely recommend it!
I would definitely recommend Delphine's place!
Such a lovely flat, full of character, very spacious and lots of light.
It has everything you need to feel at home and enjoy your vacation.
The location is also great, in a nice neighbourhood, close to several metro stations, and a minute away from an amazing bakery that you should definitely visit.
Delphine was very nice and accommodating. Really good host.
I'll be happy to go back.
Fantastic place and Delphine is a great host. She accommodated really well all my needs to pick-up and collect the key, plus the apartment is beautiful and with loads of personality. Adds a lot to the Parisian experience. Who wants to go to a Hotel having this apartment.
I cannot come close to expressing words how much I enjoyed staying at this parisian home, it was the highlight of my trip to Paris. Her charming french style apartment was filled with art and really unique, authentic french decor. The apartment was located on the fifth floor of an amazing old building that had a beautiful garden outside. You can see the Sacré-Cœur Basilica Church from the window. It was close to the metro and many cafes and restaurants. Delphine recommended fantastic places to go and see. Her communication was top-notch. The restaurant she recommended with the garden was amazing! I would love to and plan on staying in the apartment again anytime I come to Paris. Thank you so much Delphine!
The flat is great - it has old furniture but it's cosy and it's located in a quiet area with plenty of bars and restaurans around.
The reservation was canceled 10 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The apartment is in a nice place- in Monmartre, before the hill gets steep, there are metro stations in a 5- minutes walking distance. The apartment is quite charming, representing an old parisian style of the last third of 20-th century - old shabby furniture and kitchenware etc, different kinds of flooring/tiles covering the floor. We have enjoyed the style, although clearly the apartment did not look as nice in reality as it did in the pictures.
The area is quiet, with a few brasseries and grocery shops nearby including a decent farmhouse shop just 3 minutes walking from the apartment.
Delphine was away, so her Mom had checked me in. She did not speak any English, which might be an issue for some of non-French speakers. However, we have managed to understand each other just fine. She is a very cheerful and welcoming person!
Now the pro's:
- Delphine has not removed any of her belongings from the apartment, - no room for the guest's clothes is any wardrobe; her stuff all over the bathroom. I had to lay my conference suit on the sofa. She has even kept a filthy bathrobe and pants (urghh...) in the the bathroom which I had to remove!
- There are no curtains in the main room, and there is a filthy tiny curtain on a bedroom window that can not shield any light from outside;
- the furniture and other stuff is frankly shabby which is not reflected in the pictures of the apartment.
Now to the review that Delphine has given me as it was a complete shock to me what she has written there.
1) regarding her comment about 'toilets being dirty':
- we are fairly clean people, me and my friend, so we have cleaned all our stuff up before leaving, making sure no garbage is left over etc. (even left behind some useful stuff to be used by other guests), so not sure where the comment comes from. Delphine's Mom checked us out whilst we were still in the apartment and admitted everything was fine;
2) noise comments: that's a complete non sense as we were coming fairly late each night (about 11pm) so kept going to sleep nearly straight away.
Though I remember one evening climbing up the stairs to Delphine's apartment (on the 6 th floor) discussing the past day with my friend, whilst a neighbour from the 5th floor climbing up in front of us who 'shushed' at us in a very unpleasant manner (at which point we have shut up). So perhaps the noise complaint comes from her. (You know what, - one has to be prepared for a reasonable amount of evening noise if one lets out to tourists who spend their entire days sightseeing and may want to share feed backs thereupon!)
Delphine's comments were so unfair I could not believe them when I saw them!
The apartment was wonderful with a great view over Paris, like being in a French movie. Delphine is a great host with many helpful hints about local restaurants and bars. We recommend it without hesitation. Zoltan
What a perfect way to spend two weeks in Paris! The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and also very well situated (nearby an absurd number of bakeries, butchers, cheese shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, and great public transit). The rooftop views are the icing on the cake!
Delphine was incredibly nice as well as a great host, available if we needed her (though of course we never did because everything was set up so well), and made us feel entirely welcome in both her home and her city.
We had a great stay at Delphine's beautiful apartment! It was very calm and clean, the suggestions for where to eat where great and we could stay until 7 p.m. the day we left!
Internet didn't work although she gave us the key, but this was just a minor issue.
