The Space

Being an avid traveller I have stayed airbnb so i know your needs! very happy to host you and show you my exciting city...

my home is just 10 mins by bus, ferry or train from the city, Bondi beach. Double Bay and Bondi Junction. Both shops and transport just a 10 minute walk away. Woollahra is a luxurious suburb with exciting coffee shops, fashion shops in the famous Queen Street, beautiful parks for meditation and walks, friendly and safe.

The house offers free wireless, easy parking, a great sustainable garden with barbeque and lots of seating.
The kitchen is fully equipped. I offer you unlimited tea and coffee, breakfast and surprise treats! and my last guests have also scored a few family dinners
The bedroom is sunny and large with your own balcony, television and fridge. You would share a bathroom with other guests if there are any, otherwise it would be all yours. It has a double bed and is opposite the bathroom.
The lounge/dining room are great relaxing spaces with television and lots of greenery to look at.
I can provide a cooked breakfast if you require at a small additional cost as I live here too. Otherwise there is always toast, cereals, fruit and other little morsels with unlimited tea and filtered coffee.
Dinner and lunch can be readily supplied at a small cost.

I am very easy going, speak French and a little Italian, German and Russian.... I'm in the food industry so I'd be happy to create a wonderful romantic meal for you too!!

The price is per room per night, maximum 2 guests in double room. The house has 3 double rooms, individually priced, please see other listing.
Use of the laundry is $10 per load.

The main joy of this home is it is very quiet yet so close to everywhere you would like to be.

Be aware that I am near the bottom of a steep hill, so most trips home require a walk up or down!! There is a worthwhile coffee shop at the bottom though.

If you have a car there is ample parking right outside.

I often head to the beach for an early swim and would be happy to drag you out of bed too! The closest beach is 20 minutes walk to a harbour pool, very pretty or 30 mins to the surf at Bondi.
The park across the road is like a rainforest, so pretty and varied.

  • We really appreciated staying at Ruth's place. It's a beautiful house plenty of light.
It's in a quiet, residential area. You may have to take public transport if you don't have your own car. Ruth was very nice and drove us several times to where we wanted to go.

  • My Airbnb experience here was so excellent, far beyond my expectations!! From a smooth, simple check in to a wonderful hot coffee and luxury breakfast every morning. My clean, comfortable room was just what I needed as a traveler. In-house wifi, fully equipped kitchen and bath - perfect. There are many beautiful beaches within minutes and terrific restaurants. Ruth is a superb hosts attended to every detail as well as driving me around during my stay. She has lived in the area for many years and know all the locals secrets. Whenever I return Ruth will be my first call. My highest recommendations!!!

  • This is a great place to stay for exploring Sydney. Ruth will make you feel right at home and nothing is too much trouble to make sure you have everything you need. The rooms are very comfortable and the rest of the house is lovely, including a deck which unfortunately I didn't get time to enjoy!

  • Ruth made every effort to welcome us into her lovely, comfortable home and we felt at home as soon as we walked in the front door. Ruth was very flexible around our plans and took the effort to guide us around the district with great advice.
A lovely, comfy room in period surroundings and a perfect host.

  • My friend and I visited Sydney in January 2013 for 5 days and we really enjoyed our stay in Ruths beautiful home. Ruth is a very kind, hospitable and cooperative person who makes us abolutely feel at home. She even has baked some blueberry muffins when we arrived and welcomes us with a fruity breakfast, so our first day get off to a very good start. Furthermore, Ruth drives us around and showed us some nice places in Sydney. Based on our experience, we can unreservedly recommend Ruth and would stay with her again at any time.

Her home is warm and comfortable, centrally located in a beautiful neighborhood and close to Bondi Beach, downtown Sydney and other attractions. I will definitely stay with her again.

  • Ruth is a cheerful, busy and accommodating lady and her home is a great place to visit! We spent 5 days there in a large pleasant room with a balcony at the front. Our queen bed was very comfortable and Ruth emailed and asked what we wanted for breakfast before we came to stay. The dining area and back patio is a light-filled peaceful haven and her home is only a few houses away from a great cafe! It is also within reasonable walking distance to the main street which has cafes and delli's, and not far from the ferry which is a 7 minute trip to Circular Quay and the Opera House. Ruth is very active and offered to drive us to nearby places when local transport wasn't available. We would recommend Ruth to anyone as she is a lovely host!

  • Ruth's kindness made our stay in Sydney an absolute delight. Ruth has a beautiful place and the experience with her was great. She gave us plenty of help and advice to make the most of our stay in Sydney and even spent some time with us to show us some wonderful places we hadn't seen before ! (a special thank for the walk in Bondi during the sunrise with Jamaica !!)
We highly recommend Ruth's house to anyone who is looking for an amazing host and a gorgeous place in a great location!

Active epicure! Ardent traveller! People eater! I have been a French teacher, English to migrant teacher, many other things but now I have a catering business and work from home making delicious smells. I've been living in Oz for 30 years, originally from UK... Spend my leisure scuba diving, walking, swimming and lots of theatre... in fact anything that's on offer! Just off to walk a dog in my little neighbourhood rainforest - and it's been raining, yippee. I really enjoy meeting all my happy guests, showing them my favourite places and just being there for them. We learn so much from each other. I guess my motto is to work hard play hard and share our spoils.
