Interaction with Guests
I live in the building upstairs and do not work much. I will meet and greet you and will be available to help you get the most out of your Venice trip.
This building is located on the Venice boardwalk, next to muscle beach, walking distance to everything.
You will be fixed on the balcony, where you will have a rare front seat view to watch the decay of modern civilization that unfolds on the boardwalk everyday. It is a train wreck that you can not stop watching. It is addictive.
If you have to rent a car, rent a small car, big cars are tough to park in Venice. The best way to get around is on a bike.
Other Things to Note
There is a small cute dog that lives in the unit. He is quiet, not a barker. You can rent a parking spot for $25/night.
You will have to change your sheets when you leave and clean up the bathroom, otherwise you will be charged a $50 maid fee.
You must be respectful of everyone in the house, you are not the only guest there. You can not bring home random people. The paddle tennis players and anyone from the boardwalk are not allowed in the unit. All these guys are problems.
Vortexland is a smoke free environment. Smoking is allowed on the balcony.
Please clean up after yourself in kitchen and supply your own food and drinks. Empty the frig of your food items when you leave
Gary is the most fabulous host by far and the room is excellent. Ocean view from the balcony and you can also watch the crowed passing by on the bored walk. 5 star on everything!
Awesome stay at Gary's place! You couldn't ask for a better location and the Jim Morrison room and en-suite were both clean and relaxing. I arrived after 9pm and easily found street parking. Gary was there to welcome me and show me where everything was at including bikes which I took advantage of the next day. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks Gary))
Gary is an amazing host and we loved every bit of our stay in his amazing place! He was super helpful and welcoming and gave us all the information we could possibly need on the local area. The apartment was cool, funky, clean and in the absolute best location! We would definitely stay again!
Gary was a wonderful host- upon arrival he made us feel very welcome and gave us tons of advice on places to visit in the area. The room was very comfortable and clean and the location was great- right on the boardwalk of Venice beach. Using uber, we could get to downtown or Hollywood in about 30 minutes. An extra bonus was the free use of bikes at the apartment that we used to explore Venice and Santa Monica.
Thanks Gary for a fantastic stay!!
Loved the room.
Was my second time at Gary's.
And won't be my last.
Gary is the best host you can get.
Gary and his housemates were absolutely amazing! From the minute we got there until the minute we left they made us feel like part of the family. The house was right on the boardwalk in Venice with never a dull moment. Lot's to do and see and plenty of housemates to do things with . It truly was an amazing experience.
The room was immaculate and I have never felt more comfortable in any hotel room. This was my first Airbnb experience and it has spoiled me for life. We have made lifetime friends out of Gary, Griff, Sarah and the rest of the folks who came and went during our stay. I will cherish the time there with my daughter and thank them for the memories.
Gary made us feel very welcome and gave us a thorough run down on the area as well as being able to use bikes to check out the bike path. Very social environment with great people.
