Comfy single room, private bath, WI-FI, TV, DVD, fridge. Walk along bluffs to beach. Convenient to town, UCSB and bike trail. Safe, quiet area. Free Parking. Coffee, etc. for breakfast. Resident sweet kitty. Incl. 10% bed tax + $2.00 tourism fee
Private room with your own private bath, in a very quiet, non-smoking environment. New twin bed added 9/2014 (not daybed). We are located in the area between the city of Santa Barbara, and Goleta (UCSB), with easy access to either, and a nearby bike path to both directions. There are many beaches in the area and More Mesa Beach is a nice walk across the mesa to the bluffs and down to the beach.
Guests have access to kitchen, living room, dining room and patio for relaxing. There's a coffee maker, microwave and toaster oven available, and a selection of breakfast items.
Interaction with Guests
I like to allow guests their privacy, with friendly greetings the norm, but I happily provide information on Santa Barbara and Goleta points of interest, if asked. There are numerous maps and books in the room for guests to use and return.
It's a very quiet and safe area, with nice mountain views, and just a 20 minute pleasant walk to the beach across the mesa. You can walk for miles along the ocean on the bluffs. I have Santa Barbara guidebooks and maps for your use, and happy to answer any questions you may have. Bed in the pictures has been replaced with whitewashed pine headboard, foot board and a box springs/mattress. I will update photos soon.
Parking is right across from the home in a designated parking area off street. Free, of course.
Buses to either UCSB or downtown Santa Barbara are a 15-minute mile walk.
Other Things to Note
If you've been walking on the beach, please check shoes for oil from seeps and leave them outside or in the entry. There is a purple bucket with baby oil and wipes in the carport to use to clean your feet if you were walking barefoot. Please don't track in the oil/tar that the tides bring onto the beach and eventually onto your feet. (There's a chair in the carport for your comfort while you wipe off the oil using the baby oil and hand towels provided.)
Late arrivals after 10:30 p.m. generally not accepted. Please ask if this is needed due to late flight, and I'll try to accommodate.
This is a non-smoking home. No smoking even outside the home since smoky clothes and belongings are triggers to smoke allergies.
Please bring flat shoes for the house - high heels destroy the hardwood floors. Thanks so much!
Ginny has been a lovely host. She provides a wonderful home, with a comfy bed ones own bathroom. Since I had a rented car, it was easy to get to her within a save and nice neighborhood. I felt really comfortable staying at her place.
I was in Santa Barbara for a 4-day conference, and so, didn't have much time to see the area. But Ginny was very accommodating and her townhouse was excellent: very clean, very quiet, and with convenient parking. Everything was furnished I needed. I will definitely return again if only to pet Xena.
Ginny was great. Very communicative and accommodating. The room had everything I needed and the bed was comfortable. One thing that Ginny's room had that none of the others I've stayed in so far have had, is an electric digital clock that I could see from the bed. I don't know why people don't have those in their rooms, because without that, I have to look at my phone in the night to see what time it is, and the bright light interrupts my sleep. I digress. Besides all of that, Ginny's cat, Xena, is so sweet. She's very clean, friendly, sweet, and affectionate. I would recommend Ginny's room.
I had a great experience here! The room was comfortable and parking was really easy. This location was really good since it was close to the beach and close to downtown as well. Ginny's cat was very friendly.
I needed a place to stay up the coast in Santa Barbara area for just one night on last minute plans. I’d put a request in with an AirBnB host in the early afternoon on Thursday. By Thursday night I still had not heard back so I cancelled that first request and looked for another booking.
I really appreciate the INSTANT BOOK option available at "Walk to the More Mesa Beach,” and I took the opportunity to use it.
Everything was perfect after that.
Ginny is wonderful. She texted a hello right away and inquired about my arrival. When I was uncertain due to potential work demands, she was completely flexible and told me how to reach her when I was in town.
Ginny made it a point to be there when I arrived and set me up to make myself a late night snack in case I got hungry. She also set me up to prepare an early breakfast from the foods I’d brought.
The available room is completely well furnished, a good bed with extra blankets extra pillows, a window to the patio, a computer to use, everything a busy traveler needs. An immaculate private room with a separate bathroom in a very quiet, well kept and safe neighborhood.
I was immediately comfortable in her home and confident I’d made a very good choice in where to stay.
A big bonus in staying with Ginny is that she has very excellent taste in furniture and furnishings, it’s really a comforting treat for the soul. And a friendlier more interesting hostess will be hard to find. She stayed up as late a she could chatting with me, which I enjoyed very much. If I could've stayed more nights, I would have enjoyed hearing more details about her extensive travels.
Oh. Don’t be surprised if Ginny's cute little cat is peeking her big saucer eyes in the window at you from outside in the morning, wondering what you’re up to.
Ginny is a very kind, warm, and nice lady:) The room was really nice, clean, and quiet! and it was nice to have our own bathroom too. It was a nice warm home feeling place.
Ginny and her room were great! I was in town for work, so I wasn't in the room very much except for at night, but it was just as relaxing as a hotel. Fast internet, comfortable bed, and a nice host. The location is perfect and easy to access for out-of-towners. I will definitely stay with Ginny again when I come back to Santa Barbara!
Welcome! I'm a mature friendly, considerate female, living in Santa Barbara, enjoying all it has to offer, including being a grandmother to one sweet young girl. I've traveled a lot, and I don't have the desire to do a whole lot more, but I enjoy hearing of the visits others have made in their journeys through life. I'll welcome you, and show you breakfast items, and give you space, but if you want to chat, that is great, too. This is a quiet, safe location, close to the beach, and I know you will enjoy your visit.
