  • Oktavian is a friendly and helpful host, who was responsive and helpful in guiding me even before i booked the trip, helping me to prepare and eventually welcoming my friends and i to the villa. He was also very responsive in helping us get whatever stuff that we needed.

The villa has nice spacious rooms and an interesting outdoor bathroom. The place gives you a feel of a local back alley in the slightly rural streets of Sanur beach. It's a 5 - 10min drive to the main Sanur beach, and you get to live and walk around the locals.

  • Had an outstanding experience with this villa - clean sheets, towels, hot water in the shower, air conditioning, working fridge with freezer, good stove, and nice clean pool as well. There is a maid who stops by to clean and do dishes daily. The villa is not, by any means, in a resort area. It is tucked away off a side street in the sleepy little streets of Sanur, you will get a much more authentic experience here than at the Hyatt. That being said, It is a good distance from the beach so a cab is necessary, if you don't have a phone all you need to do is use the villa's wifi to email Oktavian and he will arrange for one to pick you up at the front door (he hooked us up a ton of times, anything you need he can help you out). Oktavian also arranged a friendly, English speaking driver to pick us up at the airport in Denpasar for $20, he brought us straight to the villa in a SUV where Oktavian was waiting with the keys and a smile. Don't hesitate to book the villa, it is a steal for how much it costs. It is an amazing stay and I would personally recommend it to anyone and everyone.

  • I can't leave a review on Octavian's property, as I did not see it. Unfortunately the property was not available at the last minute. However, Octavian was attentive, and helpful. He arranged everything for us, and found us a fabulous property as a substitute, which we were absolutely delighted with, and MORE than compensated for the one we lost. Thanks you Octavian :)

  • I had an excellent stay at Oktavian's villa but I am admittedly very easy to please (because I live and work in a severely underdeveloped country). I was also paying a good rate for a solo traveller in a 2-bedroomed very private villa, and I had a lot of work to do on my laptop so was not so much focussed on my surroundings.
The bedroom was grand and the bathroom was big, spacious and fully-equipped. The pool is lovely too. I am not any kind of chef so the single frying pan and single large pot did not disappoint. The fridge, leaking and somewhat ramshackle, held all the fruit, cheese, crackers, chocolates and juices I needed, there is a toaster, and hot water for coffee from a dispenser machine (not very efficient however, would have preferred a kettle). With a food delivery service from Food Panda, I was set-up.
However, the whole place, especially the woodwork, cries out for some lovin' attention. It needs a good spring clean throughout and including every single surface.
4 guests staying might have had a problem with a very small dining table and just 3 chairs. The living area was somewhat monastic - wooden benches and a coffee table, and not a cushion in sight...
This all sounds a bit negative but I am just concerned about how it could cater for 3+ guests, any one of whom might like to cook and / or is bothered by dust everywhere.
I would certainly go back there in a heartbeat, knowing exactly what I am getting and planning accordingly. Oktavian is a very nice guy and was very quick to respond to my only complaint, a lack of light bulbs.
There are good local shops & laundries nearby, and the main drag of Sanur is about 10-15 minutes walk away. This includes the beach and an astounding array of restaurants.

  • Okta and his girlfriend were great hosts. They went out of their way with any crazy request I made. The villa is beautiful and has great neighbors. I would love to stay there again.

  • The villa is lovely, just like in the pictures and the neighborhood is very friendly. The nearest supermarket is just 5 minutes walking from the villa and you can also easily walk to the center of Sanur. Restaurants, laundry, tailor/repair, massage etc. you can all find nearby so a car or a motorbike is not necessary.

The only small minus was that cleaning was not as often as promised, it was said to be every second day but in the end it was only 2 times during 9 days. (one day after we arrived and one day before we left).

Overall very nice villa and we hope to return some day!

  • The villa is absolutely amazing, even nicer in real life than in the photos. I stayed here 2 nights with my girlfriend and we had the villa all to ourselves. The owner (Octavian's father in-law) built the place for his daughter but she's currently living abroad in Europe. The pool is gorgeous, the bedroom is refreshingly air conditioned, and the kitchen and bathroom are immaculate and new. Octavian and Yanie are really nice, kind people and the most considerate hosts, popping in whenever we needed them but also giving us total privacy the rest of the time. Octavian even drove out and brought us back some Babi Guling (takeaway suckling pig when we had a craving) I'd welcome them to visit me in Australia anytime.

Only thing I would say is that the place is a little further than walking distance from downtown Sanur so a driver or a motorbike would be recommended to get from A to B which Octavian was more than happy to help arrange for us. The place has a landline too so dialling out for a taxi is not problem at all and ours arrived within about 10-15 minutes.

We can't really speak highly enough of our stay here. Matur Suksma Octavian and Yanie for having us. Was so nice to be your first guests. You guys are sangat bagus!!!
