Warm, relaxing, comfortable, and extremely peaceful! It has everything you need whether active or relaxing. Your biggest concern will be whether you even want to leave the apartment. Although you share the space with me, I’m usually not around unless encouraged to do otherwise. Feel free to message me with any questions!

Guest Access

You have full access to the entire apartment, except my bedroom, and although we share the bathroom, kitchen and living space, I always defer to my guest for the sake of privacy and the feeling that the place is their own. I am very flexible and work around the schedule of my guests so that they are comfortable.

Interaction with Guests

I interact with my guests on the level that they desire. So if I have the time and they'd like to hang out or talk, I am happy to do so. If they prefer to have limited interaction, I generally disappear.

The Neighborhood

My neighborhood is the safest, most laid back neighborhood in all of NY. It has fantastic restaurants, great bars, and a humongous park! It's a great neighborhood to walk the streets to check out the townhouses and brownstones and chock full of coffee shops for a rest along the way.

Getting around

Subway and bus are immediately accessible and close by and there is much to do within walking distance. Parking is generally found within one square block. JFK Airport is easily accessible by subway or the car service is one block away which also makes La Guardia an easy option.

  • Evan was a great host even while not being able to be there during our stay. His place is amazing and filled with great stylish decor. The check in process was easy and the area of Park Slope is awesome to visit, especially during the night. The city is only a 12 min ride from either the F or R trains and parking is easy to find along 15th street. We definitely enjoyed our trip in NY and stay at Evans apartment. Would certainly visit again.

  • Evan has been a super host! I would highly recommend his place if you are considering a stay in the Brooklyn area. It is in a really nice residential area with many great places to shop and eat within walking distance. I loved my stay!

  • Evan has been an excellent host. Helpful, considerate and overall just a really nice guy. I would recommend his establishment to my friends in the future. Should circumstances bring me back this way, I would like to stay here again!

  • Evan was the consummate host, and the apartment was perfect--cozy, warm, spacious enough for me to do yoga and my PT exercises, quiet, work-friendly, and nicely decorated. Evan and his friend were home the first night and we had friendly conversation, and he left the next morning for work--and continued to be available for questions. Had I wanted a tourist experience, he would have facilitated that as well. He was very helpful with transit and parking advice before I arrived, and restaurant/grocery advice as well. The guest towels were fluffy, the bed comfortable, the whole place was clean and well-stocked, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay with Evan again.

  • Evan was such a great host. We did a last-minute booking but Evan was still able to accommodate us. He also told us where we could find the key to the house. We were still kinda struggling finding the key, but he was kind enough to even able to welcome us at 2 in the morning. Very flexible check-in time (he was sleeping at that time). He showed us all necessities in the house and asked us about the trip. He was a very nice guy. The stay was awesome, and feel-like-home. We loved how the room looked out the yard and patio. The 7th ave near by is full of coffee shops and restaurants and even some Vietnamese hoagie places (such a pity that we didnt have time to stop by and check those out). Such a nice and welcoming neighborhood in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for another stay if we ever get a chance to visit NYC. Strongly recommended for anyone who considers a place to stay at Brooklyn.

  • Evan responded super fast when my husband and I needed a place in an emergency, in the middle of a nor'easter. He got the place ready with a few hours notice, offered wine, was kind and accommodating, and pointed out to the best spots in the neighborhood.
The place is neat and comfortable, plenty of space and an easy crash pad for a few days. Evan clearly cares about being a conscientious host - sent me a text during the day to make sure the room temperature was right and we worked out a showering schedule for the morning. While we haven't had roommates in years, Evan made it easy to share the space.

  • A good haven in a storm! We stayed here during hurricane Sandy; no outages or damages. Close to where our son and family live.

  • Evan is a fantastic host - nothing is too much trouble and he really made me feel at home right away. He's incredibly welcoming and easy-going, and is happy to answer any of your questions or help you out in any way he can during your stay.

The space is really cute and always kept very clean and tidy. There's a cosy fire, comfy sofas and freshly ground coffee on tap. There's also a really big back yard with a fire-pit, so even in the winter you have some outside space to hang out in and escape the city.

I had a really great time and would stay here again in a heart-beat.

  • My mother-in-law had a great experience staying at Evan's while visiting her new grandson from Ohio. She is not an avid traveler and being able to stay so close to us and in a comfortable setting really helped make the experience the best it could be. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

  • Evan was a thoughtful and helpful host. He was willing to be unobtrusive if that was what we preferred, or to hang out and talk. He is flexible and a very warm person.

About
Whether it's jumping out of a plane, touring Italy on motorcycle, salsa dancing the night away, or designing a chilli pepper garden, I love getting out there. I'm an active, down-to-earth guy raised by an ex-monk and an English teacher who taught me that life is about experiences and people. An avid traveler, foodie/cook, and hobbyist, I love working with my hands and listening to peoples' stories. As a host, I keep a clean space, am considerate and attentive, and go out of my way to make people feel at home. As a traveler, I'm a zero footprint guest, respectful, helpful, and considerate. I want to be welcome back and a new friendship is always a plus. Sriracha is the most amazing condiment in the world.
