A true Canadian wilderness experience in the Sunshine Valley. Two hours from Vancouver and 30 minutes from the Lodge at Manning Park, this gorgeous getaway is a true log home adventure. In the winter, ski, snowshoe, ATV, build a snowman, slide down a hill on a toboggan, or snuggle up with a good book by the fireplace. In the summer, hike, canoe, paddle board, fish, ATV. It's all here. if you like cats, bring treats!

The space
This is a private suite in the downstairs area of the home. It has one very large bedroom with an electric, heating fireplace where the bed can either be a king or 2 twins. The room is very cozy and romantic. Imagine low lights, fireplace, sheep skin rugs. There is a sitting area in the corner where you can snuggle up and read a good book and have a cuppa as well. The living room is a large, 260 square foot room with an electric, heating fireplace and 2 fold out single couches. There is a DRY kitchenette with everything you need to make many kinds of hot meals, however the prep space is small, so best to stick with simple meals. There is an induction burner, a toaster oven, a small microwave and an electric frying pan. There is a tub to do your dishes. You just need to get hot water from the bathroom tap. There is a lovely bathroom with heated tile floors and a rain shower to provide a luxurious, spa like experience.
If you are holding your wedding in the Fraser Valley, this is the perfect honeymoon suite.

There are neighbours here, almost as close as you would find in the city. It's a small, bush community of about 160 people that live here year round. A walk through the area is gorgeous if you love log homes with lots of character. There is also a walk along the river. You will see wildlife in the summer, deers, wild birds, and I have bear spray and a bear bell you can borrow. You never know what else you may see. Bobcats, lynx, marmots, fox, martins, these are all rarer sightings, but you never know!

I am sitting in my log home nestled in the woods with my wood stove fire, starting at 4 inches of snow-and it's only the first week of November! And I couldn't be happier. I live in a small bush community of 100 people where we count on each other for a hand when we need it, or just a cup of tea and a visit. When I travel, I love to travel off the beaten path-the more adventurous, the better and my goal as a host is to offer places where people can stay that can give them the same kind of experience.
I am a registered, transpersonal psychology counsellor and I love my work. It feeds my soul. I also make big fuzzy fur pillows and luscious scarves to sell at craft fairs to express my creative self.
My life's motto is treat each other well, engage in life and have lots of fun.
