Interaction with Guests
With extensive knowledge of the local region, the owners, Noel and Naomi Birchall, are on hand to help you make the most of your stay or, if you prefer, to just leave you to enjoy the peace and tranquility.
Noel and Naomi made us really welcome despite us turning up later than we had arranged. The location was superb and both Naomi and Noel are very friendly. Our host was very thoughtful - he noticed us walking to the town (3km walk) for an evening meal and sent us a message on our mobile that he could collect us when we're ready to return but we left our phone back at the gite but really appreciate this little extra thoughtfulness. The place is very equipped, clean and luxurious
What a lovely stay. Noel and Naomi were great hosts. Apartment so perfect and surroundings and sunset something you have to experience. We can only recommend this place.
What a great place - we really enjoyed our holiday here. Noel and Naomi were very welcoming and helpful and the apartment is beautiful with an unbelievably well-equipped kitchen! We brought road bikes and did some cycling - it's an ideal location for it. And of course we sampled lots of local wine!
We had a lovely relaxing stay in Les Julianas in the village of Azillanet, a little nice village at the foothills of the Montagne Noir in Minervois in the middle of the vineyards. This was really a stay with a view. The region is great and very pure. There are a lot of wonderful places to visit like the city of Carcassonne, Narbonne, The Canal du Midi, the mountains and a lot of little villages.
The house is one of the best equipped accommodation we have stayed in and very nice decorated. Dear Naomi and Noel, thank you for the warm welcoming and for a unforgettable 14 days.
We had a great time in Naomi's and Noel's apartment; it's newly renovated, nicely decorated and very well equiped. Naomi and Noel were very friendly hosts providing helpful recommendations for trips, restaurants etc. The terrace/garden is wonderful sunny and spacious. We would come back at any time!
Fantastic hosts, we loved our stay perfect for an amazing experience in the south of France, will be back for sure !
About the Host, Noel & Naomi
We discovered this part of France in 2002 when looking for a holiday home. We bought an apartment on the Canal du Midi in nearby Homps and, for the next few years, spent all our holidays there getting to know the area and all that it has to offer. It did not take us long to decide that we would like to spend a lot more time here and, in 2008, we took the chance to change our lifestyles and move permanently to the Languedoc.
When we bought Les Julianes, it was a long-disused barn in need of complete renovation. However, it offered the promise of a fabulous place to live with wide-open views of the local landscape and the possibility of offering guest accommodation too. We moved in at the end of 2010 and, since then, have been working to finish our outside areas and our guest rooms.
It’s fair to say that life in France offers many challenges, but we are happy that we made the right decision and our lifestyle has changed completely. Apart from the obvious benefits of sunshine and great food and wine, we now enjoy a varied social life with a wide circle of friends from many nationalities. Our daughter Susie is prospering in the French education system and Naomi is putting her teaching experience to good use offering language courses in French and English.
We love this area and are keen to share our passion and knowledge with our guests.
