We have two houses on our property available for your relaxation pleasure--this is the larger of the two. The Lazy J's Ranch is south of Goldthwaite, TX. It is a quiet place, remote, and is located in a compound occupied by the owners. The compound is cozy and comfortable. We are a wildlife designated property so we encourage birding and watching the wildlife (deer, rabbits, skunks, armadillos, and the occasional snake). We are at the very end of the road so hang in there, you'll find us!

Location

Goldthwaite, Texas, United States

The neighborhood is rural, dirt roads. We are at the end of a road so it is quiet (you sometimes can hear wind turbines) and dark. Once you decide to come, be ready to relax. If you are coming north on Hwy 183, you can grab dinner in Lampasas, which is about 30 minutes away. If you are coming south through Goldthwaite, you can also find places to eat (about 20 minutes from us). The Exxon station has a place to eat inside called Cahoots and of the two Mexican food places, we recommend El Tapatio.

We lived in Austin for many years and moved full-time to the country in 2017. Our dream property was purchased in 2006 and we've been working on it ever since to prepare for retirement--Success! Now we are ready to share the beauty and quiet of Texas Hill Country with friends and family. We started hosting in June 2018. In our other lives, John worked in construction and I worked in the legal field. We enjoy traveling when we are not taking advantage of the ever changing landscape on our piece of paradise. Honestly, it's difficult to break away from this place! I love to cook, garden, and read. I volunteer at our local library and am on the board of directors at the beautiful Texas Botanical Gardens and Native American Interpretive Center. John has been able to build his dream woodworking shop and hides away in his Man Cave! We have worked together to remodel all the spaces on the ranch. I love hosting with Airbnb, especially being on site. It affords us the opportunity to meet so many different people on such interesting adventures.
