Try something really different on your next vacation, live aboard a spacious 39ft SeaRay! The yacht is parked at a beautiful marina with lush landscaping, and is located in the artsy, Upper East Side of Miami. Watch dolphins frolic in the bay and lethargic manatees float by. Sunset/ sunrise takes on many beautiful canvases.
About living on a boat:
You are more in tune with the elements than when you are insulated by a house. The water rocks gently (it's a bay not open ocean so there are never high foot seas). The living room has a partial glass ceiling so you can watch the rain fall overhead (totally romantic, you have a better chance of seeing it during the summer months in Florida). You hop on and off the boat from a dock. As the tide changes your hop can be tiny or more noticeable. Around a full moon your hop becomes more of a climb on to the boat so please take this in to consideration! There are skid proof strips and a safety handrail for your protection. If you choose to sleep with the windows open the stars are right up above you and the bay breeze brushes your face. Spend a couple hours sleeping on the bow or stern and you'll appreciate the beauty of the outdoors. It truly is an experience to try at least once in your lifetime!
About the neighborhood:
The boat is situated in a safe, private, gated condominium community with complimentary parking for marina visitors & residents. The neighborhood is Historic Bayside in the Upper Eastside of Miami. Many homes here are Mediterranean Revival and date to the Roaring Twenties, a time when Carl Fisher famously hung a winter sign in Times Square New York saying it was "June in Miami." He sparked Florida's housing boom and the growth of a city that has so much to offer. The residents are a diverse group of artists, photographers, journalists, start-ups and writers. The marina is a short walk to one of Miami's top restaurants- Michelle Bernstein's Michy's and edgy, Upper EastSide boutiques such as Rebel. The marina is 5 minutes from Design District restaurants such as Michael's Genuine, Mandolin Aegan Bistro, and Sugar Cane. It is also a short drive to luxury clothing shops in the Design District, eclectic art galleries and the fabulous Wynwood Walls. The boat is located a quick 10 to 15 minutes from South Beach and popular Miami attractions.
About the boat & the marina:
The main room has a private bedroom with an extremely comfortable bed which is decorated with fresh linens and sleeps 2 people. Port windows provide a calming water view. The side room has bunk beds that sleep 2 people (but we recommend only one on the lower bunk bed) and the living room has a convertible couch which extends to sleep 2. The boat sleeps 6 people but for your comfort max 2 will be allowed. There is a new, flat screened TV with cable included and DVD player in the living room. The bow is great for sunning and the aft comfortably seats 10 people. The kitchen has a microwave, refrigerator, sink & stove. It is equipped with plates, cups, silverware, glasses, coffee maker etc. There are brand new T-top covers on the boat so that you can sit outdoors and still be in the shade, or thick comfy seats for getting sun.
The boat has a tiny shower but the tank fills quickly and can create a soaking wet floor so we ask that you please use the marina shower and pool facilities that are footsteps away from the boat, near the lovely pool area. There is a hair dryer and clothes iron on board. There is a toilet on the boat and an additional bathrooms are located by the marina entrance and pool area (3 minute walk).
There is free wifi access on the boat ( the router is near the boat so the speed is great) and there is wifi throughout parts of the marina. The captain's lounge has ethernet access.
There is a coin operated Washer/Dryer at the marina, near the dockmaster's office.
Pool, hot tub, tree top style small gym, barbeque grills, tennis courts, bright pink bougainvillea plants, exotic landscaping and huge bay views are some of the nice perks for total relaxation.
The marina entrance has a card access security gate. There is a dockmaster during the day and a guard at the community gate.

To rent a car or not?

A day pass runs about $5 and $26 for a week. Rental car rates start about $9 depending upon the season and type of car. The nearest grocery store is about 20 blocks away. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the marina. See our guidebook for places and distances around Miami.

the marina is spectacular, the views ... so peacefull, the boat had everything you need, such as a hotel, gene was a wonderfull host always asking if we needed something, lovely person, definitely would stay on the boat again¡¡¡ thanks ted and simone¡
Ted was so friendly and accomodating! The yacht and marina are both just amazing. Everything is clean and maintained nicely. The yacht has everything you need. Bed is very comfortable. The best part is the pool and hot tub. Lots of awesome little restaurants within walking distance. My spouse and I would definitely stay on Ted's yacht again.
Ted and simone are the best, the boat is very good located and clean. Very very recommanded.
Wonderful experience to stay on a yacht it sure beats a hotel room.
Simone was a wonderful host, very accommodating.
We had a wonderful stay on Simone's boat. Nice and quiet location, very relaxing. The marina is beautiful and everyone there was very friendly. The boat was equipped with everything we needed, loved laying out on the deck in the sun. Access to the pool & gym was a big plus. And to top it off, Simone and her husband were really easy-going and so flexible with everything. Really cool people! Would recommend this stay to anybody wanting something a little outside the "hotel" box, and for a very reasonable rate!
The Marina was a great idea! Very good people there and very safe. i was just surprised not to see the host and hopefully Carlos working there showed me everything. He also has a boat and you have absolutely to ask him for a cruise to see Miami via the Ocean. I have rent a bike this is the best way to visit. 35 minutes to reach the beach at Collins avenue or 40 minutes to reach South Beach. I had 3 days bad weather and the boat was moving but no problem the bed is very comfortable. One advice to the owner of the Marina is to change the blind in the shower;-) You can not have yacht and have a dirty blind in the shower. The Jacuzzi is good the fitness room as well. Very good moment I had there but please Simone meet your people and give them all explanation needed. I will again stay there probably in another boat in this Marina as soon as I can;-)
We stayed on the Red Baron for 5 nights and it was an amazing experience. I can definitely recommend staying at Simone's boat.
The communication with Simone went perfect. She answered to every of our questions very fast and friendly.
We stayed at the yacht for two nights. Unfortunately it was rainy most of the time. The yacht is located in a quiet, safe and beautiful marina. We were able to cook on the yacht. We were not able to shower on the yacht as there was no hot water. Shower room at the deck was an alternative.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a great stay! Our hosts were great and the boat was very clean and comfortable.
