Jasmine, the ground floor suite in Ylang Ylang villa, comprises three ensuite bedrooms and open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. It is fully air conditioned and has a covered patio and exclusive use of the Pavilion, a separate covered open sided outdoor area, with kitchen, dining and lounge areas with a BBQ and is adjacent to the shared pool and sun deck. Like Amaryllis, it is within walking distance of the sea and has magnificent sunset views over Admiralty Bay and Port Elizabeth.

The space
Jasmine , the lower suite of the two that form our Bequia vacation villa, Ylang Ylang which commands westerly sunset( green flash) and Harbour views from an elevation of about 150 feet over Admiralty Bay. It is within easy walking distance of both Harbour, along the waterfront boardwalk and Princess Margaret beach.
A remodeled and renovated village house we were careful to ensure that it has a laid back , chic but comfortable Caribbean ambience with all modern conveniences designed from the outset as a vacation property without the over pretentious aura of some Caribbean island villas.
Being built above the road the driveway and alongside pedestrian steps are fairly steep, Jasmine itself is all on one level . We do not recommend it for severely physically handicapped people or those needing wheel chairs. Whilst children and infants are welcome they will require supervision as the pool is un fenced and there are significant drops from retaining walls.

Ylang Ylang is located at the lower end of the Mount Pleasant road, colloquially known as Belmont Gap, about 150 feet above sea level in an area of residential properties, vacation villas and open spaces, equidistant from the beaches and the Port Elisabeth Harbour front. Like the rest of Bequia serious crime is very rare, the police are on top of their job and anti social behavior is notably absent. Ylang Ylang, named for the fragrant "Channell number five" trees in the garden, is perfectly situated for access to the rest of the island and is well serviced by the local transport system.

I am a retired british Chartered Accountant although I have lived in the west indies for nearly 50 years. My wife is a retired medical doctor, Trinidadian and British. We travel extensively and have homes in Bequia (ST. Vincent and the Grenadines, Intervale (New Hampshire, USA) and London, UK. which we also rent short term when we are not using them. Our primary retirement occupation is property management and we have a number of longer term leased residential properties- our guiding principle has always been that we will not own or rent anything in which we ourselves would not be happy to live in. Our main pass times, apart from travel, are boating-sail and power, deep sea fishing, skiing, classical music-particularly opera and good food and wine. We also spend time in Europe, usually Italy and the south of France. We have three children and five grandchildren who have become the focal point of our lives.

During your stay

We live mainly in Trinidad, but also spend time in the USA and Europe so regrettably do not often meet our guests in person, although we are glad to count a number who return year after year as amongst our closest friends.
Ylang Ylang is supervised by a property manager resident on Bequia , has a caretaker and his wife who live in the Cottage above and behind the villa, and are always available to assist guests. We also have a long term daily housekeeper who meets guests together with the property manager and works five days a week. Once we are advised of guest's travel plans we arrange for them to be met at the ferry dock or airport by one of the two taxi drivers with whom we have built up a relationship over the years, are a great link to the islands attractions, and who will run a"tab" for guests during their stay.
