Our guest house is comfortable, quiet and only 10 minutes from the village of Wimberley. Situated on an old farm complete with a small barn, vintage water tanks, chicken coops, several old outbuildings and the original rock farmhouse, our modern guest house offers a wireless internet connection, flat screen television, a microwave, toaster, small refrigerator, coffeemaker and plenty of dishes and silverware*. There is an adorable upstairs loft-room with a queen-sized bed. Downstairs there is a full bath with a bathtub, a comfortable couch that makes into a bed, dining table and a lovely library. The cottage has two window a/c units and area heaters to keep you comfortable in all seasons.
We operate a small vegetable and fruit farm on our property and share our seasonal produce with guests so don't be surprised to find fresh foods from the garden in the guesthouse for snacking! We also provide good coffee and a coffee grinder.
Our family lives in the rock farmhouse which is near the guest house and we have two young children that enjoy having visitors and playing on the land. We are often out working in the fields and welcome you to join us if you're interested in getting your hands dirty!
The Wimberley town square is only 10 minutes away and our guest house is a 5 minute drive to Wimberley market days. We are located on the road to Blanco and are very close to Jacob's Well, Fischer Hall, Red Corral Ranch, Bella Vista Olive Mill and Winery, Texas Specialty Cut Flowers and many other interesting sites out here in the hill country.
*note that there is no kitchen in the guesthouse.
Guests can wander around our entire 5 acres and enjoy time outside in several outdoor seating areas.
We live in the rock farmhouse that is only steps away from our guesthouse. We share the same parking area and road with the guests and often say "hi" to folks coming and going, or just hanging out on the land. It is super easy for our guests to have a private, quiet time here with limited interaction from us as well. We are a busy family that comes and goes quite a bit ourselves!
Nice place to stay when visiting the hill country of Texas! Amy (email hidden)!
We had a wonderful time at the Wild Plum Cottage.
We didn't get to meet Amy and her family, but everything was perfect as described.
We even found some delicious produce of their farm (cherry tomatoes and strawberries!)
The house was clean and neat. The thing we liked most was the location, it's 10 minutes away from the town and any other landmark (Jacobs well, the blue hole, etc)
We can't recommend this place enough. We will definitely come back.
I had a wonderful getaway by myself at Wild Plum Cottage. I met Amy and her sweet boys once but otherwise never saw the family. I loved the outside kitty and the hammock out back. The fridge in the cottage was big enough for me to keep some things for breakfast and lunch, and the drive into Wimberley for dinner was quick and pleasant. If you're looking for some time away to read or write, I'd definitely recommend this. Oh! And Amy left me some of their strawberries and carrots--such a treat <3
The cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway to the hill country. It was comfy, quaint, and private. The grounds were beautiful, perfect for breakfast outdoors or evening strolls. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone.
Our stay was absolutely delightful! The cottage was adorable, comfortable and inviting. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet. We loved seeing the deer and smelling the fresh air. Amy was so friendly and made us feel right at home. We can hardly wait to return!
If you are in town for an event or planning a weekend getaway in the Wimberley area, I recommend Wild Plum Cottage. Amy was very helpful, and the place was very neat and clean.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Amy's place couldn't be better! First impressions were great; cute clean and well furnished. A welcome sign in the cottage invited us to pick and snack on the sweet strawberries in the garden. The cottage provided a very comfortable two night stay for the four of us meeting up from Houston and Austin. It is creatively built with a lovely, cozy attic bedroom and family room with pull out bed. The kitchen closet provided everything we needed, including a mini fridge to store drinks and snacks purchased at the grocery just down the road. We didn't mind that there was not an oven or range, as it gave us an excuse to check out the local cuisine. We were a short drive into town and ate dinner at a fabulous local place called Kate's Place. Ended our weekend trip relaxing under the stars around a fire built in the chiminea. Super friendly host. Great communication! Thanks again
We have just returned from a stay with Amy, Chris and family and would recommend 100%.
Amy and Chris are fantastic at what they are doing at wild plum cottage they are friendly and welcoming hosts we felt so at home.
The cottage is spacious and the bedroom so cute despite jet lag, busy long days and different time zones we slept so well at Amy's.
The lack of a full kitchen was not a problem as I didn't intend to cook and besides it had more than enough kitchen equipment for us. The coffee was as Amy says in her description good coffee!
We loved the addition of their extremely chatty cat who would always be around to greet us.
We really loved this stay and would return again.
Thank you again for letting us stay at your lovely cottage.
Amanda and Chris
The cottage is lovely, the extensive library is exhilarating, and the setting is a true slice of paradise. My husband and I booked a very last minute getaway to the hill country and were delighted that this gem was available. We will definitely return!
We loved the cozy feel of this cottage. Amy certainly made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend!
