About this listing
Our guest house is comfortable, quiet and only 10 minutes from the village of Wimberley. Situated on an old farm complete with a small barn, vintage water tanks, chicken coops, several old outbuildings and the original rock farmhouse, our modern guest house offers a wireless internet connection, flat screen television, a microwave, toaster, small refrigerator, coffeemaker and plenty of dishes and silverware (but not a full kitchen.) There is an adorable upstairs loft-room with a queen-sized bed. Downstairs there is a full bath with a bathtub, a couch that makes into a bed, dining table and a lovely library. The cottage has two window a/c units and area heaters to keep you comfortable in all seasons.
We operate a small vegetable and fruit farm on our property and share our seasonal produce with guests so don't be surprised to find fresh foods from the garden in the guesthouse for snacking! We also provide good coffee and a coffee grinder.
Our family lives in the rock farmhouse which is near the guest house and we have two young children that enjoy having visitors and playing on the land. We are often out working in the fields and welcome you to join us if you're interested in getting your hands dirty!
The Wimberley town square is only 10 minutes away and our guest house is a 5 minute drive to Wimberley market days. We are located on the road to Blanco and are very close (in country miles) to Jacob's Well, Fischer Hall, Red Corral Ranch, Bella Vista Olive Mill and Winery, Texas Specialty Cut Flowers and many other interesting sites out here in the hill country.
Guests can wander around our entire 5 acres and enjoy time outside in several outdoor seating areas.
Interaction with Guests
We live in the rock farmhouse that is only steps away from our guesthouse. We share the same parking area and road with the guests and often say "hi" to folks coming and going, or just hanging out on the land. It is super easy for our guests to have a private, quiet time here with limited interaction from us as well. We are a busy family that comes and goes quite a bit ourselves!
Other Things to Note
We do have a dog, cat and chickens that occasionally free range our property. Our dog also has a secure area near our house.
no pets (but ask us because we have made exceptions!)
We came in late, so Amy had the key waiting for us, and the beautiful string lights on in the front yard.
The house was cozy, well stocked with amenities, and really just a great place to go back to and relax when you need rest from touring around Wimberley.
We'll definitely be back!
Great experience. The Wild Plum Cottage is located less than 10 minutes from Wimberley. The cottage is cozy and well kept. The property was quiet and exactly what I was looking for. We had a great time.
We had an absolutely delightful time at Wild Plum! The location was perfect, the house was spotless and the property was so charming! Amy & Chris were so nice and really took great care to make sure our visit was perfect. We will definitely return!
Gorgeous property and gracious hosts. Cottage was exactly as the photos show. Quiet and comfortable. Even our furry mutt had a blast playing with the resident puppy. We were looking for a quiet getaway and that's exactly what we got.
House was great, clean, comfortable. The property has wonderful trees, nice environment to watch sunrise/sunset. 5 min drive to town.
Amy communicated very well. She provide us with all the required information, and we found everything easily and as described. The cottage is very beautiful, private and in lovely surrounding.
We had a wonderful time on Amy's property. There was so much to see and do. We stayed 3 days with our two girls and created many memories. We even took advantage of the beautiful property on our last day with an impromptu photo shoot of my girls. Super close to Wimberley Square but if you don't mind driving 30 or so minutes it is relatively close to several other cute towns too! Amy was great and was always there to answer questions or give advice. Pictures are true to what it looks like. We plan on staying again next year.
