In the area:
ALDOs is the best. It’s not fast, but it’s fantastic -- and a great brew.
Colonial Drug on Front Street, across from Aldo’s
Drive EAST on the North Road towards Orient. It’s about 2 miles out on your RIGHT.
Restaurants: plenty to pick from!!!
Dam Pond: take a RIGHT onto the North Road. Keep driving about 2.5 miles and it’s on your left (there’s a sign). If you hit the Causeway -- strip of road with water on both sides -- you’ve gone too far
Chapel Lane: take a RIGHT on Front Street from our house. Drive just past the Church Billboard sign and turn RIGHT on Chapel Lane. Hike is on the LEFT side.
Orient Beach: this is a great beach/grass hike -- not too many woods. Head EAST on the North Road and continue all the way to the end. At the entrance to the Cross Sound Ferry, take a small LEFT (instead of going onto the ferry line) and you’ll be at the hike entrance.
Audobon Society Hike: Just LEFT of the North Road and Main Street intersection.
This space is great for couples looking for a relaxing getaway in Greenport! Rosalie keeps the place clean and gave us great information on restaurants and wineries in the area.
Great apartment! Central location! Rosalie was an amazing host. Very helpful with local attractions and activities. Highly recommended!
My husband and I stayed at Rosalie's place for a three day weekend to enjoy the local vineyards. The location was perfect - just a short walk to the middle of downtown!! We walked to dinner every night and coffee every morning. Rosalie was very helpful and gave us great suggestions of places to eat and explore. Going slightly off season gave us a great chance to enjoy the vineyards and orchards around without huge crowds!
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Rosalie's place! From the start Rosalie was very communicative and flexible. Her place is just like you see in the pictures. We decided not to bring a car and it worked perfectly. The location is in town and you can walk to all restaurants, a local winery and the beach. (We went to the 59 Steps Beach on Rosalie's suggestions and it was BEAUTIFUL!) Our dog had a great time running off of his leash. The highlight of our trip was shucking oysters with Rosalie and her husband. They were both so pleasant and helpful! I would defiantly recommend anyone to stay here. It's cheaper than most places in the area and you get a great feel of the town. We would come back in a heartbeat! Thanks Rosalie!
Rosalie is an excellent hostess who makes sure you have the time of your life in beautiful Greenport. House is conveniently located to any township attractions and you can even use bikes to do daytrips in the vicinity (maybe not at the fastest speed possible). Inside home you have everything you could need for even a week or 2 (you need to ask her if that is a possibility) :) I would go back in a heartbeat! Even though season is pretty much over in the North Fork, we definitely had a fun packed weekend vacation at Rosalie's. Definitely try her oysters, now I am an expert shucker for life! Thank YOU, Rosalie and family!
We really enjoyed our stay in Greenport. The apartment was very conveniently located, walking distance to train and shops. I really recommend visiting Rosalie and Ian's oyster spot by the water! We had so much fun learning to shuck our own oysters! Rosalie also provided great info on what we should see and do in the area.
Rosalie is very kind and warm-hearted! Her house offered us a lot of privacy and it's just in the center of the town, very close to the train, the bus station, the restaurants and everything! And it's very comfortable! I'll be definitely go back, perhaps with my parents! Thank you!
