Description

The space

Its a haven of quiet within steps of a unique pub . You will feel at home by the fireside but company is not far away if you feel like it. You can walk to all of Dingle's main attractions ( and there are many )

Guest access

Food and drink served all day every day in our pub and the best of Irish Music can be heard !

Interaction with guests

we love to meet guests and so do our friendly bar staff but we like also to respect guests space and privacy so we will leave you in peace when you want that! we are here if you need us.

The neighborhood

Within walking distance : Great restaurants , lovely seafront walks , trips around the bay , a wonderful aquarium, lots of craft shops , a brewery , a distillery , an artisan cheese shop , one of the world's best ice cream parlours, a lovely library, a pottery shop, three goldsmiths making unique jewelry , bike rentals, candle makers, craft butcher , folk concerts , a wonderful cinema , and ( increasingly rare ) great record/cd shops. but mostly , great people !

Getting around

All the attractions of Dingle town are within walking distance and the Bus Eireann bus service has a stop minutes away. Organised tours and taxis are available close by - just ask at the bar or in the Tourist Office which is right across the street.

Other things to note

Note that this property is near our pub ( not attached to it ! ) and up 2 sets of steps to the rear of the garden. There is an exit you can use which is private and leads down a lane to the seafront. There is a full kitchen but we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in the pub if you are taking a break from cooking ! If you are a traditional music fan you are in a great place here ! Also we are fluent Gaelic speakers .. We can get by with our French too ! The pub has a police badge display we add to all the time if you have one from your area , or similar ones like Fire Dept etc. bring them with you! The local Creans Beer is a big favourite with us , and this year we have a new Whiskey ( or is that Whisky?! ) section in the bar ..

Note : There are two showers , on is attached to the main double bedroom and is a straight forward dial type . The other is an electric shower and the switch is on the linen cupboard at the top of the stairs . It is hot automatically. The hot water switch is also in this cupboard and has a sink setting and a bath setting. If the heating is on the water will be warm so the water will get pretty HOT if you choose to switch on the water heating too. YOu may find that you don't need it .
Ther are plenty of board games in the living room , and also an iron and ironing board , Upstairs there is a hair drier and shampoo and body wash and toothpaste .
If you feel like lighting a fire please get fuel in the supermarket or fuel merchants ( unless there is some in the place already which may be the situation in winter )

Great location. Your own little house right in the middle of everything - yet quiet. Very clean and comfortable. The owners were very nice. Their pub, which is steps away, had a great atmosphere and very good music. We would highly recommend staying here if you are in Dingle.

Just terrific in all aspects. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away for a little bit. Great quality place, great food in the pub, and great things to see around town.

Great location in Dingle, walkable to all the restaurants and shops. This would be a great stay for a family but might have been too big for just the two of us. The house it's self is tucked behind John Benny's pub along with a small handful of other vacation homes. It was quiet and all the essential things were very clean (linens, bathrooms etc). The house feels more like a generic vacation home though without much personality, and some minor details with the cleaning were overlooked (dusty dishes, crumbs on the kitchen shelves, French press needed cleaning etc). Dingle itself was a little too touristy for our tastes but we enjoyed driving the Ring of Dingle and hiking Mount Brandon. John Benny & Eilis were very quick to respond to any questions we had & were very easy to communicate with. Mike at the pub was also very friendly to us and helpful. It was great to have access to the washing machine in the house & a shared drier up by the pub. Wi-fi was spotty at times.

Mike and Jogh were very helpful in taking our luggage to and from the cottage. Check in and out was very easy. The cottage was as advertised, close to the town, but peaceful for sleeping. Furnishings were basic, but adequate. We enjoyed ourt ime here and in Dingle in general. Our cottage was at the end of a long path. there were several stair cases to navigate, and the lighting at night was minimal if any. Bring a flash light if you plan to be out late.
