Check In
  • The small cottage behind John Benny's Pub was adorable and well situated. We felt totally comfortable with the accessibility from the main road. We were greeted warmly and felt instantaneously befriended by Evonne in the pub when we arrived. Parking was easy to find. The cottage itself was organized, clean and well stocked with everything one would need. The heat was perfect. We especially enjoyed the warm showers. Pub music is on Wednesdays-weekend, so we came a bit early for that, but next time, we will stay at the cottage with more friends and stay to listen to the trad music. Thanks for the comfortable stay. The price was right and we loved the atmosphere.

  • John was easy to communicate with and responded promptly. His cottage is in a great location, quiet and secluded feeling, but you are right on the main street and town, so can easily walk to shops, pubs, etc.

We have a two year old, and the cottage had a good outdoor space for him to play, and the space within the cottage was a perfect size for us.

  • Leading up to our week-long stay in Ireland, my brother, sister and I were particularly excited about staying in Dingle. John and Eilis had achieved legendary status before we'd even arrived and man did they live up to their loftily assigned titles. We couldn't have been happier with the house, the pub, the food, the town,or the hosts. Everything was picture perfect, and the pictures don't even do the place full justice.

We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and had a couple of pints in the pub before letting John know that we were going to be his guests. He led us up to the cottage and we were instantly taken aback at how amazing this place is. Very secluded-feeling yet only steps from town and from the ocean. Great views to be had from the back garden. A little babbling stream was running behind the house. The rooms were charming and very clean, as was the rest of the house.

After settling in we went back down for supper and to hear the hosts play some traditional music. We didn't hear better trad Irish music than that night. It even brought my sister to her feet for a few steps after some prodding by her older brothers. Eilis' voice brought tears to her eyes as well.

John and Eilis' cottage in Dingle was absolutely wonderful and everything made such a lasting impression on us. We have already highly recommended it to family and friends and have only been back home for mere hours now. Thank you so much!

  • What a brilliant stay we had at the cottage attached to the best pub in Ireland. After a very long day in the car we were so relieved to get a huge welcome at John Benny's! Both evenings were spent in the pub with great food, great live music and great company. To be honest, we didn't venture too far from the pub or the cottage as the fireplaces at both we're pretty hard to leave. Dingle is a great location with friendly folk and spectacular scenery along the coastline. Wish to recommend this stay as it ticked all the boxes! Loved it.

  • Lovely place with a great view of the harbour, so close to the restaurants and pubs. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The cottage itself had everything we needed and more, was clean, warm and cozy and we had a very happy few days there. Big thumbs up for the cottage and for Dingle in general :)

  • John was a great host and the place was amazing! Very much of a surprise was a block for the fireplace, flowers on Valentine's, more than enough towels for both of us. The cottage looked like the photos and was comfortably warm, cosy and very homey, I can very well imagine a family or friends staying there. Parking was super easy on the street, the check-in and check-out really flexible as well, and the location could not have been better.
John is forgetting to mention that his pub is the Lonely Planet's top choice of Dingle and worth a booking in itself.
