This houseboat lived up to our expectations and more. It had everything a group of six could need, and even included a bird's nest under the window for the birdwatcher in our group :) . It is located in a very family-friendly neighborhood, which was perfect for us as we were travelling with small children. It is also just a stone's throw from the Jordaan and Leidseplein and a short walk from the Vondelpark and Rijksmuseum. We'll definitely stay here again if we come back to Amsterdam!
This houseboat is super awesome. So nice. Close to very cozy cafe, beautiful area! So recommendable
The houseboat is located in a nice quite part of town, very well connected by public transport. Responses though Airbnb were prompt.
The houseboat was nice and peaceful by night, and it was lovely to see the ducks passing. It was nice for an experience, but I wouldn't return.
Although house is well equipped, and homely, it is in need of some loving care with regard to cleaning. There are cobwebs, dust, dirty windows, I'm all for homely but it was scruffy. While the bed sheets fairly clean, there were stains, and they were very worn, the duvets and pillows certainly need replacing.
The shower was leaking on the 1st night, there was no lid on the toilet cistern for the duration. The shower was fixed quickly, but I believe they were waiting on a part for the toilet.
It was suggested that we'd be charged an additional 25 euro for arriving after 9pm, this was surprising to us. But it never eventuated.
Considering the amount of money we paid for the stay, I was expecting a higher standard.
Thank you Mario we had a fantastic time in Amsterdam. Everything worked smoothly and we really enjoyed staying on your houseboat. Nice quiet location and nearby trams, things to do and places to eat.
Great location - close to the centre... Me and my friends had a great time on the boat, it's comfortable and has everything you need! Really lovely experience.
The houseboat is a wonderful place to stay in Amsterdam, its really special to be mon the water. The neighbourhood is lovely and close to the center if you move by bike, so perfect for us (maybe a bit of a walk if you are on foot). Paolo welcomed us and everything we needed was provided for.
We had an awesome time at the houseboat. The host was very accomodating and we wish we could have stayed longer!
thanks for the review. Regarding your comments on the toilet, I know it is different than in a normal apartment but I can guarantee that being an houseboat from the 80's is acceptable. The most important thing is that it was well clean and about the smell, I think it has been only temporary (there is a reservoir of dirty water just under the toilet, which gets emptied to the sewer every now and then when the water reaches the level.
I will do my best to improve this, thanks for your suggestion and hopefully until a next time.
The houseboat is the perfect way to stay in Amsterdam, its wonderful to be able to watch the world go by from the windows, and has the added bonus that you're not constantly tackling the lethal stairs common in Dutch houses.
Its located in a quiet canal about a 20 min walk from the more bustling central area, nearby is a lovely cafe and its a short walk to the tram to take you to the central station.
The bathroom is quirky but thats what you'd expect from a houseboat, the upside is the water is hot and plentiful which is the important thing.
The heating is very efficient and easy to control and the WIFI worked well too so it was a terrific place to stay with my family of teenagers.
We'd happily return
Everything was great! Next time maybe again :)
