Just back from a wonderful long weekend on Mario's boat.
A family of five and the boat was very spacious. 10 minutes walk from Prinsengracht. We were lucky with sunny weather but the boat felt very well insulated and nice temperature. Good hot shower. Nice beds. Very quiet. The wifi was a good surprise we didn't even expect. Had brought my own speakers to play music but not needed as there is a sound system you can plug your phone or ipod to. We met Mario's friend Max who was very helpful and assured us we could have contacted him day or night if there had been any issues: there were none.
In één woord: pico bello.
A lovely houseboat in a very quiet area. Cosy, bright and comfortable. Two nice bedrooms (where the only sound heard at night is a duck or a seagull), a good shower and a little kitchen.
Shops, museums, restaurants and bars, the famous Vondelpark and the even more famous Grachten (Canals) are all within a walking (or swimming :-) distance. A wide choice of tramway connections in the very neighbourhood.
Mario's housboat (where Max is your friendly host) is quite an experience. Highly recommended!
Mario and Max where great, really quick to respond to e-mails, flexible and friendly. the homemade guide to Amsterdam fun spots was a really nice touch and the house boat is lovely just like the pictures make it out to be.
The houseboat is very charming and comfortable. It is extremely restful to be on the water and it was a new experience. The location is convenient and close to shopping and the center of Amsterdam. I recommend Mario's place for anyone but particularly for those, like me, who are not able to get away in mid-Winter to the Maldives.
Outstanding view from the house. Highly recommended for a group of friends!
We had a great time at the houseboat, it was perfect for our group. Mario and his team were very flexible with us which was very appreciated. Will come again !
Great location within walking distance to all major POI.
Safe, quiet residential neighbourhood.Whimsical, original hipster decor.
We have not met Mario but his representative Max who greeted us upon arrival was friendly, polite and knowledgeable.
Wifi needs upgrade in speed and signal strength.
It accommodates only two devices at a time,
Overall very positive experience! Would recommend and would use again when in AMS.

Hi Ivan, thanks a lot for your feedback and suggestions.
I am working on the connection at this moment. I did the same speed test you did and at this moment is about 20 MB download / 1.8 upload, which is good enough for any (website hidden) call or what so ever... but it is true that the problem of max 2 connections at the same time persists (very strange...) so I decided to upgrade my subscription (50MB instead of 25MB) and get a modem/router directly from the provider which will guarantee multiple connections.
Thanks for your suggestions and feedback,
We spent a warm and comfortable family New Year's at the houseboat. It is as depicted and nicely located in proximity to shops, restaurants and places of interest. The junior member of the family was relegated to the sofa bed in the main room, which he found adequate. Those of us enjoying the bedrooms slept well. The kitchen was nicely equipped and we made several meals there. We had no problem sharing the small toilet/shower, although space is at a premium. Boat living is for the adventurous, as we learned from our crash course in what to do if any of the systems go wrong. Fortunately, none did. Mario wasgood to work with, and his man-on-the-spot, Max, was always available to us. In all, a happy experience right at the water line of a lovely city!
We stayed in the houseboat over Christmas - there was two couples and this was an excellent place to stay. Lovely living facilities, clean, spacious and surprisingly toasty warm. In a great location - quite quiet but a couple of nice restaurants and bars close by. Would recommend this place to stay to anyone going to Amsterdam!! Thanks!
