The apartment on Plaza Matriz is the perfect spot to explore the old city of Montevideo. Being on the main promenade, it can be noisy at night at times if the windows are open.... ( I wear earplugs so not an issue..)
Winfred is a great host. Met us promptly on our arrival. Had the apartment stocked with some basics in the fridge, which was a lovely touch! He also directed us to some great local highlights!!
Assisting us with our baggage and in getting us a taxi on departure was helpful and appreciated.

Winfred nicely welcomed us with his smile, fresh water, and snacks that saved an all-stores-closed 1st of January! The apartment is exactly as it is announced at the site and its usage is very simple and clear. Just note that the stairs might be an issue if you have heavy bags... Overall it was a great experience!
Overall a good experience. Winfred greeted me with a cold drink a stocked fridge with fresh bread and a supply of coffee and some good ideas of how I might best spent my time in Montivideo. The apartment is as per the photos and the description. It is ideally located to explore Montivideo especially the old town. Windfred has/is doing a wonderful restoration job of the appartment and you get a real feel of yesteryear from the place especially when you are in ear shot of the chimes ringing out from the cathedral. There was a bit of a heat wave while I visited Montivideo so I found the apartment a little hot for my liking. The bed was a little uncomfortable and I found the check in times a little inflexible but all in all had a good stay.
Winfred was an awesome host! He was very kind and did everything possible to make us more comfortable. It was nice that he accept our dog Tofu in his place, and I'm glad he didn't eat anything in the house. The place is well located on the old city and very neat. Its a really old apartment, but with the essentials like shower and sink brand new was a neat combination. He knows how to host his guests and we were really pleased that we choose this place to stay in Montevideo.
