Visit a rustic Casita located in rural New Mexico for a taste of country living. Julie and Scott are friendly and welcoming hosts who will help you with all the fantastic attractions nearby.

Response from Julie And Scott:
Thanks for your kind review, Patricia. We don't think of our Casita as rustic, but more like Adobe Shabby Chic, being that it has all the amenities of home nestled in a little green oasis in the desert.

Julie and Scott were very pleasant hosts. They respected my privacy and space. The casita was clean and had all utensils in the kitchen that one could want. I stayed for 3 months for business and this was perfect for me. I will warn those who are traveling for work or take call that T-Mobile did not work well in this town. Overall, would definitely stay here again :)

The casita was a great place for us to call home base for 4 nights while exploring the area. Communication and logistics were really smooth and easy. Julie was an ideal host, checking in by text to make sure our needs were met, offering local tips, inviting us on a local walk, and giving us lots of space. A very welcoming and pleasant stay.

Julie and Scott are lovely people. Communication with Julie was quick and clear. Scott met us upon our (late night) arrival and was friendly and welcoming. The organic apples were delicious, thank you for sharing! The Casita ended up not working for me because a previous long term tenant had left a giant (two-reservoir) Glade plug-in inside the Casita and even after 3 days the odor was too much. I have a petrochemical injury and cannot tolerate volatile petrochemicals such as commercial air fresheners. Scott and Julie allowed me to camp in their yard and use the bathroom in their house while my travel buddy stayed in the Casita. I appreciate their accommodation in a difficult situation but unfortunately won't be able to return to their lovely Casita as it will take months, if not longer, for the fragrance to be expelled from the beautiful adobe.

Response from Julie And Scott:
Thanks for your positive and candid review, Ota. I can only imagine how challenging your sensitivity must be to your day to day life. My husband mistook the air freshener left by the prior guest as a night light. It has been removed and future guests can be assured that we use non-toxic, zero VOC cleaning products and that the odor from the air freshener is no longer apparent, except perhaps to someone with an environmental illness such as Ota's. We are glad that her friend was comfortable in the Casita. We have a current guest who is on a long term stay is loves the place. My request to anyone with chemical sensitivities who considers booking with air bnb is to be very specific, up front and long in advance, as to what triggers them. We did not learn the details of Ota's needs until one day before her arrival, requiring us to re-clean the Casita and all the linens with vinegar instead of the typical Mrs. Meyers products we typically use. I am becoming aware that each person who suffers from these issues has specific triggers. Please let them be knownn for everyone's sake. And blessings to you, Ota, on your journey to health!

I had a wonderful stay in the Casita. Before I arrived, Julie very kindly suggested numerous things to do in the area that matched my interests. The property itself was beautiful, and the casita has everything I needed to enjoy a few peaceful days. I'd love to come back here soon!

We are an easy-going family of three. Scott is a salesman in the automotive industry and I am a museum and interior designer currently working as a sales representative at Santa Fe by Design, a plumbing and hardware showroom. Our younger son is a student at the Santa Fe Waldorf High School, and an aspiring large animal veterinarian. We share our house with Bella and Bodhi, feline and canine, and they love our guests without being over-bearing.
We spend a lot of time taking care of our land and also enjoy hiking, skiing, the arts, good friendships and all the cultural activities in this area. We are happy to help get you acquainted with all that northern New Mexico has to offer, even some activities which are not readily accessible to most tourists. Yoga studios, no problem, foodie interests, we have you covered, the arts in all its local iterations, hiking and biking destinations...even fly fishing pursuits can be supported during your stay. And we are happy to give you a tour of our riverfront property and either explain or demonstrate irrigation practices that date from the Spanish settlement and introduce you to our horse and cows. This is an authentic northern New Mexico home and community...a friendly glimpse into all our area has to offer. Feel welcome!
