About this listing

Our single room is spacious enough for 1 person and offers wi-fi, heating, air conditioning, TV set and a private bathroom, although NOT en suite.

The space

The B&B SaporediCasa is located in the Balduina quarter, on the fourth floor of a residential block
(there is a lift, no fear!) , quite near St.Peter’s and the Vatican City. It is a quiet and safe area where
any kind of shops and facilities are available. It is also well connected to the centre by metro, urban
train and bus:

5 minutes from metro A stop CIPRO
6 minutes from metro FM3 stop St.Peter’s
10 minutes from the Vatican Museums
15 minutes from St.Angel’s Castle
20 minutes from Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna with the Spanish Steps.
The Zodiaco panoramic terrace is nearby with one of the most beautiful views in Rome.

The FM3 Balduina station is only 5 minutes away: this train will take you to St Peter’s, the Vatican
City and Porta Portese flee market which is held every Sunday morning. 2 minutes only are needed
to get to Viale Medaglie d’oro where is a taxi rank and 913 bus stop.
The same FM3 train reaches Rome from Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci) airport.

Our apartment has 3 confortable rooms and 1 bathroom for our guests. There’s a confortable lounge/
dining room where we normally serve continental breakfast, but, on request, we can also prepare a
real English one. Also we can serve dinner with typical Roman specialities cooked by your hosts,
but you’ll have to give a 24 hours notice.

This bedroom offers a confortable single bed and is full of light
thanks to the the large window overlooking the surroundings.
Like all the other rooms it is equipped with heating, air conditioning, hairdryer, TV set and WI-FI.

Guest access

Every room has a private bathroom with shower, air conditioning, TV set and free wi-fi. The lounge is open to our guests with TV set and table games.
Here is where we serve breakfast with tea, coffee, toatss, jam, butter, fruit juice, yogurts and home made pastries and cakes. Upon request we also serve English breakfast.
Again, upon request, we provide laundry service at cheap rates and, in the hall, you'll find maps and guide books that you may use free of charge.
Please ask us to help you if you need it: we'll be glad to do so.

Interaction with guests

Max and I live in the same apartment where our guests are hosted: therefore we are bound to meet each other often during your stay. Infact, we enjoy offering suggestions about the where and when. We both have been working for a long time in jobs in contact with people and we still love doing it.

Other things to note

The part we like best about running a B&B is sharing with our guests their stay in Rome, listening to their comments, answering to their requests. Every day we learn something from them, about their countries, their cultures, their habits.
They are here today, eager to know, tomorrow we might be in their country....

A very pretty room in a pretty neighbourhood. Half an hour into the city but supermarkets, laundry, food all close at hand. Max and Daniela are always helpful and are often available to answer any questions

Daniela and Max's place was great. Friendly and easy access by bus or just walk to Vatican. Max gave detail instruction for public transportation to reach their place. I felt safe as a first time solo traveler to Rome. I added extra breakfasts and it were great. Recommended place to stay in Rome.

Thank you Rinu. We enjoyed having you here at our B&B. I only wish we had more time for a chat, but understand that 2 days were better spent on visiting the city. Hope you found you way to Ciampno airport with no effort and you had a good flight. See you next time you will be in Rome. Dani e Max

Ciao from Birmingham to Daniela, Max, and everyone who read this Sapore di Casa Roma is the best place for people who want to stay in Rome, why? 1. Sapore di Casa Roma has an amazing host Daniela and Max help me from the first day I arrived in Rome. They gave me a very detail instruction from Ciampino Airport to their Apartment with several choices. Max is patient to wait for me until late night, around 11 PM, I arrived at their apartment. Then, Daniela and Max gave me an idea for excellent places which I have to visit it. From the coffee shop, museum, the best pasta restaurant in Rome, the store for buying the best coffee bean and anything. You can ask them what do you prefer it. At the third night when I stayed, Daniele asks me to try Limoncello, the traditional drink from Naples which made from lemon peels. It has a unique taste; it likes Bailey mix with lemon. Then, on the fourth night, Daniela ask me to try another traditional Italian drink which is fermented blackberry. What a kind-hearted host, I hadn't received this warmness on other Airbnb when I stayed it. 2. You will feel staying at a four-star hotel with a dormitory hostel's price!! When I arrived at their apartment, I amazed with room and my private bathroom with a price which I have paid. It is very clean, and it has a single bed with two blanket, TV, air conditioner, big cupboard, study desk and chair, big space for ironing your suit. 3. The location makes everything is perfect The apartment’s location is adjacent to the local people market (not tourist market!), it means you can get a lower price for stuff and food rather than at city centre. You can buy a gift, cooking ware, espresso, Italian dessert (these are the best one), flower, Moka Pot (the traditional Italian way to make coffee), gelato, delicious pizza until newspaper if you want. Moreover, if you want to go to Vatican City and City Center, you just need to take one bus (913), just walk for 2 minutes from the apartment to the bus stop, and it takes around 15 minutes to the city centre. Those reasons based on my experience staying seven days (30 April – 6 May 2017) on Sapore di Casa Roma, I hope this review will help you to decide for the hotel, hostel or apartment which you want to stay in Rome. Have a great holiday in Rome, everyone who read my review, Grazie!!

Excellent host, very accommodating. Due to the business nature of my visit I had to keep late hours and was on a uncertain schedule. Max and Daniela put up with all my ad-hoc requests and made my stay in the Eternal City a very fulfilling one. Thank you!

Response from Daniela:
Hi Yohan. Thanks for your excellent review. I was pleased to meet you and to be able to be of help when needed. I hope your flight home was good and, stay in London, don't you go back to SriLanka: things are never the same as you remember them. Max

Hi. My name is Daniela and, together with Max, I will welcome you upon your arrival in Rome.
I like my job, it gives me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, sharing thoughts,
different lifestyles, travel experiences, every kind of culture. It’s like being on a beautiful journey
every day…, I wish it was a real one!!!
We wish to make our guests feel like at home, even so far away from it. We will advise them about
our city, how to move around, what to see apart from the obvious, what and where to eat: Italian
cooking is well known and here I’m the cook: our guests may have dinner on the premises, prepared
just for them as if they had been invited to eat in a normal Italian family.
See you, but in Italy we say CIAO!
