About This Listing
Quiet and private Rustic log cabin nestled in NH woods with glorious views of Vermont Mountains. Short distance from Lake Warren, 25 mins to Keene, and 2 1/2 hrs to Boston. We do not offer TV. We have high speed internet.
This cabin has a rich history and has been in the family since the 1940s. It is meant to be a retreat from the hustle and bustle of lives that are often going a little to fast. The views have been an inspiration for many an artist and families have found this space to foster a re-connection to the natural world and a slower pace of living. We provide lots of activities for children of all ages, including literature, games, art supplies and recreation.
You will have the cabin to yourself.
Interaction with Guests
We enjoy meeting our guests and giving them as much space as they would like. Our hope is that we will get to meet all our visitors and offer them an experience they will want to repeat.
The Cabin is an idyllic retreat in the woods on a dirt road, yet still close enough to town. The woods, view and Lake Warren are beautiful. We love dogs and the cabin does too.
No public transportation. You need a car.
Other Things to Note
We host house concerts in the warmer months with multi-talented artists offering different styles of music from folk to jazz. The cabin is also available for workshops, retreats, weddings and other events. The cabin is old and with this comes an element of quirkiness which we find charming, as do our guests.
We expect our guests to treat our beloved cabin with respect and reverence.
Our stay in the Log Cabin was wonderful. We met Lindsay the morning after we arrived and ended up chatting for an hour because we had so much to talk about!
The cabin was exactly what we were looking for: a retreat away from our normal busy city-dweller lives. We got to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. The porch looks westward so we were treated to amazing sunsets.
We also took a quick visit to Orchard Hill Bakery nearby, at Lindsay's recommendation. It was gorgeous and had wonderful bread, cheeses, milk, jams, etc.
Lindsay made us feel very welcome and at home, so we hope to come back again and again!
Lindsay is a super nice host. Our stay at Log Cabin was beautiful
Lindsay was very gracious and helpful and her visits were never intrusive. She arrived with some basic groceries eggs, sugar, flour, tea and asked about our schedule so she could plant some flowers without interrupting our schedule. She was interesting to talk to, and instantly made us feel welcome and at home.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes pots & pans and appliances are in good working order. Linens and towels were provided and all were clean with beds freshly made.
Our visit took us through Keene, Rindge, and Brattleboro VT and the location was remote enough for what we wanted without being "distant" from where we needed to be.
The Cabin was very peaceful & quiet, and everything you would expect from an old log home. My 15 year old son said the attic is exactly like he envisioned Grandpa Sorenson's attic in the Fablehaven Series by Brandon Mull.
My Mom who grew up in a 100 year old Farmhouse is completely in love with the cabin. It was great fun watching her walk around in wide-eyed wonder at the log walls, the beamed ceilings, and the woodstove. I haven't seen her so excited in a long time.
If you are looking for a quiet place to get away and a helpful responsive host, I definitely recommend this place!
Beautiful Cabin and area , if you re looking for a true rustic experience this is the place to be. Thank you Lindsay and Dan for your hospitability.
It was a really nice experience staying in this cabin. This cabin had all we wanted to make it a memorable experience.
Host Lindsay is a very nice person and she was really helpful. She ensured that we felt home. I would be staying here again when i make trip to this area.
About the Host, Lindsay
Originally from England, I would call myself a free spirit whose life revolves around my family, my work as a mental health professional, my dance and theatre passion and the next unknown moment. My husband Dan is an architect who recently re-discovered his passion for playing the bass guitar. We both enjoy being part of a community and are excited about discovering the gifts of air B and B.
