Our single room is spacious enough for 1 person and offers wi-fi, heating, air conditioning, TV set and a private bathroom, although NOT en suite.
The B&B SaporediCasa is located in the Balduina quarter, on the fourth floor of a residential block
(there is a lift, no fear!) , quite near St.Peter’s and the Vatican City. It is a quiet and safe area where
any kind of shops and facilities are available. It is also well connected to the centre by metro, urban
train and 5 bus lines:
5 minutes from metro A stop CIPRO
6 minutes from metro FM3 stop St.Peter’s
10 minutes from the Vatican Museums
15 minutes from St.Angel’s Castle
20 minutes from Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna with the Spanish Steps.
The Zodiaco panoramic terrace is nearby with one of the most beautiful views in Rome.
The FM3 Balduina station is only 5 minutes away: this train will take you to St Peter’s, the Vatican
City and Porta Portese flee market which is held every Sunday morning. 2 minutes only are needed
to get to Viale Medaglie d’oro where is a taxi rank and 5 bus lines are available.
The same FM3 train reaches Rome from Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci) airport.
Our apartment has 3 confortable rooms and 1 bathroom for our guests. There’s a confortable lounge/
dining room where we normally serve continental breakfast, but, on request, we can also prepare a
real English one. Also we can serve dinner with typical Roman specialities cooked by your hosts,
but you’ll have to give a 24 hours notice.
This bedroom offers a confortable single bed and is full of light
thanks to the the large window overlooking the surroundings.
Like all the other rooms it is equipped with heating, air conditioning, hairdryer, TV set, WI-FI and
books (but most of them are in Italian).
It is possible to add one extra bed or a cot.
Every room has a private bathroom with shower, air conditioning, TV set and free wi-fi. The lounge is open to our guests with TV set and table games.
Here is where we serve breakfast with tea, coffee, toatss, jam, butter, fruit juice, yogurts and home made pastries and cakes. Upon request we also serve English breakfast.
Again, upon request, we provide laundry service at cheap rates and, in the hall, you'll find maps and guide books.
Please ask us to help you if you need it: we'll be glad to do so.
Interaction with Guests
Max and I live in the same apartment where our guests are hosted: therefore we are bound to meet each other often during your stay. Infact, we enjoy offering suggestions about the where and when. We both have been working for a long time in jobs in contact with people and we still love doing it.
"BALDUINA" is the name of the area where we are: it's a lively and very safe quarter: being a residential non touristic area, you will get a touch of the italian lifestyle: here you'll find every kind of facility and, every morning, a small food market.
We like living here, not far from the centre and St.Peter's where we can walk to in about 20 minutes.
Every bus going by will take you to the centre in munutes and don't miss the Zodiaco panoramic terrace, only 15 minutes away on foot: the whole city will be at your feet.
Our B&B does not provide private parking: you may safely park your car on the street, but there’s a garage 20 metres away from our front door if you wish to use it. Bus 913 will take you the Vatican City and to Piazza del Popolo in minutes, 990 to St.Peter’s, the urban train FM3 to the famous Porta Portese flee market and also to the airport. In any case, we offer transfer service to/from Rome airports at cheap rates.
Other Things to Note
The part we like best about running a B&B is sharing with our guests their stay in Rome, listening to their comments, answering to their requests. Every day we learn something from them, about their countries, their cultures, their habits.
They are here today, eager to know, tomorrow we might be in their country....
Incoming guests will be able to take possess of their room until 12 noon or after 7.30 pm.
Departing guests will have to free their room at 10 am, in order to give us the time to get the room ready for other guests. Please ask the landlords if you have different needs: We'll trry to be of help.
Breakfast, NOT included in the price, is served from 7am to 10am.
Daniel and Max run an immaculately clean and tidy residence, and they're both very warm and friendly. I particularly enjoyed my chats with Max, a well-travelled chap with a lot of interesting conversation. My only gripe with the room is that there isn't a kitchen available to guests - but the area is well served by shops and restaurants, and I was able to put together some simple meals in my room with supplies from the two supermarkets close by. I particularly recommend the Sicilan café underneath the archway at the bottom of Via Seneca. Don't try and get change from any of the middle-aged women working at the Carrefour supermarket, they won't be happy! The area is a real Roman working neighbourhood and really gave me a taste of everyday Italian life. The centre of Rome is a 10-minute bus ride away, and the service (913) was very regular, although it's often extremely crowded. I caught a bus back to Daniela and Max's as late as 2330 without any problems. I was on a research trip so didn't really have time to get to know Daniela and Max as much as I would have liked but I highly recommend a stay with them.
Any host will be delighted at having a guest like Patrick. Given a chance of having a talk, he'll show himself as a man who has travelled a lot, also living for quite a time in a foreign different country like Korea, with a lot to tell about a culture so different from ours.
As a guest, he's extremely well mannered, quiet and respectful of house rules. I'm sorry he thought we were offering the use of kitchen, which we don't.
Anytime he'll be welcomed here.
The place is nice and tidy and the room is good. Your room is tidied each day when you're out - which is great but don't leave anything personal out! There is a three euro 'tax' a night added to your cost. Also, the place is quite a walk from Rome's centre, close to a train station but far from the metro (Rome's trains are notoriously difficult to use whereas the metro is great). I would stay here again but it was certainly one of the more expensive and further out places of my trip. Oh, breakfast is not included but costs an additional five euros.
Nice place, friendly owners.
So nice staying here! Max picked me up and for a tired traveller from nz - it was perfect! Super easy to get into the heart of Rome from balduina. Would definitely recommend, in fact I was only supposed to stay three nights and ended up staying five :)
Vorrei ringraziare Daniela e Massimiliano,
La camera era comoda e pulita e accoglienza gentile e discreta. Cordiali saluti, Olga.
Excellent! Clean, comfortable and the best part - kind hosts with amazing culinary skills :)
My stay in Rome was wonderful. Max and Daniela were great: attentive, helpful, available. I enjoyed their hospitality and would recommend this to anyone. Room and the rest of the apartment were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. I enjoyed the balcony as well. Thank you very much.

Hi. My name is Daniela and, together with Max, I will welcome you upon your arrival in Rome.
I like my job, it gives me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, sharing thoughts,
different lifestyles, travel experiences, every kind of culture. It’s like being on a beautiful journey
every day…, I wish it was a real one!!!
We wish to make our guests feel like at home, even so far away from it. We will advise them about
our city, how to move around, what to see apart from the obvious, what and where to eat: Italian
cooking is well known and here I’m the cook: our guests may have dinner on the premises, prepared
just for them as if they had been invited to eat in a normal Italian family.
See you, but in Italy we say CIAO!
