I travel pretty often so there is a good chance that I will not be home.
If you're looking for a place to stay on a budget- please stay with Jason. Jason himself is such a gentleman. He was always available to help us out with anything, he gave us plenty of privacy, and he is wonderfully social. The apartment was clean, the bed was comfy, and the room was very spacious. While the whole apartment did not have a/c, the private bedroom did, which worked extremely well and cooled things down really quickly, and gave us good control of our own room temperature. The apartment is very close to the beach- just a 10-15 minute walk, and there are plenty of places to eat along the way. Walgreens is also on the way to the beach, which was convenient for picking up aloe and sunscreen.
The apartment itself was pretty much right next to a bus stop (150 bus)- saved us a decent amount of money going to and from the airport. You can also take the bus around Miami Beach rather than take a cab, which will help save if you're on a budget. Cabs are very easy to get from Jason's place, since it is right off a major street. The apartment is also in a good intermediate point between Miami Beach and going to downtown Miami. So if you find excursions or things to do downtown (we did an evening booze cruise from downtown, and it was awesome. Downtown Miami lights are pretty cool from the water, and we had a mini tour of Star Island), it's not very far.
The area itself felt very safe. We had a couple nights walking back in the dark, and I never felt uncomfortable. Nobody asked us for money, and we didn't see any bums around. It's a well-kept neighborhood.
The only thing I can think of that was a bit bothersome was a little street noise, which you get in any city. Other than that- no complaints- I 100% recommend staying here.
If you need a cheap place to stay in South Beach Jason's place is the perfect place. Great Location. Close to everything. Very clean and very spacious. Jason is very nice and helpful about everything. He is always a phone call away. I would definitely book his place again
Our stay at Jason's place was really good. The room is full of light and has a really comfortable bed. Jason was a lovely host, really attentive, making us feel at home and comfortable and also giving us good tips about Miami's night life :)!
The place is 15 minutes walk from a really beautiful and calm beach and a short cab ride to South Beach.
You will definitely enjoy your stay!
There's no need for a long review Jason is simply amazing. He was a very warm, open-minded, and helpful host. Also very fun person to talk to! We had our own pair of keys and lock on the bedroom door, but it’s definitely not needed. He gave us a good overview of places to go in MIA, some valuable tips and advice. The house is a 35-minute walk to Washington Ave/Ocean Ave area and 7-10 minute drive. If the crowd of South beach isn’t your cup of tea there’s also a beach 15 minutes away that is much calmer. Overall I enjoyed staying at his home and highly recommend anyone to considering coming to MIA to stay here.
My girlfriend and I had a great experience living at Jason's. We took short walks from his place to the beach almost every day during our stay and we love that there are tons of food places along the way. Jason travels a lot so we didn't see him as much as we wished but the times that we DID get to speak to him, he was extremely friendly. Jason is a great host and we definitely recommend staying at his place. We would also consider staying there again if we do visit Miami once more.
It was a great stay during the perfect season. I pretty much had the place to myself even though it was only a room rental.
Interesting architecture and it has an old school, art-deco feel. I really liked the area and cabbing from it was very cheap.
Public transit was also relatively timely around the corner.
Jason was awesome, even for the brief time I was able to meet him. I highly recommend staying at this apartment!
Jason's place was comfortable and located close to bike rentals, restaurants and shops. And it was walking distance from the beach. Jason was the perfect host and we would not hesitate to stay here next time we travel to Miami Beach.
Jason was a wonderful and accommodating host. He was very flexible when we wanted to show up four hours earlier than planned. He helped us with our bags and made himself available if we needed anything. His home is conveniently located off 195, with access to the rest of Miami Beach from Arthur Godfrey Rd. If you don't mind a little traffic noise, Jason's 2-bedroom apartment was the perfect launch pad for a South Beach adventure.
We had an awesome stay at Jason´s place. The place is really nice and clean, with a big room for us. Jason is a welcoming and nice host. He also helped us to find some grocery stores nearby and showed us the rental bike station, which is really near to his place. The neighborhood is really nice and well located, the beach is just a few minutes away by car and bike. Just a hint for the next visitors: there is no glass in the windows due to the high temperatures in Miami Beach, which is why the traffic outside is heard a bit. So take some earplugs with you and you are perfectly fine!
It is the Perfect Location for a perfect stay and a perfect host.
Jason shows interest in his guests and is a very easy going, casual person.
I'll be back when my travels call for Miami!
Thanks, Jason. Regards from Peter @ Antwerp, Belgium
