The flat was in the perfect location for octoberfest, the only issue with the flat was we could not get any running hot water, meaning that all of us renting the apartment had to take baths with kettle water every morning. This. Was very frustrating given I had checked that there was running hot water before booking, I was ensured there would be!
Christian was a very friendly host who was very accommodating to our late arrival, he was helpful in getting us all situated into the apartment. The location of the apartment couldn't be closer to the Oktoberfest without actually being IN the fairgrounds! The apartment is listed for up to 10 guests, but I highly encourage reducing it to 5. I was expecting more space for my group to sleep on but there was only one bed, one air mattress and a very short couch (not long enough for a 5'4" person to sleep on). All the rest of the room was for sleeping on the ground. If you do book this room for more than 5 guests BRING SLEEPING MATS! There was also a lack of linen, one towel, and not many sheets or blankets available for those sleeping on the ground. One other detail left out of the description was the apartment is on the 5th floor, and does not have an elevator. Two of my guests have a hard time with stairs, and this became a problem. Overall if you are a group looking for an outstanding location, and don't mind sleeping on the floor and hiking up stairs, this is the place for you.
Six guys over for the opening of Oktoberfest. We had an absolute amazing time as the location is very close (walking distance). Also walking distance to the U-bahn makes coming and going simple. Chris communicated well and we had no issues getting the key. He also let us know when the cleaner was coming so we could prepare for her. Some points to note, there is enough floor space for a lot of people but only sleeping is provided for 5ppl (1 doublebed, 1 double blowup mattress, 1 sofa). Also the shower is a bit of a problem in terms of hot water - not a problem if you are aware of this before hand.
Basically if you picture this is a guy's apartment which he lives in you probably have a good idea what its like. Having read the other reviews we could prepare for this and consequently had a great time.
I made a reservation for our employees at the Christian's apartment in Munich. Please look at the opinions of my colleagues: "The flat was a bit scruffy once we arrived, the owner gave us just one bed linen (which was not fresh at all) although he was told that two people are arriving and two beds are needed. One bed was an old, dirty sofa (1,6m long so it was not comfortable as I am a bit taller), I had no cushion and no duvet- just two old, dirty blankets. The flat smelled with smoke for 3 days and we were not able to ventilate it. Lack of hot water (well in fact there was a burning water for 10 seconds and ice cold for the rest of the time). Tee which we were given had expiry date for 2009! When a cleaner came she has thrown away some of my cosmetics (the owner told “maybe she thought that it was empty)- well it was not empty even in half! Our luggage was taken to the old attic and we had to change there, more over our food from fridge was thrown away. If the proprietor told us to pack everything I would not be angry but as he did not say anything we thought we do not need to pack everything. That was the worst place I have ever been and I would not recommend it to anybody". "The day before our departure, we agreed for checkout the following day at 17:30. The cleaner was supposed to come 10:00 – 12:00 and our things were ok to still be in the apartment as agreed with the owner per text message. Then at 2PM we were informed that our things were “taken away and are locked”. We had trouble finding our belongings and some items were lost. Would not recommend a stay there to anybody and would suggest removing it from airbnb listing"
Christian met me at the apartment at the time agreed upon as expected. Good communication. No surprises. The apartment was as expected and reasonably clean. Good location, close to the center and really close to the subway. When not rented out, Christian lives at the apartment so all his personal effects are still there which is a bit awkward but not a big deal. You can tel he smokes in the apartment too, not a huge deal either. There was construction on the roof while I was there so most of the windows were blocked out and it was noisy during the day. He had mentioned this prior to booking so also no surprises. All in all a good experience. Cheers!
We spent 4 days in Munich during the last weekend of the Oktober fest. The location of teh apartment relative to the OF is perfect. You are just 2 mins away at walking distance. Regarding the apartment, we were 6 people and spent the nights a bit tight, but for the price and time being it is worth.
