About this listing

Located 2 miles from Isle of Palms and 7 miles from Charleston. Perfect place to paint, photograph, golf and enjoy historic culture and fabulous cuisine.
The bedroom has an antique double bed with a closet and dresser as well as two luggage racks. It is $60 per night. There is an additional charge of $5 for a second person sharing the bedroom. Be advised that the bed is over 150 year old and is only 6 feet long.
The bed has quality bedding and mattress. The bedroom has a TV and access to our wireless network. The bedroom is located on the second floor facing west so the morning light is at a minimum. The room is also at the end of the hallway and very quiet all day.
We have bicycles, beach towels, beach umbrella and chairs. Sometimes Vernon and the surfboards are available.
The bus route is a 10-15 minute walk away. Buse run every 40 minutes into Charleston.
A continental breakfast is served every day between 7:30am-9am.
There is off street parking in the double driveway. No overnight parking on the street is allowed.
We have maps and discount tickets to area attractions.
We have a strictly indoor cat who usually is at the door to greet everyone. But we are vigilant to not let her slip outside.
We have a second bedroom for a single person if needed. This bedroom faces east and catches the morning light, but does have sun blocking curtains. This additional room is another $40/night.
Guests have a private bathroom with a shower and tub. A washer, dryer, ironing board and microwave are available for your use. Each bedroom has a TV and Wi-Fi access.
Interaction with Guests
We like to get to know our guests, especially over a shared breakfast. We can recommend what to see and do as well as provide you with maps, guides and discount tickets.
Our neighborhood is quiet. But it is easy to get to the beach, bus stop and shops.
The bus runs every 40 minutes and is a 15 walk from the house.
Other Things to Note
We have bicycles, boogie board, beach chairs, towels and umbrella for days at the beach, as well as a beach pass for free parking. There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off sand.
This is a home with two cats, one a young kitten. If you have allergies or phobias towards felines, our place is not for you. We do keep the cats out of the guest rooms, but they do have free run of the house and love people.
This is a non-smoking home. Also, there is no illegal drug use allowed. No weapons of any kind are allowed. Other than that, we ask you keep the front door closed so our cats don't make the great escape. We do not allow any other animals in the house. We also like to have at least 24 hours notice if you want to stay with us.
My time with Anne and Vernon was wonderful! They are both so welcoming and always asking what more they can do for you! Nice to sit and talk with them! The room was cozy and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was awesome! Fresh fruit, bagels, cereal, yogurt, eggs....she did it up right! !! I'll definitely plan to come and stay with them again! Great hosts!
I was extremely well received by Anne and Vernon; we quickly became friends. They went out of their way to assist me and we ended up spending the next morning at the beach and restaurant. Nice house, really fine people, and we all had a great time. Lucky me, indeed!
My girlfriend Sierra and I can down to Charleston for a couple nights and had a great time staying at Anne's place. Very clean and cozy, and Anne and her husband were very welcoming and lovely to spend time with. Lots of fun stories and tips about the surrounding areas. Breakfast was delicious as well, cereal, bagels, juice fresh fruit. What more could you ask! :) Highly recommended!
Anne and her husband were wonderful hosts, the type that you would want every time on Airbnb. Their house was well located and close to the beach and everything else the area offers. It was a nice quiet neighborhood and the house was very neat, clean and tidy. The room and bath were perfect and the bed quite comfortable. Anne's breakfast was something we looked forward to every morning.
Anne and her husband are very interesting and friendly people. We enjoyed spending time with them when we were there at the house. They also provided beach chairs, umbrellas, and bicycles. They gave us great tips on where to go and which restaurants to frequent. We only wish we could have stayed longer as we felt right at home.
Anne and Vernon are amazing hosts! They accommodated our late check in and made sure we had everything we needed! They even had breakfast with us both days we were there which was very nice! They are very knowledgeable of the area and are more than happy to give recommendations. The house was very clean and well kept. The location is perfect with short drives to Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, and downtown. We will definitely be booking with them again!
Anne is a very nice lady. I have stayed with her once before. THe room is clean and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast was exactly what I wanted…Anne even gave me some mosquito repellant which I had forgotten. A good experience.
Anne and Vernon are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are great hosts and you'll enjoy their company. I will definitely stay with then again!

About the Host, Anne
Anne and Vernon are a semi-retired married couple who call Mount Pleasant home. Although we have traveled extensively around the world, we are locals who both graduated from college in Charleston: the College of Charleston and The Citadel, respectively. Anne enjoys reading, cooking, gardening and antiquing. Vernon enjoys surfing, chess and biking. We have two cats: a grand dame and a rambunctious boy, both of whom roam common areas.
