Our luxurious, spacious stone & stucco house is on a quiet Private Road and boasts extravagant 7.5PH well-water from indoor shower to our out-door ‘mineral-spa’ overlooking nothing but woods of trees and a mountainous skyline.
A luxurious queen size sleigh bed with memory foam will ensure restful sleep while your room is fitted with a flat-screen cable TV to catch-up on the ‘other’ world! Located on the south/southwest corner of the house with exceptional views of local wildlife, not limited to mountain lions & black bears, sun streams in your bedroom windows throughout the day. The mirrored double closet is fitted with shelves and drawers and sufficient coat-hangers to accommodate an over-sized suitcase. Your extravagant bathroom is fully tiled with textured pebble flooring, a bi-flush toilet and a shower fitted with shampoo, conditioner and shower-gel and a hair-drier is provided for your convenience.
WiFi is available throughout our hardwood floor home while your bedroom door is fitted with a digital lock.
On cold winter nights, why not snuggle in front of the wood-burning stove with a hot-chocolate after a soak in the hot-tub? And on balmy North Carolina summer nights, simply stretch out below one of our huge living-room ceiling fans when it’s not quite hot enough to turn on the AC, or on the patio with a good book, and ask yourself “how could I possibly be only 5 minutes from Downtown Asheville, the Biltmore Estate and Mission Hospital?”
Since we are an Organic Household, we are happy to offer complimentary Organic Fair Trade Coffee in the form of a Latte, Espresso, Cappuccino or Americano with optional decaf, cream and local honey upon request. We also serve COMPLIMENTARY CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST between 8-9am to accommodate any diet, with your coffee or herb tea.
Our washer/drier is readily available to you.
Even though we are only 2 miles from Pack Square, the heart of Asheville, we are essentially in a rural environment and ask that you are respectful of our wildlife and keep a safe distance in the interest of safety.
Your respect of quiet-time throughout the property between 11pm and 7am is most appreciated.
Interaction with Guests
If you need us, we're right here 24 hours a day, you are welcome to call us any time if you have any problem at all and we will be more than happy to address it.
We're two Sagittarians - what can i say? We just love people!
Chunns Cove is a world unto itself. We have one neighbor whom you can barely visible through the trees, otherwise all you can see is a spectacular 180 degree view of the valley from the house. The cove is human-quiet but bird-noisy! We regularly see creatures that you wouldn't expect and could easily mistake this place in summer for a Costa Rican rain-forest! Ingles, our local grocery store, is 2 minutes down the road and Walgreens is 5 minutes away.
The airport shuttle will bring you to the door, there is a bus into town about half a mile away, you can rent bicycles or you can walk the 2.2 miles into Downtown. Every direction has beautiful views!
Please respect other guests by showering prior to using the hot-tub and keeping glass away from the hot-tub deck by using the plastic cups provided.
What a marvelous place to stay! We stayed in the Guest Room. It was clean, fabulously furnished, and the bed was totally comfortable. In my book, it could be classified as "luxurious." And the little box of chocolates that greeted us in the room when we checked in was like putting a cherry on top of an ice cream sundae--and the chocolates were hand made by Marc!! Marc and Fay were the perfect hosts. They were very helpful in the check-in process, and they also were really helpful in giving us information on what to do in and how to navigate Asheville. They both have fun and happy personalities so they were a joy to meet; and I believe they enjoyed the guests as much as the guests enjoyed them. In a 5-star rating system, I definitely give Marc and Fay a 5, and I'm only giving them that score because a 6-Star or 7-Star Option is not available.
Our room was very clean and the host were very accommodating
What a wonderful stay we had! Marc and Fay were such delightful and accommodating hosts. It felt more like staying at a friends house than at a b&b. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Definitely recommend this haven in the mountains to anyone!
Fay and Marc are wonderful hosts: warm, welcoming and they obviously love entertaining their guests. Their home is situated on a hillside surrounded by trees - such a peaceful location, though not far from Asheville town.
A 'special' is Marc's home-made croissants, Danish pastries and pots of delicious home-made jams.
Breakfasts were fascinating: meeting other guests and conversations were always lively. A very happy stay and I look forward to being with Marc and Fay again later this year.
The trip was lovely! Marc and Fay did an amazing job welcoming us into their beautiful BNB. Not only did Marc have the most wonderful breakfast with all homemade goods, he let me use his kitchen to cook my friend dinner.
They truly go above and beyond to make the experience simply perfect. I will recommend to anyone traveling in the area and we cannot wait to come back in the summer!
This was our first time using Airbnb, Marc and Fay definitely have definitely raised the bar for what we will expect!
Our 5 star experience started immediately with my communication with Fay on the Airbnb app. After looking through all the photos of the Cardinals Inn property and reading reviews every week, my excitement kept growing! Marc and Fay somehow seemed to surpass my already high expectations.
Finding the house was easy (with big numbers and a bright red mailbox) and I knew if we got lost we could easily get help from our hosts, they have always been very fast to respond with our questions.
The first night we were warmly greeted by Marc and Fay and were given a tour and a box of handmade chocolates by Marc! We had freezing temps that first night so my partner and I made use of the hot tub (which felt incredible after 10+ hours of driving!) We used the hot tub probably twice every day; if you visit be sure to pack a swimsuit!
The tapestry room came with a space heater in the bedroom and the bathroom. Our room was nice and toasty all weekend :) The bed was so luxurious, with clean linens and a super coney duvet.
After a good night's rest we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, and AMAZING lattes and baked croissants. Chatting with Marc and Fay and the other guests was also nice over our meal.
Our Asheville getaway was probably one of the best vacations I've ever had. It was completely stress free, affordable, and so relaxing! Marc and Fay are so good at what they do; you don't always get vacation accommodations without some sort of hiccup! I'm starting this work week feeling rejuvenated and inspired. I highly recommend the Cardinals Inn! We can't wait to return.
Thanks Marc and Fay!!
Marc and Fay are charming hosts and their property is actually better than the description would lead one to understand. From the oversize bath sheets, the spacious parking area, the scrumptious breakfasts, and the immaculate cleanliness, this is a peaceful and welcoming spot more than worth the price. We had a wonderful stay with Marc and Fay and hope it won't be too long before we arrive again at their doorstep.

Well-immersed in the pastry and chocolate world for several decades, there is nothing on Marc’s list of culinary delights that features higher than chocolate and coffee. Playing a considerable role in both gutting and rebuilding this spectacular Chunn’s Cove residence, over the last year, Marc has conclusively proved that watching informative and directional Home Improvement Shows for the best part of adulthood, is akin to learning a new language. Born in Quebec, Marc’s native tongue is French but his English rivals any native tongue and his Spanish makes him trilingual. Not without her artistic inheritance, Fay’s world is defined as a pleasurable balance between entrepreneur and artist, commencing with a decade of international business travel in her 20’s, evolving to a decade of motherhood punctuated by a successful decade in the office. Now the time is ripe to spread those four Sagittarian wings for this highly motivated couple, eager to explore exciting new ventures.
