Our spacious stone & stucco house is on a quiet Private Road and boasts extravagant 7.5PH well-water from your indoor shower to our out-door ‘mineral-spa’ overlooking nothing but woods of trees and a mountainous skyline.
A luxurious queen size sleigh bed will ensure restful sleep while your room is fitted with a flat-screen cable TV to catch-up on the ‘other’ world, with access to U-verse on HDMI 1 and Netflix & Amazon on HDMI 2 via Roku2. Located on the south/southwest corner of the house with exceptional views of local wildlife not limited to mountain lions & black bears, sun streams in your bedroom windows throughout the day. The mirrored-door double closet is fitted with shelves and drawers, a suitcase rack and sufficient coat-hangers to accommodate an over-sized suitcase. Your extravagant bathroom is fully tiled with textured pebble flooring and fitted with a bi-flush toilet, laundry hamper for used hot-tub towels, a shower with shampoo, conditioner and shower-gel and a hair-drier for your convenience.
WiFi is available throughout our hardwood floor home while the house door and your bedroom door are both fitted with a digital lock.
On cold winter nights, why not snuggle in front of the wood-burning stove with a hot-chocolate after a soak in the ozonated hot-tub? And on balmy North Carolina summer nights, simply stretch out below one of our huge living-room ceiling fans when it’s not quite hot enough to turn on the AC, or on the patio with a good book, and ask yourself “how could I possibly be only 5 minutes from Downtown Asheville, the Biltmore Estate and Mission Hospital?”
Since we are an Organic Household, we are happy to offer complimentary Organic Fair Trade Coffee in the form of a Latte, Espresso or Americano with optional decaf, cream and local honey upon request. We also serve complimentary continental breakfast with daily fresh baked croissants between 8-9am to accommodate any diet, with your coffee or herb tea.
Our kitchen and washer/drier are all readily available to you.
Even though we are only 2 miles from Pack Square, the heart of Asheville, we are essentially in a rural environment and ask that you are respectful of our wildlife and keep a safe distance in the interest of safety.
Please be respectful of the privacy of our Airstream and Apartment guests who have their own patio areas since most guests come looking for R&R. You are most welcome to use the main house deck with sun-chairs, cushioned chairs and tables with umbrellas and the BBQ or stroll through the seasonal raised beds.
Interaction with Guests
There are 4 rental units on this 2/3 acre property - we do our best to contribute to the Airbnb philosophy and community by providing complimentary breakfast to enable our guests to meet each other. If you need us, we're available 24 hours a day, you are welcome to call us any time if you have any problem at all and we will be more than happy to address it.
We're two Sagittarians - what can i say? We just love people!
Chunns Cove is a world unto itself. We have one neighbor whom you can barely visible through the trees, otherwise all you can see is a spectacular 180 degree view of the valley from the house. The cove is human-quiet but bird-noisy! We regularly see creatures that you wouldn't expect and could easily mistake this place in summer for a Costa Rican rain-forest! Ingles, our local grocery store, is 2 minutes down the road and Walgreens is 5 minutes away.
The airport shuttle will bring you to the door, there is a bus into town about half a mile away, you can rent bicycles or you can walk the 2.2 miles into Downtown. Every direction has beautiful views!
Other Things to Note
Whether you are attending a Yoga Workshop (there is plenty of space in the main house living-room and the apartment living room for yoga), Hiking & Mountain Biking Trails (request comprehensive local list of hikes, scenic drives and trails), coming to watch a band play at the Orangepeel, Attending a Wedding (if you book early, we can host a maximum of 10 people), or an annual event (Moogfest, Leaf, Bele Chere), Celebrating your Anniversary (how better to do it than with chocolate, croissants and a hot-tub), Exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway (please request info), Pisgah National Forest, Botanical Gardens at Asheville, a Foodie event, (The Admiral & Bull and Beggar are our firm favorites, but we can also recommend Cuchina 24, Wasabi, Table, Zambra, Brasilia Churrasco Steakhouse, The Blackbird, Chestnut, Posana, Market Place for dinner and for lunch; Early Girl Eatery, Chai Pani, Mela & 12 Bones) or just sampling the best coffee in Asheville (our favorites are High Five for cozy, Izzy’ for weird, Filo for atmosphere and Clingman Café for Artists), Cardinals Inn will meet you and greet you, feed you and treat you!

My stay was 5-stars in all measures. Fay met me at the home, which is beautiful, to show me the ropes. My ensuite room was very comfortable with a great bed, linens, and a huge new bathroom. My only regret is that, due to my schedule, I could not take advantage of the included breakfast which smelled fantastic!
As a first time user of Airbnb the bar has been set very high!
Marc and Fay were Fabulous hosts!!!
They truly will do all within their power to ensure that you have a GREAT stay with them. Marc is a pastry chef and cooks homemade croissants every morning for his guests along with fresh fruit and homemade jams! Needless to say, breakfast is DELISCIOUS!! They both are friendly, easy to talk to and full of great Asheville suggestions! One evening, we even had a game night. So Fun! The bed was comfortable, and the house was nice. We'd GLADLY stay with Marc and Fay again! As another bonus, Marc leaves a box of his homemade chocolates on your bed when you check in!!
My wife and I were looking for a nice getaway for some rest and recreation near Asheville for 4 nights. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations than Marc & Fay's BnB. They made us feel right at home in their gorgeous recently remodeled house.
The bed was more comfortable than my own bed and our room had a very nice private bath (with a heated fan - nice touch). The light breakfast was top notch every morning! Marc made us some delicious croissants with homemade jam and a great cup of tea or coffee. Their was fresh fruit and yogurt as well as cereals.
The location is excellent - seemed like it was centrally located to everywhere in Asheville we wanted to get to. We were able to take a $10 - $12 Uber ride into downtown from their place and it was only a 5 minute pickup wait.
They had not just 1 hot tub - but 2 hot tubs! This was great because as one was getting a cleaning - the other was still available. The hot tubs are new and have a good design and nice jets. They don't use too many chemicals and I appreciated that.
There were so many little amenities and nice surprises that Fay has taken the time to think of and provide - you feel like you are a VIP when staying at their place (1 example: plush robes, extra towels, and flip flops to make your way to the hot tub!)
At times, there were 3 other couples staying at the house and I didn't even know it until breakfast - in other words - their house is well built, quite and relaxing.
When I saw all raving reviews for Marc & Fay I thought it was too good to be true, but it's not! This was our first Airbnb experience and I’m afraid no other could possibly be as fabulous as this one. If you're looking for an amazing Asheville experience you MUST stay here. Both Marc and Fay are friendly, accommodating, and all around excellent hosts! The complimentary breakfast (fresh Croissants!!!) and homemade chocolate were top notch. They have literally thought of everything you could possibly need for an amazing getaway. We felt comfortable from the first moment we arrived and left feeling as if we gained two friends! We will definitely be staying here anytime we’re in Asheville and recommend this spot to family and friends.
My husband and I made a last minute trip to Asheville and booked the the Sunset Suite. When we arrived we were enthusiastically greeted by Marc and Faye. They were spectacular host who gave us great recommendations for dinning, shopping and other local attractions. Our room was super clean and had a very comfy bed. Over our four day stay we enjoyed the extra perks of having hosts who were great cooks, interesting conversationalist, and all around super people.
We highly recommend the Cardinal Inn - a fantastic vacation! experience.
Fay and Marc are excellent hosts! Their timely communication throughout the lead-up to the stay was most welcome. Once there, they were friendly and gracious. The accommodations exceeded (already high!) expectations, with the en-suite bathroom, hot tub, and breakfast being worth every penny. They've thought of everything, and I would gladly stay with them again.
What a marvelous place to stay! We stayed in the Guest Room. It was clean, fabulously furnished, and the bed was totally comfortable. In my book, it could be classified as "luxurious." And the little box of chocolates that greeted us in the room when we checked in was like putting a cherry on top of an ice cream sundae--and the chocolates were hand made by Marc!! Marc and Fay were the perfect hosts. They were very helpful in the check-in process, and they also were really helpful in giving us information on what to do in and how to navigate Asheville. They both have fun and happy personalities so they were a joy to meet; and I believe they enjoyed the guests as much as the guests enjoyed them. In a 5-star rating system, I definitely give Marc and Fay a 5, and I'm only giving them that score because a 6-Star or 7-Star Option is not available.

Well-immersed in the pastry and chocolate world for several decades, there is nothing on Marc’s list of culinary delights that features higher than chocolate and coffee. Playing a considerable role in both gutting and rebuilding this spectacular Chunn’s Cove residence, over the last year, Marc has conclusively proved that watching informative and directional Home Improvement Shows for the best part of adulthood, is akin to learning a new language. Born in Quebec, Marc’s native tongue is French but his English rivals any native tongue and his Spanish makes him trilingual. Not without her artistic inheritance, Fay’s world is defined as a pleasurable balance between entrepreneur and artist, commencing with a decade of international business travel in her 20’s, evolving to a decade of motherhood punctuated by a successful decade in the office. Now the time is ripe to spread those four Sagittarian wings for this highly motivated couple, eager to explore exciting new ventures.
