Our group of 13 friends and one baby all had a wonderful stay! The women at the Riad were extremely nice, always helpful and smiling. The location is great, not accessible by car, you need to walk in the small alleys for few minutes but that was expected and similar to many other places. Nadia was kind enough to walk with us to show us the way a couple of times.
I was communicating with Karim here and all went really well even though I contacted him way too many times before our trip to edit our booking, add more people, ask questions and request new stuff... he was always very quick to respond and really helpful.
We had dinner prepared there by Nadia on arrival which was delicious! Aziza helped us organize random things on the spot like a shuttle to a wedding we were attending, even appointments at the hairdressers! Really appreciate their kindness and cooperation.
A couple of small things I'd suggest:
- Organizing room arrangements beforehand and be clear about how many beds you need in each room. Once we arrived we had to ask for 2 double beds to be split and sofas prepared to use as triple rooms and move the baby cot from the big room to another... It was handled really well by Nadia and she quickly arranged everything on the spot, but it would have been better to organize it before.
- The breakfast does get a bit boring, but when we asked they were happy to cook eggs that we bought and they even got us croissants which was lovely of them!
- Also the baby cot doesn't have a proper mattress, it's actually folded thick blankets, it might be the norm in Morocco but i didn't feel comfortable using it for the baby's safety and to avoid overheating, it would have been better to have a proper mattress.
There is no microwave or kettle so we boiled water in a pan to make bottles or heat baby food.
The house is great - well taken care of - the cook Fatima is an AMAZING quality Chef and the house manager Nadia is exceptional - they could not be nicer people - cannot say more amazing things about them - they went well above and beyond the call of duty. Also would very, very highly recommend people pay for the two meals a day - their food is better than in almost any restaurant and they will do lunch or dinner and work around your schedule. ….
Our only issue with the house at all - is that you must be very quiet after 9 or 10pm as the neighbors complain - The riad is in a very quiet neighborhood not far from a mosque - so even a group of people having wine and playing cards on the deck is an issue for the houses around you.
Other than we loved everything else and would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
Thank you for your feedback, in the medina there are hundreds on Mosque (on every corner). It is allowed to use the terrace in the evening, have a glass of wine or play cards but after 10:30pm the noise level should be reduced.
Glad you took advantage of Fatima's amazing cooking skills, I always suggest to try at least one meal to compare, as you said the food is better than most restaurants, even fancy ones!
The hosts sorted the taxis for each member of our group which meant a relaxing journey from the airport upon arrival. The riad is very centrally-located within the medina and made exploring the souks and Jemma el Fna a breeze. We had an amazing time with 12 people and the terrace was the key lounging area, day and night. The bedrooms were fine, but I would say that the outdoor furnishings looked a touch better in the photos. Breakfast was good but repetitive. One of the housekeepers, Nadia, was an absolute joy to have around and made us feel very welcome. We had a lunch and dinner catered which were both very enjoyable.
Loved this place! The riad is charming and spacious. The rooms are lovely. We were 11 persons altogether and we absolutely loved it! Having breakfast made by Nadia (freshly baked Moroccan delights). Very helpful and caring staff! Great location!
We had a bit of confusion at check-in and even though Karim was himself on a trip in South America, he and the staff at the Riad were helpful and responsive in resolving our issues.
The Riad was generally as advertised and tuned out to be very comfortable for our family group, and a few of us extended for another day.
If you are booking keep in mind that you get dropped off at a point in the Medina a couple of hundred meters from the Riad and have to walk in through several narrow twisting alleys to get there. You definitely need a guide the first time. While the actual location of the Riad is very quiet and peaceful, particularly inside, the first walking alley in is very busy and lined with shops. The number of scooters and mopeds on that section were a bit of a surprise to us.
