We anticipated a quaint house in a quaint neighborhood and we were not disappointed. In addition to the comfortable house nicely situated on the water, I really enjoyed meeting Gail and John. At breakfast the next morning they hosted the real bed and breakfast experience of a meal and great conversation with other guests. I am impressed with their grounds around the house and the homeyness of their rooms.
We stayed at Blue Heron on Friday April 3rd for one night. We were welcomed by Gail on our arrival. We enjoyed our stay in the very private upstairs room, the beds were super comfy, and our room had a view of the river. Gail and John were helpful in suggestions of what to do in the area. A quick drive to BroadRipple for some nice restaurants and nightlife. Saturday morning we had breakfast with Gail and John and really enjoyed their company. The breakfast was delicious, and set on such a lovely table in the dining room. If you like older homes, beautiful antiques and really charming company, you will love your stay in this home!
Accommodations were excellent. I think we may have arrived a bit early and so threw her off a bit but all was great. The place is like a county home in the middle of the city. My husband and I really loved it. We want to come and do some canoeing or house boating. Can't wait to see it in the summer.
Wonderful hosts, accommodations, and location. For those of you familiar with Chicago, I'd call Broad Ripple the "Lincoln Park" of Indianapolis. The location of the property is outstanding. If you have a student at Butler University this will be where you want to put your feet up. Your steps away from the Monon Trail so that you can work off the overeating you're likely to do in Broad Ripple.
