We had a wonderful one night stay at the Blue Heron BnB. Gail and John were excellent hosts, and made us a delicious blueberry pancake breakfast. We stayed in room 1 which was very charming, looked just like the photos and had everything we needed. We would highly recommend!
Gail and John were great hosts and their place was superb to say the least. I would recommend their place and hospitality to anyone looking for a special place to stay in the Broad Ripple area.
The upstairs room was very nice and had a kitchen which we enjoyed using.
I had a very enjoyable breakfast with the Juerlings- great conversationa and great food.
Extra nice people...very accommodating. Especially loved the bed and the location. Look forward to returning!!!
I stayed in the blue attic room for 5 nights--at first I was disappointed as I had fallen in love with the photos of the studio with the cute wallpaper and exposed beams, but in the end I loved the blue attic room! It was very private, comfortable, had its own bathroom, and (my favorite) had opening windows right above the bed so I could listen to the cicadas at night and get delicious fresh air (so much nicer than stale air conditioning at a non-descript hotel!) Gail and her husband John are very sweet people and fixed me a made to order breakfast every morning. I felt super comfortable with them and safe in their house. Their place is very conveniently located between the very fun Broad Ripple neighborhood and mall land, along a sweet river. I would definitely stay here again and am so glad I didn't back out when I discovered someone else had reserved the cute studio before me. It was so much better and much more reasonable than staying in a hotel.
My first AirBnB experience was with Gail and it could NOT have been better! What a lovely home and attention to detail. Her and her husband, John are naturals at hosting strangers! HA. Yummy and plentiful breakfast got us hours and hours down the road :) The location is swell being right down the road from the cute little downtown of Broadripple. We ate at the Corner Wine Bar, because of Gail's expert recommendation. And wait till you see the home's property! We would have loved to come a little earlier and stay a little longer to sit down by the river. Maybe next time?
My husband and I stayed with Gail for Labor Day weekend because we were looking for an affordable weekend getaway. The room was clean and comfortable. The decor was relaxing. The TV and internet worked great. The location was safe and convenient to Indianapolis sightseeing. We were able to see the Indianapolis Museum of Art (for free), the Indiana War Memorial (great museum- also free), Holliday Park (free) and other various sights downtown, which were all close to Gail's place. The biggest treat of our weekend was having breakfast with our hosts, Gail and John. They were easy to communicate with before our trip and they made our stay great during the trip. Gail is an amazing cook. She made us crepes, eggs, sausages, hash browns, and provided fresh fruit, tea, juice and coffee each morning. The large and leisurely breakfasts set our days off to a good start. Gail and John are a fun couple and the conversation with them and the other guests made it a more personal experience than staying at a hotel. I would highly recommend staying at this B&B if you are looking to have a weekend adventure in Indianapolis. The convenience, value, and hospitality are unbeatable! Thank you Gail and John!!
Gail's home is a lovely place to enjoy time in Indianapolis. We soaked in time on the awesome screened-in back porch, with sweet views of the river and the lush backyard. We also greatly enjoyed our conversations with Gail and her husband. Thanks!
We checked into this lovely studio apt a bit late. The hosts were very communicative prior to our arrival which helped. We were in town for a reunion at Butler University and this place is ideally located for Butler. The apartment was as described on airbnb and the photos do it justice. It has an antique feel to it which was pretty cute. We didn't spend much time around the apartment as we were busy at Butler but found it to be a quite and relaxing place to sleep and relax.
