Huge house, on the hill. Private bedroom, comfy queen bed, desk, closet, high ceiling, spacious. Private bath. Shared living room, dining room, kitchen, backyard. High-speed Wi-Fi, coffee, fridge, laundry. Great place to relax and enjoy the view!
The house is very large and spacious with a backyard, courtyard, big kitchen, expansive living room/entry, and dining room.
It's a five bedroom, three bathroom house on two levels. Both levels have an amazing view of the Bay and San Francisco.
This bedroom is located on the top floor, the main level. It's very private with private attached bath. The bed is comfy, there a full closet and plenty of space to spread out.
The house is old and charming. The neighborhood is quiet and safe.
Note: There will be other guests and tenants sharing the house. The environment is communal and friendly, but there's also plenty of space for peace and privacy.
The best houseguests are those who enjoy the company of others and are tidy and quiet at night.

You get your own bathroom.
There's plenty of free street-parking right in front of the house.

Interaction with Guests
I am a 30-year-old female, born and raised in San Francisco, eldest of 6, and of Cantonese descent. My family has owned this house for 20 years. I recently moved back to the Bay Area in 2013 after living in LA for 4 years.
This home is my main residence, but I'm usually bouncing around between my partner's house in Berkeley and my family's house in San Francisco.
When I'm home, I clean, garden, sleep, eat and hang out with guests and friends. Some weeks I'm here often, others I'm rarely around. But I check-in frequently and am easily reachable by phone.
I am very friendly and love sharing this city with guests. I will tell you about all my favorite local hikes, restaurants, landmarks, and neighborhoods. I love listening to all your stories and chatting over meals in the dining room. Ask me anything!
Oakland is an amazing city.
Our neighborhood is a gem. The view is stunning up here, it's quiet, the air is clear and the weather is fantastic everyday.
Just up the hill are some amazing parks and trails with some of the biggest trees you'll ever see. Check out Redwood Regional Park and Joaquin Miller Park.
Berkeley is 20 minutes north by car, Lake Merritt and Downtown Oakland are 15 minutes away, Oakland Airport is about 20 minutes away. San Francisco is about 30 minutes away across the Bay Bridge when traffic is light.
Just 5 minutes away at Fruitvale Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard you will find grocery stores, such as Farmer Joe's and Safeway, a gas station, pastry shop, restaurants, pharmacy, library and more!
You will need a car to get here. The nearest BART station is 3 miles away and we are high up on a hill!
If you drive to San Francisco, beware that there is a toll for the Bay Bridge which is between $4-$6 that you must pay going into the "City" with either cash or "Fastrak." Get a Fastrak device, if you plan on staying a while, to use the Fastrak express lanes.
Avoid going to SF during morning rush hour (7-9am on weekdays) and returning during evening rush hour (3-7pm).
If you park in downtown San Francisco, I suggest Moscone Center Garage on 3rd and Howard (cheapest).
For public transportation, go to Fruitvale BART station, which is 3 miles away. You can take BART to San Francisco, Berkeley, and a number of other places in the Bay Area. Parking at the station may be limited, especially on weekdays.
Other Things to Note
I love my home and neighborhood dearly. Our house has a friendly, communal vibe that is built on trust and respect for each other and our neighbors.
Everyone who has stayed here so far has exceeded my expectations, which is why I continue opening my home to new guests.
Please allow me to answer all of your questions and feel free to share any thoughts.
I hope you enjoy your stay here!
Be gentle, be kind. Be quiet after-hours.
No unauthorized guests allowed. If you want to invite someone over, say for dinner, please ask me beforehand. I will probably say yes.
Definitely no smoking inside the house, no pets, no drugs, no crazy parties.
Please park your car close to the house, preferably on our side of the street. Do not crowd the neighbors. Turn your wheels.
Perfect way to spend some time near the city without breaking the bank. Nancy was polite and very accommodating. It is a house with a few room rentals, we didnt mind having some interactions with other guests. The rooms and bathroom was clean with a good shower. The beds were decent. I had an extra guest that needed to crash and Nancy was helpful and accommodating about our needs as they came up. We felt safe in this residential neighborhood.
Nancy is very friendly, welcoming and accommodating while still giving plenty of space for us to do our own thing.
Nancy is also very professional, organized and represents quite a bit of mindfulness.
The house is spacious with good parking and safe neighborhood. We have extended our stay longer than anticipated mostly because of how well things are working out while being here.
Thank you for being such an excellent host Nancy!
Nancy was very polite and interesting to talk to.
I was impressed with the view and how safe the area is. The house is clean, bedroom has comfortable beds and bathroom is clean. Important to mention, it was very quite.
I'm very glad we got this house.
This was my first time to do AirBnB and I have to say that it was an excellent experience. Nancy is a very great and kind host. Her house is well kept and has AMAZING views of the Bay Area. Our room was shared with a private bath. Everything was clean and quiet. If you are in the Bay Area and looking for a place to stay Nancy's is the place!
Staying with Nancy was the best decision i could have made for my trip to SF.
The neighborhood seems to be very safe and the walking to the next bus stop wasn't a problem either! The House got an unbelievable view over the city and the beds are very comfortable.
Besides all that you couldn't imagine a better Host than Nancy. Super friendly, courteous and always down for a little conversation.
I would definitely stay again with Nancy and would recommend her to everyone!
Thanks for everything!
We had a great time at Nancy's. The view was spectacular and our room was perfect with a very comfortable bed. We walked everywhere but it is probably better to have a car.
Nancy is very nice and welcoming and it was fun hanging out with all the people who stay in this huge house. Definitely a great place to stay !
We spent two weeks here. Nancy has been very kind and helpful. Lovely big house in a peaceful neighborhood. I highly recommend you this house if you're visiting Oakland.

I'm 30 years old and originally from San Francisco, eldest of 6. I moved back to the Bay Area in 2013 after living in LA for 4 years. I did my undergrad at Stanford, got my MBA at UCLA and have worked in interior design, product design, graphic and web design.
I love to hike, throw a football, and watch the sun set. I garden on sunny days and cook when I'm inspired.
You will usually see me with a tool in my hand. I like construction and DIY work. I built a fence recently and fix things around the house and in my other properties in San Francisco.
My wonderful girlfriend, Cathy, lives in Berkeley and my family lives in San Francisco. I split my time between Oakland, Berkeley and SF. Sometimes Cathy or my siblings hang out at my house.
I love people and learning about them. I look forward to hearing your stories!
