Hosmer House is a unique vintage gem, well preserved yet well appointed. Close to wine tasting, fine dining and 3 state parks w/passes in historic Glen Ellen and Kenwood . Always hot spa, big TV, propane fire pit, screened in dining porch and 2 sets of french doors off the living room so you can enjoy nature or just curl up by the fire. Full kitchen. Host is next door for tips on wine, dining, and more. We welcome people of all backgrounds!

The space
From the original log mantelpiece to the old time screened in dining room, our cabin will be a relaxing and welcome retreat. Built from Old Growth Redwood, you are surrounded by the beauty of the California Redwood that cannot be replaced. Outdoor spaces abound. We provide an escape from todays modern times by offering the feel of the great camps of the 1800's/early 1900's, but improved by modern necessities like a dishwasher, spa, upgraded bathroom and more.

Guests enjoy the full use of the kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals including appliances, (Blendtec blender, rice cooker etc) plastic wrap, spices, condiments, and more.

Your choice of coffee, and creamers, etc, are fast to make with our K-cup machine. You can even take it to go with our provided "to go " cups.

Where you’ll be

Glen Ellen, California, United States

Our neighborhood is a beautiful rural area, a favorite of Cabernet growers, walkers and cyclists. Close to this unit are 3 State Parks for hiking: Jack London State Historic Park (4 miles), Sugarloaf State Park (4 miles), Annedel State Park (2 miles), and Armstrong State Redwoods is a one hour drive. We offer passes for your parking at all. Our local gourmet market: Glen Ellen Village Market, has everything you need including a great wine selection, not to mention the famous panini sandwiches! We are lucky to be next to a bucolic privately owned swimming and picnic grounds: "Morton's Warm Springs" is a geothermal warm spring pool. We provide free passes to our guests when the pool is open, approximately May thru September, see their website for details. Morton's is temporarily closed for summer of '22.

One of our favorite things to do is meet new Airbnb friends! If they are like minded we might have a glass of wine or beer together and watch the deer and birds go by or listen to the quiet night as well, maybe around the campfire! Of course we realize travelers are very busy so of course we may not see you much and that's fine too.

Diana’s family has been enjoying this property for over 100 years (I’m the 4th generation here). I have lived here full time for over 39 years. We have been hosting friends, family and occasional employees for 25 years now but just listed with Airbnb 8 years ago.

Diana is a horticulturist and is always experimenting with possible deer resistant plants. Also a long term property manager and most of all... Airbnb host!

Charles is a pt time winemaker and vineyard manager/winery owner and he loves to talk wines and vines, especially organic ! He is also up on all the running/hiking trails in the area.

During your stay

We live next-door, out of your way, but close at hand if anything needs attention. We love to interact with guests when they feel the same way. We enjoy meeting new friends from around the world! Let us know if you are up for some local tips and conversation over our favorite drinks! You will see me gardening, watering, etc, on the property but out of your way. We have another smaller Airbnb cabin in our backyard and the two units may be booked together for a total party of 8 ("Wine County Cabin in the Woods").
