The neighborhood

It is slightly off the beaten track in a nice and calm neighbourhood.
Good amenities: Here, in the immediate vicinity is a small park with a playground, several shops for day-to-day needs as well as pubs and restaurants to relax after a stressful day.
Whether eating out for breakfast, lunch or dinner - appetite is easily satisfied in any of the nearby gastronomical enterprises (including Thai, Vietnamese, Italian, Turkish), in the "Deichgraf", a bar located in a renowned corner of Berlin, with an adjoining beer garden, Mediterranean touch can be found in the "Auszeit" or a more dignified atmosphere with fireplace in the "fünfundsechzig"

Getting around

It is centrally located with very good access to public transport by bus, metro and suburban rail and a main train station nearby, the motorway A 100 and a direct connection to the airport Tegel.

Locations in the city centre, such as Zoologischer Garten and Kurfürstendamm can be reached within a matter of minutes, via the U9 underground line. The bus number 147 takes 10 minutes to reach the main station (Hauptbahnhof).
Destinations such as Friedrichstrasse, Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt, can be reached by using the U9/U6 or U9/U8 Underground lines with one transfer.
And for those unadverse to a little walk along the Nordufer (north banks of the Spree) the Art Museum Hamburger Bahnhof, as well as the Reichstag and the Chancellery can be reached at moderate pace within 30 minutes.

The place is great, clean, very well located (subway station, bus stop, supermarket at walking distance). If you are interested in Natural History, the Naturkunde Museum is only few metro stations away. Reaching the city center is also very easy and fast. And the apartment is also easy to reach from the Hauptbahnhof. Tom and Arzu are great hosts, willing to help in what they can and super friendly! We really enjoyed our time in Berlin.

Arzu and Tom's place was comfortable and clean! The rooms were spacious and immaculate. If I had more time I would have cooked in the kitchen as it was equipped with everything. Tom welcomed us with maps, directions, and sound advice about traveling around the city. He communicated throughout our time there via email (although I was quite busy and didn't get a chance to respond right away) and even made our taxi arrangements for the morning back to the airport. I was grateful for his guidance as we had a lot to do in just a few days and I was frazzled.

Arzu and Tom were extremely friendly, very hospitable, and really helpful. Before arrival, they sent us messages telling us about things to do in the area, how to use public transportation, and helpful tips. They made our trip to Berlin very easy. The place was very clean, nice, and close to public transportation. We appreciated all of the brochures they left in the kitchen for recommendations for food. They called a cab for us on the last day. They were helpful in every way possible. They even gave us cookies for the road! Definitely would recommend. Thanks for everything!

Accommodation description and photos were accurate. Appartment was clean, warm and welcoming with all the facilities needed for an enjoyable self catering stay. Locality had general stores, bakeries and places to eat etc, all within a very short walking distance. Transport in and out of Berlin centre was regular, reliable and good value. Host was friendly and communicated well and provided all the information we required.

Wonderful apartment, clean and provided everything we needed. Comfortable bed, good food around the corner, very close to a metro station so easy to access everything. Would have stayed even longer if possible and would like to stay again when visiting Berlin next. Thanks Arzu and Tom!
