This is an apartment I bought in 2006 to have a pied-a-terre in Paris. I mostly loved and still love the location and the building, sooooo Paris.
Le Marais is well known for its architecture, museums, restaurants and typical Parisian atmosphere. The apartment is 1min walking distance to the Bastille subway, a very convenient station to go anywhere with 4 main lines of subway. The city bus tour also starts at Bastille.
Nightlife is everywhere around: restaurants, cafes and music bars, open till late on rue de Lappe and rue Faubourg Saint Antoine. Also, one of the biggest supermarket in town is less than 5mins walking very convenient for a weekly shop and daily needs and groceries can be found easily on rue St Antoine, between 2 and 5 mins walking distance: wine shops (Nicolas +Julien Sauvignon), French Cheese shops, Chocolate shops, Naturalia, Church and Synagogue, etc, all less than 5mins walking!!
The Louvre is 10 minutes away by metro or by bus, Champs elysees, Opera, etc all direct by subway!!
The apartment is on the first french floor (with lift) of a 17th century walk-up building, giving onto a small quiet street. The main entrance gate is equipped with a security system (building code) and is very safe. This building has a nice paved courtyard with plants.
With its floor-to-ceiling window, you will enjoy luminosity and space.
The kitchen is equipped with a microwave-grill, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a coffee maker and a toaster. It is fully equipped with cooking appliances.
The bathroom is totally tiled (floor and walls). It includes a bathtub/shower, a washbasin surmounted by a mirror, and a toilet.
This apartment is recommended for a couple. and is large enough to accommodate 4 adults with to the sofabed.
Internet high speed included, Free phone to 103 countries (land line only).
The satellite signal for TV sometimes turn low for days! (So don't count on TV) but Internet/phone works very well.
This is a non smoking apartment. Sorry, but Pets are not accepted without my approval.
This apartment is located in the heart of the Marais, in a busy building, the neighbors are very friendly, but I have still to ask you to reduce noise from 10pm at night.
Feel free to use the illimited phone to 103 countries (more information in the apartment),
the internet access and TV.
Cleanings for arrival and departure are included.
Stayed in the apartment for 3 nights, and loved the neighborhood. There are a lot of good food and bar options close, and lots of shopping too (which we didn't do much of). There is a great market that takes place on Sunday, and you can roll out of bed and head straight there. Apartment looks just as pictured, perfect for two people. Close to two main metro lines to see all the sights too, couldn't be in a better location. Linens could use some updating and it smelled a little of smoke, but overall a great experience for the price.
The appartment location is extremely central and convenient, very close to subway and buses.
This being said, it is quite noisy as on the street (you hear all the circulation, even if this is not a big street there is some until late in the night) and the bar below have people talking in the street.
The pictures are faithful but the appartment could be improved in terms of appliances (ie teapot, cleaning tools, lightings...), overall state (curtains, lights spots, cupboards doors...) and cleanliness. Note it is managed by an agency and France is very responsive, but no news from the owner.
I was really disappointed compared to my other experiences with Airbnb as the overall experience lacked the warmness from Airbnb exchanges.
L'appartamento è situato in una zona veramente ideale: vicino alla metro e ad una fermata dalla stazione, nel bel mezzo del marais pieno di vita ma nel contempo in una vietta tranquilla al riparo dal rumore. A piedi raggiungi comodamente Notre Dame.
This apartment is great! It is in a fabulous location and the host provided accurate and easy to follow directions to get to the apartment from Gare du Nord. The wifi worked well and the apartment was as described on the website.
Organization: Raphael and France were very accomodating and well organized. Instructions for accessing the appartment were very clear.
The studio: Clean, well laid-out, comfortable and well equipped. There is some noise from the street in the evening, but in Paris that's to be expected everywhere.
Location: Knowing Paris very well, the location was a big reason why we selected this studio and it did not disappoint. Easy access to the Marais with plenty of great restaurants only a ten minute walk away.
Never met the host or talked with them but that was not a problem. Good directions and access to apartment. The actual place was more shabby then they appeared in the photo and overall cleanliness was questionable. The dwelling was adequate and the heat was excellent. The location was very good for eating and easy access to metro trains, taxis and shopping. There are plenty of other hotels in the area as well with fairly reasonable rates...had I not already paid I would have stayed at one of those. This was the first time I wasn't 100% impressed with my stay but overall I'd give it a 6 out of 10.
Good apartment in a good location very close to Bastille. Everything we needed was there and we enjoyed our stay.

I love the concept of Airbnb, I am using the website to host and travel. People dealing with people brings the best of them, it is much better than dealing with companies, regulations and conditions and terms ;)
I thing meeting people is key in life, I will be happy to host you in Paris or Bali and get connected in a way or another.
