Interaction with Guests
We are an international family and love to meet people from anywhere.
Great host and hostess. A beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood near shops, restaurants, and the train to dt Chicago.
Grace and Tom are amazing hosts, their home is very welcoming and may a short hop from the green line. They were quick to offer advice, were incredibly helpful, and very accommodating. The house is immaculate and in a very peaceful neighborhood. They made my first experience with Airbnb something I will hope I can experience again, but it's hard to top excellence! Thank you Grace and Tom!
I had a wonderful experience staying with Grace and Tom! They are warm and gracious, plus easy going; I instantly felt welcome. I greatly appreciated that they picked me up and dropped me off at the train station when I had luggage. On the days I went sightseeing it was an easy three block walk to the station. Grace & Tom are knowledgeable of what to do in Chicago and are ready to share their knowledge to make your stay enjoyable. After a day of sightseeing in downtown Chicago, this home is a peaceful retreat to relax, or the nearby village has great restaurants! This is a convenient, safe and lovely place to stay; my room was comfy and private. This is where I will be staying the next time I go to Chicago. If Grace and Tom ever travel to my hometown I plan to have them over for dinner - and we can continue talking about travel.
Grace and Tom were warm and gracious hosts who upon our arrival showed us around their charming and comfortable home. As advertised it is filled with antiques as well as Tom's collections and handmade toys and models. Both our hosts had good advice as to sights for us to see and places to go in the vicinity. There were helpful brochures and guides in our bedroom for our use.
The house is in a picture-book Americana neighborhood which is as lovely as any movie set yet it is a short pleasant walk to the village of Oak Park and the Green Line El to Chicago.
Oak park boast a few attractions beyond it's charm. There is the Frank Lloyd Wright home and museum and a double-handful of homes designed by the master, as well as Ernest Hemingway's birthplace and a museum devoted to him. We viewed both and we sampled several good restaurants. There is also a thriving arts section of the town which we did not get to see.
Grace and Tom were so accommodating that when it was time to go, Tom drove us and our baggage to the Blue Line, perhaps a mile across town so that we could go to O'Hare without having to change trains in the city.
Friendly, comfortable accommodating.
Grace and Tom were great hosts. We had a flight that got cancelled and needed a place to stay last minute. Luckily their place was available and we couldn't have asked for a better stay! Their home is located in a wonderful neighborhood called Oak Park, and their home is equally as fascinating filled with a bunch of history. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anybody else looking for a place to stay in Chicago!
Tom and Grace's home (and the room) were exactly as advertised: comfortable, inviting, and a real home away from home. The neighbourhood is beautiful and very conveniently located for both touring Oak Park and going to downtown Chicago. Grace and Tom were wonderful hosts, and went out of their way to make me feel right at home. They were gracious, generous, and friendly, but also made sure to respect my privacy. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I come back to Oak Park.
Our hosts Grace and Tom contacted us soon after we made our reservation and were flexible regarding our arrival time. They made us feel at home introducing us to their dog and cat, showing us around the house, and encouraging us to help ourselves to breakfast food whenever we were ready. Our schedule was very busy but we enjoyed the talks we had with them and look forward to a return visit.
