Sweet Organic Eastside Austin House

House - Entire home/apt · Fiesta Street, Austin, TX 78702, United States

The Space

A lovely, Buddhist-inspired artist's home in diverse East Austin. Simply slip in and make yourself at home in this oasis. It is a great space for 1-6 people, and kids are welcome. I've been renting my home out to visitors for three years and simply adore the process and everyone I've met. I've enjoyed it so much that I moved into the small cottage in my backyard, and am renting out the main house full-time. If airbnb shows the listing when you search, that means it is available--feel free to book it!

About the space: it is open, airy, and bright. Three comfortable, serene bedrooms ~ two with queen sized beds, and one with a full-sized futon. It is fully furnished and comes with a kitchen with organic local breakfast foods and coffee. All bedding, linens, cookware, towels, and dishes are provided. There is wireless internet, but no TV. Deck with hammock, rocking chairs on porch, large organic garden in yard, and limestone fire pit.

No chemically-based cleaning products are used (just good old vinegar, water, lemon juice, Dr. Bronner's and baking soda) so it is safe for people with sensitivities.

It is 2 miles to downtown Austin, 2 blocks from the bus line, and a quick walk to taquerias, cafes, an urban organic farm, and a grocery store--as well as lots of trendy new spots. The house is six miles from the Austin airport, between the airport and downtown, making your arrival and departure smooth and fast. It is four miles to the University of Texas.

For cat lovers: two loving and sweet indoor/outdoor longhaired cat named Feather and The Reverend will be here for you to snuggle, if you wish. They have their own door, and if you'd prefer no kitties, I will lock it and they'll stay with me in the back. Given the chance, though, they will have long conversations with you on your lap.

I'm more than happy to give suggestions about hidden spots in the ATX, restaurants, cafes, swimming holes, etc. The neighborhood is funky, diverse, fun, changing, a mix of working-class and artist-class folks, and lushly green.

Blessings, and welcome to Austin! It's awesome here!

    Response from Abriel:

Chase was very gracious to find another airbnb
host when a health issue prevented me from hosting him at our agreed upon
time. It worked smoothly and he was able to find a great place in the
Austin airbnb community. Thanks, Chase, for being so kind and flexible! I'd
love to give you a discounted stay here in the future to make up for your
    trouble. :)

  • Abe is a delight and her home is cozy, comfortable and full of more books than one knows what to do with. I bonded with Feather and made myself at home with ease. The giant back porch complete with hammock and wind chimes was the cherry of charm - I spent hours reading borrowed poetry books and soaking up Austin's February sun. Highly recommended!

  • A serene place to call home while you're in Austin. The house is just 10 minutes from downtown and I-35 and has a peaceful vibe to it. A great place to relax at the end of a busy day sightseeing or working. We were there for 6 weeks while my husband did an internship. The home is nicely kept, the neighborhood is fine and Abriel is quick to respond to any questions you have about the city or her home. We highly recommend Abriel's place for your stay in Austin!

  • Abriel's home is welcoming, cozy, clean and conveniently located. There was a group of four of us in town for a wedding. It was great to come to a real house at the end of the day to relax. The kitties in the house eased how much I missed my dogs. Abriel is a great hostess. Will stay again for sure!

  • This house is about as lovely as you could want in Austin: beautiful, comfortable, convenient (close to the grocery store, restaurants, the bus to downtown). Abriel is an amazing host - considerate, thoughtful, helpful and a blast to talk to. Book this place!

  • It was exquisite. it was affordable. It was like being at home. Abriel was erudite, and a poet. We loved her, her cat, Feather, and her house. If we lived in Austin, she would be a friend. Visit Sweet Organic Eastside House. You will love it.

  • The Sweet Organic Eastside house is centrally located in Austin in a quiet neighborhood. Abriel was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hope to return sometime to Austin and when we do, we'll check to see if the house is available!

  • Abriel is incredibly sweet - as is her home! Also, her cat Feather is a wonderful joy to have around. Her home is a beautiful place, slightly away from the hubbub of downtown, in a pleasant community that's not too far from the supermarket and local shops - and for the voluntarily carless, it's close to public transportation to Downtown and to South Congress. She gave us wonderful advice and was a joy to meet. I highly recommend Abriel and her home.

  • My friends and I stayed at Abriel's home for SXSW and had a great experience. The home is very comfortable with nice amenities and convenient for riding bikes around town! We hope to always stay at this sweet eastside house for all our future trips to Austin!! Thanks Abriel!!

  • Abriel provided the perfect AirBnB experience. House looked like the pictures and was very clean. She was warm, welcoming, and helpful. Provided sought-after advice on everything from pizza to barbers. Was present and available but left us undisturbed. Highly recommended!

Writer / Writing Teacher
Hi friends, my name is Abriel. I'm a writer and teacher, originally from New Orleans, now settled in Austin in a home I love--and love to share. I travel often, garden, do yoga, work with teenagers, read and write, and bike ride around the lovely, funky, artistic, diverse neighborhood of Central East Austin. When traveling, I like everything from camping to farmhouse living. I look for unique, eco-friendly, interesting places to stay. I have a leave-no-trace ethic, except a thank-you note, of course! Feel free to ask me anything about the place, city, or neighborhood.
