Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Newly remodeled, 120 yr old farm house and cattle ranch on 125 acres of Ozark fields and forest off historic Route 66 Highway. We welcome those who can stay just one night or those who want to stay longer. Hike in our woods, view wildlife, enjoy a bonfire, or just sit on the porch and relax! We have an Activity Barn with all sorts of outdoor gear/toys. The house has a fully equipped kitchen and we are close to the historic town of Carthage where there are several great restaurants.

The space
Four bedroom farmhouse with fields and forest are available for you to enjoy. We have TV, DVD, movies and games if you want to stay snuggled inside and outdoor games, bicycles, hammocks, walking areas, BBQ grill and fire pit if you want to enjoy the outdoors. The house has been entirely remodeled with AC and heat in all rooms. We have great Wi-Fi throughout the house. We hope you will feel at home on the farm. We also have a 150-yard farm driving range for those who love golf - bring your short irons!

We would be happy to provide information on other things to do and see in our area. We have something for everyone within a short drive of the farm. We are located right off Historic Route 66 Highway and we are co-owners of Route 66 Airfield that is adjacent to the farm.

Guest access
Guests have access to the house, the woodland and the farm fields (that are not being grazed by our cattle/horses). Please close any gates you enter as you explore. The cattle and horses are beautiful to watch, but please do not enter any fields where cattle/horses are grazing. Some of the cattle fences are electric (wire and tape) - please alert any children in your group to not touch fencing. We can let you know which fields have cattle if they are not visible. Our dogs and goats live on our adjoining property - but if they wander to the farm, they are very people friendly!

Other things to note
Keep in mind that this is a working farm, please be careful around the cows, horses, fences (barbed and electric), tractors and other farm equipment.

We also have two very friendly dogs that are big, but love everyone. They usually stay close to our house with us, but if they wander to the farm - they are safe to pet if you like. We also have mini goats that are kept in a fenced area next to our house. We do let them out to graze and on rare occasions they may wander to the farm. They are also very friendly and safe to pet.

Three of four bedrooms require going up stairs.

No bathtub - new shower.

Please register and pay accordingly for all guests who will be using the farmhouse facility either staying the night or day use. We offer a lot of fun amenities, but ask that all guests be registered and pay the listed fee. This allows us to know who is on our farm property.

Please clean kitchen if used (wash all dishes, clean refrigerator, microwave, countertops, etc.) before leaving - thanks! Note the there is no dishwasher. The basic kitchen is equipped for cooking food for guests staying at the farmhouse. The kitchen is not to be used to prepare meals for off-site events such as weddings, funerals, etc.

My husband Harlan and I love the outdoors!! On weekends you can find us camping, fishing, hiking, gardening or playing on our 100 acre farm and 110 year old farmhouse located next to our home property. We have spent the last year remodeling the farmhouse and love sharing it with others! Harlan and I have lived from coast to coast and have traveled all over the world -- but really love our quaint home town of Carthage the best! When planning to use our farm house as an Airbnb we were hoping to share the rural America - Missouri Ozarks experience with travelers. As travelers ourselves, we wanted our farmhouse to feel like home! I love to cook, so we have a fully equipped kitchen. We also know all the best places to visit around our area and love to share this information. We have 100 acres of fields and woods, a campfire pit, bicycles, horseshoe game, croquet and other outdoor activities that we hope you will take time to enjoy as well.
