About this listing
Luxury Home minutes walk from Galway city centre. The house is in a wonderful location & has mature plum trees in the secluded back garden. The back garden gate opens onto a canal & pedestrian walkway leading you, in minutes, either to the city, Claddagh beach, Galway Cathederal or the city's NUIG university.
Other facilities a short walk away include Spanish Arch & Galway Museum, Latin Quarter, Volvo Ocean Race, Roisin Dubh & Monroe's (for music), Salthill (Ireland's longest promenade), Druid & Town Hall Theatre, An Taibhdhearc (Irish Language Theatre), The Claddagh (i.e Heart in Hands Claddagh Ring) and St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church (established 1320).
There are loads of fantastic restaurants with 10 minutes of our house and most are really affordable. I read recently in the local paper that we
live in the dining district :)
Galway is full of water, whether in the rivers, canals, beaches or in the skies! Yes, it rains alot but its worth it! The house was built in 1928 but recently renovated and has a lot of luxury comforts: great music system, wifi, amazingly big bath, home cinema screen 8Ft (2.4M), peat turf fire, LGBT friendly, great hosts!!! ;0) who love meeting new people.
See our other listings (on the panel to the right hand side) if you would like to book either the whole house or else the master bedroom
Guests have access to the whole house (except our private bedroom of course)
Interaction with Guests
We usually interact quite a bit with guests, if they like to interact. Some people like to do their own this and this too is cool
We live in a lovely old part of Galway close to the city centre and the historic claddagh fishing village. We are 10 minutes walk from the beach - which is lovely
we are in the city centre so everything is within walking distance.
Other Things to Note
we have a lovely Irish (red) setter dog who is very gentle
no smoking inside the house and please leave the place the way you find it. Thanks :)
Parisch is a songwriter & musician with a passion for singing, Pamela is hydrogeologist (water & rock engineer) and she is the minister for FUN. We are in our early 40s, have no kids, like the finer things in life - good food, fine wine, great coffee, hanging out friends and getting to meet new people. We are liberal in our outlook and all peoples and dogs are welcome - we used to have a big old Labrador horsey/dog until recently but she had to say Au Revoir! So, we are used to big dogs around and the house and garden are dog friendly. The beach is near also so dog lovers need not worry about bringing a dog to the city. We run a house concert series on the first saturday of most months where we invite professional musicians to play for 20-50 people in our spacious living room. These are very special occasions. We do not own a TV but love to watch DVDs on our projector and 8 Ft home cinema screen. Balance and fun are important, LOVE and laughter are crucial.
