My stay with Janet was wonderful! I stayed for 1 month until I was able to find more permanent housing after relocating to the area for work. She was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout my stay! The location is very convenient to both Hartford and West Hartford Center/Blue Back Square.
I would highly recommend using Janet as a host if you are looking for a place to stay!
Janet is a wonderful host. And her home is beautiful with a very comfy bed. My husband and I enjoyed our stay very very much!
I stayed with Janet two times close together. She is a wonderful host, and a very fun person! The room is very spacious and nice with a great bed and bathroom.
We're starting to plan a wedding in our family and Janet was so enthusiastic and supportive! It makes the planning even more fun. I look forward to my next stay there.
Janet is a genuine lovely, welcoming person! She was very communicative and interested in us before we booked her home. When we arrived at her place, she was there to welcome us warmly and show us around. Since we were in Hartford to take our son to college, she made a comfortable place for our son, was so interested in learning about us, and very supportive and reassuring about dropping him off. She gave us lots of helpful info about the town and the school. She even offered to be a helpful local contact for our son after we left!
We could not have hoped for a better experience, staying in a "strangers" house!
The house itself is a beautiful, comfortable Cape Cod style in a quiet residential neighborhood, within walking distance of West Hartford Center. The bed, bathroom and living room were beautifully appointed.
Our entire stay with Janet was just what we needed! Since we look forward to travelling to West Hartford quite a bit for the next 4 years, we're hoping that we'll be able to stay with Janet many more times!
Janet is a warm and welcoming hostess. Her Cape Cod home is in a nice neighborhood, and the bedroom I stayed in is large, with a great bed, desk and everything you need. You'll have your own bathroom as well.
Janet has had some amazing experiences in life and she's willing to share stories if you're interested. I loved her laugh and openness.
(My wife and teen daughters were the guests at this property; I did not travel with them.) This was our first time booking through airbnb, and my wife's first time staying at a property being occupied by the owner. She was very happy, and more than satisfied, with the experience. Janet was a great host, and everything was as described and as pictured. Her home was lovely, the neighborhood was lovely (my wife walked most every morning she was there), and her experience was great! If she is ever in the area again, she tells me she will definitely be booking with Janet again.
About the Host, Janet
I am a retired Trusts & Estates attorney who recently returned from two years in Ukraine with the Peace Corps, where I taught English at a pedagogical university. Before that, I taught English for two years in Hunan Province, China. I have two grown children, one who lives nearby and one in New York City. I love reading, movies, theater, art and art history, photography, walking, and bicycling. I grew up in Charlottesville, VA, but have lived in the Hartford area most of my adult life. Five things I can't live without would be books, the internet, food, friends and family. My all time favorite travel destination is France.
